CHAPTER 70

Sapphire walked out of her chamber. She had been hoping to run into Astrid, but instead, she found herself face to face with Louis. He smiled at her, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “Greetings, princess,” he smiled.

Sapphire’s gaze narrowed slightly “Oh, Louis, have you seen Astrid?” she asked, her eyes scanning everywhere

“No, maybe he’s busy.” Sapphire’s brow furrowed, her eyes narrowing further. “Ohhhh,” she muttered.

Louis seemed to sense her unease and stepped closer “Are you going somewhere?” he asked, his voice soft.

Sapphire shrugged, her shoulders barely rising off her shoulders. “No, just bored,” she replied.

Louis’s face lit up with a warm smile. “Let me keep your company then,” he said, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

Sapphire hesitated for a moment before nodding, her lips curling into a small smile. Together, they walked down to the field, their hands entwined as they chatted and laughed.

Meanwhile, Astrid walked into the field, his eyes scanning the area until they landed on Sapphire and Louis. His brows furrowed when he saw their hands together. He narrowed his eyes as he quickened his pace towards them.

“Why are you two together?” he asked a hint of possessiveness in his tone.

Sapphire and Louis turned to him, their faces innocent. “He’s keeping me company,” Sapphire replied, her voice light.

Astrid’s gaze darkened. “You should have called me,” he snapped.

“I couldn’t find you,” she muttered, her voice barely audible.

“Are you angry” Louis asked.

“No, I’m not” he shook his head. He reached out, his hand closing around Sapphire’s wrist. “Come with me,” he said, his voice dripping with possessiveness.

Sapphire’s gasped. She tried to protest, but Astrid’s grip was tight. He dragged her away from Louis, his strides long.

They reached a silent corner, the walls closing in around them like a trap. Astrid pinned Sapphire against the wall, his body caging hers without an escape route. Sapphire’s gasp was audible, her eyes wide with surprise and fear.

“What…are you…doing?” she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

Astrid’s eyes blazed with intensity, his face inches from hers. “You shouldn’t have held hands with him,” he said and she gulped down nothing.

“What’s wrong with holding hands?” she asked, her voice steady.

“Nothing,” he muttered, his voice barely audible. “I just don’t like anyone touching you.”

Sapphire’s eyes widened further, her mind reeling with shock. “Why?” she asked.

Astrid’s stared into her eyes, his gaze intense and passionate. He exhaled loudly, his chest heaving with emotion.

“Is it….” She couldn’t complete it when Astrid captured his lips on hers making her surprised.

He soon broke the kiss and her Heart beat rose faster than normal. Silence erupted between them as their heartbeat could only be heard. Their gaze locked on each other

“I love you, Sapphire,” he dropped the bombshell breaking the silence, his voice filled with emotions.

Sapphire’s eyes widened to impossible proportions, her mind reeling with shock as she became speechless

Astrid’s eyes seemed to burn with intensity, his face inches from hers. “I don’t know what you’ve been doing to me, but I’m always crazy when it comes to you,” he whispered, his voice filled with emotion.

The air seemed to vibrate with tension, the silence between them palpable.

“Astrid…” she found her voice, trembling.
