CHAPTER 6
The ministers’ voices droned on, their suggestions and opinions mingling in the air. But Augustus’s expression remained impassive, his eyes fixed on some distant point beyond the throne room.
Suddenly, his voice rose like thunder, cutting through the chatter. “Enough!”
The throne room fell silent, the ministers’ words dying on their lips. Augustus’s eyes flashed with a fierce intensity, his jaw set in a firm line.
The room was pretty silent that even if a pin drop, it’ll be heard.
“I’ll get to decide that myself,” Emperor Augustus declared, his voice echoing off the stone walls. “I don’t need your suggestions or your approval. I am the Emperor, and I will make my own decisions.”
With that, he stood up, his majestic presence commanding the attention of all in the room.
“Long Live his Highness” The ministers bowed their heads, their faces pale and nervous.
Augustus turned and strode out of the throne room, leaving behind a sea of murmuring ministers. They spoke in hushed tones, their eyes darting nervously towards the empty throne.

ESMERALDA’S CHAMBER
“your highness, the slave the emperor brought to the palace is a white haired” sage informed.
Esmeralda’s eyes sparkled with amusement as Sage spoke. “A white-haired girl, you say?.”
Sage nodded, her eyes serious. “Yes, she’s quite beautiful. And she’s staying in the maids’ quarters, with I and Jade.”
Esmeralda scoffed, her lips curling into a dismissive smile. “I’m sure she’s just another silly little thing, trying to catch the emperor’s eye.”
Sage’s expression remained neutral, but her eyes gleamed with a hint of knowing. “Perhaps, your highness” she said. “She even disgust me” Sage squeezed her face as she remembers Aurora face jealously.
Esmeralda shrugged, her attention already wandering. “I doubt it,” she said, her voice dripping with disdain.
Later, Esmeralda claded herself in a sexy lingerie, her curves accentuated by the delicate fabric as she checked herself in the mirror.
She smiled, her eyes gleaming with a sultry light. “I bet your highness however, that His Highness won’t be able to take his eyes off you.”
Esmeralda smiled, her eyes sparkling with confidence. “Thank you, Sage. I always dress to impress.”
With a flick of her wrist, she draped a robe over her shoulders, the fabric hiding the lingerie from view.
“I’ll leave now, so go to your quarters…. I won’t be needing you till tomorrow” She said in a husky voice.
Sage nodded, her eyes following Esmeralda as she left the room, her hips swaying with a seductive grace.

SAPPHIRE’S CHAMBER~NIGHT
Sapphire’s eyes flashed with determination as she approached the guards outside her chamber. “I need to see my brother,” she said, her voice firm.
But the guards stood firm, their faces unyielding. “Sorry, Princess. We have strict orders not to let you leave your chamber.”
Sapphire scoffed, her eyes rolling in exasperation. “You can’t keep me like a prisoner!”
She had a playing smirk on her lips and glanced around, her eyes spotting a nearby tapestry. “Look! A fire!” she exclaimed, pointing towards it.
The guards instinctively turned towards the supposed fire, their attention diverted. Sapphire didn’t hesitate, darting under their outstretched arms and running hastily down the corridor towards the Emperor’s chamber.
The guards quickly realized their mistake and gave chase, their footsteps echoing behind her. But Sapphire was determined, her heart pounding in her chest.
She burst into her brother’s chamber, out of breath. But her face fell as she saw the guards in front of the emperor chamber stopping her. “The mistress is with the emperor,” the guard said, his face apologetic.
Sapphire’s eyes narrowed, her fists clenched tightly. “That bitch, must she be around him everytime” she scoffed angrily.
She turned on her heel, her skirts swirling around her. “I’ll see him tomorrow,” she said, her voice cold.
And with that, she stalked out of the chamber to her own
