“Aaaaaaaah! I screamed as l was being $tabbed severally.

“Stop it, stop it please” l begged as they kept piercing k..nives all over my body.

I was trying hard to control myself, l don’t want to change to my wolf form.

I overheard them saying the state perspector wanted to cast a spell on me to make me remain in my wolf form forever.

As a werewolf, l only turn when am in danger, when am angry or when am feeling unbearable pains.

They have been trying to make me turn by $tabbing kn..ives all over my body.

I can’t take it anymore.

The door to the cell opened and the prime Minister’s wife came in with her personal maid.

She walked close to me and slapped me hard across the face.

I screamed in pain as tears flowed down my eyes.

“You good for nothing slave, how dare you defend a criminal, you are going to pay for her sins”she said as l sobbed silently.

“Guards” she called.

“Madam” they answered in unison.

“Beat her up” she ordered.

“Madam, there are knives all over her body, am afraid she is not going to survive if we beat her up” a guard said feebly.

“Do you want to disobey me you wretch?” She yelled.

“Madam, the state perspector wants her alive,we dare not kill her.”

“Shut up, shut up all of you” she yelled and they all bowed in fear.

She stared hard at me, scoffed and stomped out.

Three young maidens all dressed in white came in immediately, the guards bowed on seeing them.

“Release her, the state perspector wants us to bring her.”

“Show us your badge” the guard said.

“Release her now” one of the maids said and used magic on him.

He screamed and heard his neck as he coughed badly.

“That’s the badge” she said and grinned wickedly.

A guard came to release me quickly.

The three maidens held my hands and disappeared.

I woke up feeling light headed, my vision was blurry.

Someone held my hands tightly.

Uncle Noah!

The memories of what happened came rushing in.

I struggled to sit up quickly.

Uncle Noah! Uncle Noah! I called and tapped him slightly.

“My goodness Clarissa you are awake, you are awake, I was so scared, I thought l will never see you again.”

“Uncle am sorry, no matter how l try not to cause trouble, trouble keeps coming my way,what happened? How did l get here?” Where is Skylar?”

“Skylar have gone missing, according to the guard in charge of the prison, the state perspector asked his maidens to bring her,but the state perspector denied it, l and Maya have searched everywhere for her but couldn’t find her.”

“Uncle l caused it all, am truly sorry, she should have let me die, how long will l continue to cause trouble for everyone?who really am l?

Why can’t l live peacefully?why do l have to always get bullied? Why do people always connive against me?what have l done?”
I asked and sobbed.

“Am tired uncle Noah, l hate to see you like this, l hate to see you treated unfairly because of me.”

“Stop crying Clarissa, Maya have gone in search of Skylar, hopefully she will find her.”

“I found you this morning close to the our house.”

“What happened at the palace?”

“The palace? I don’t remember anything that happened after l fainted.

“Someone purposely dropped you there so we can see you.”

“When l brought you in, you were unconscious but your pulse was okay.”

“Why didn’t Maya go to school?she is going to be punished.

“It’s only the first time, she won’t be punished, l made something for you to eat.”

“Am not hungry, l feel much better now, let me do my chores and go to school.”

“Maya have finished our work already, you have to rest okay!”

“I want to go to school.”

“No please you have already been absent for three days and today is the second day of the treasure hunt.

l can’t let you participate in the treasure hunt and get punished as well, l will tell them you are still unconscious.”

“The witches are going to find out you are lying, l don’t want you to get involved in this, please uncle, let me go get dressed, l will tell someone very powerful to help me search for Skylar, don’t worry uncle, he will find her.”

“You will have to eat before you go and promise me you will come back alive.”

“I will uncle, l still have to get revenge for you , l can’t die yet.”

“Uncle, why did you enroll me in Phoenix high school, when you know that am not a supernatural?”

“There are some things that should be left unspoken Clarissa, with time you will know.”

“That’s what you always say, l will go get dressed” l said and pecked his cheeks.

As l washed my body l kept wondering
Why did madam frame me?
who is the crown prince, why did he save me?

You will have to find out Clarissa, that’s if you come out of the treasure hunt alive.

After getting dressed for school, l stared at my reflection in the mirror and l was shocked.

Aaaaaaaah! I screamed and the mirror fell off my hands and broke into pieces.
