THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 1 – 10
The rooftop was dimly lit, the only sound the distant hum of the city below. A group of demons surrounded one of their own, who held a shiny stone aloft. He chanted in a low, raspy voice, and the stone began to glow with an otherworldly light.
As he raised the stone to throw it into the sky, a figure suddenly appeared on the rooftop. Maledicta’s eyes blazed with fury as she took in the scene before her.
The stone shattered into a thousand pieces as Maledicta’s presence washed over it. The demons surrounding the stone’s holder let out a collective shriek as they began to burn, their bodies dissolving into ash as they stumbled and fell.
The demon who had held the stone turned to face Maledicta, his eyes wide with fear.
“Ma…le…dic…ta,” he stammered, his voice trembling.
Maledicta supersped towards him, her movements a blur as she grabbed his neck and slammed him against the rooftop.
“Why did your queen send you here?” she demanded, her voice cold and deadly.
The demon struggled to speak, his words cut short as Maledicta slammed him against the wall. The wall cracked and splintered, crumbling into dust as the demon’s eyes went wide with terror.
“I want a straight answer,” Maledicta growled, her grip on the demon’s neck tightening.
“I-I was just following Her Highness’s orders,” the demon stammered.
Maledicta’s eyes narrowed. “That’s not an answer,” she spat, her fist flying towards the demon’s face.
Six of his teeth flew out as Maledicta’s punch connected, the demon’s eyes streaming with tears as he stumbled backwards.
Maledicta advanced on him, her eyes blazing with fury.
“You’re going to tell me what I want to know,” she snarled.
But before she could strike again, the demon suddenly stabbed her in the neck with a hidden blade. Maledicta’s eyes widened in shock as she stumbled backwards, her strength faltering. The demon laugh seeing how she is struggling to stand.
“You can’t do anything, you are weak now, the dagger was coated with Blackthorn juice (a poisonous plant which makes someone weak for six to seven hours) I will kill you, so you won’t have chance to return” he said.
The demon took advantage of her weakness, and stab her in the chest and then kick her hard. Maledicta flew off the rooftop, her body crashing onto a moving car below.
The car screeched to a halt as the driver leapt out, his eyes wide with horror as he took in Maledicta’s bloodied form.
“Oh no, not my boss’s car!” he exclaimed, rushing towards Maledicta.
Maledicta’s eyes flickered open, her gaze locking onto the stranger’s face. She tried to speak, but her voice was barely a whisper.
The stranger’s eyes widened in alarm as he took in Maledicta’s injuries.
“Miss, are you okay?” he asked, his voice trembling with concern.
Maledicta’s gaze drifted away, her eyes glazing over as she lost consciousness. The stranger’s face fell, his eyes filling with worry as he frantically dialed for help.
As he waited for the ambulance to arrive, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he had just stumbled into something much bigger than himself.
