THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 141 – THE END
The noise coming from outside was what woke Maledicta up. She rubbed her eyes, thinking it was just a dream, but the commotion persisted. She got out of bed and went to check through the window. Her eyes widened in horror when she saw her friends tied up and thrown into an iron cage.
She immediately ran outside, her heart racing with fear.
“What is going on?” she asked, trying to rush to her friends’ side, but the guards caught her.
They held her firmly, their grip like a vice. Maledicta struggled to free herself, but it was no use. She looked around frantically.
That’s when she saw Lucan standing beside Benedicta, and she shouted his name.
When Lucan turned to face her, Maledicta’s blood ran cold. His eyes were red and black, and he looked like a total psychopath. He moved closer to her, his grin growing wider.
“You must be the little wench sent to kill me,” he sneered, his voice dripping with malice.
Maledicta’s eyes widened in shock.
“What…what’s going on, Lucan? Why are you doing this?” She muttered.
But Lucan just laughed maniacally. “Tie her up. We’re going to Nightshade.” He said.
The guards started tying Maledicta up, their ropes biting into her skin. She struggled and kicked, but it was no use.
Lucan’s eyes gleamed with madness as he looked at her.
“I’ll kill you in front of your people, burn the whole town, and rule the world.” He said.
Benedicta smiled, her eyes glinting with malevolence, finally, things are going her way once again.
THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 141 – THE END
Maledicta was thrown into the cage, joining the other girls. The boys were in a separate cage at the front, and soon four powerful horses appeared, tied to the cages. The horses started dragging the cages, their speed like lightning, and it was obvious they would reach Nightshade town in no time.
Lucan and Benedicta climbed onto horses, accompanied by the guards, and started their journey to Nightshade. Maledicta watched them go, feeling a mix of emotions: sadness, anger, and fear.
Belladonna broke the silence, “What happened? Didn’t anything happen between you two?” She asked.
Maledicta stared out of space, her eyes unfocused. “It did…he changed…we talked…he told me I’m amazing…he even showed me something amazing…I don’t know what’s wrong,” she said sadly, her voice barely above a whisper.
Lilith’s eyes narrowed, her gaze fixed on Benedicta’s retreating figure. “Do you think this is Benedicta’s handiwork?” she asked, her voice laced with suspicion.
Arachne’s face twisted in anger. “I’m sure she has something to do with this. She’s always been jealous of Maledicta and Lucan’s relationship.” She said.
Belladonna’s eyes widened in concern. “Can we stop him? He shouldn’t hurt our people.” She said.
“I’ll try to bring him back. I just hope it helps.”Maledicta said.
Lilith groaned, frustration etched on her face. “Why is this happening? The book said that if you guys did it three times, your hearts would be connected. So, what went wrong?” She said.
Arachne shook her head. “Let’s just protect ourselves first and wish for the safety of our parents. With this speed, we’ll soon get to the town. We couldn’t even inform them so they could prepare.” She said.
Maledicta’s hand slipped under her clothes, and she pulled out the dagger. The others watched in surprise as she held it up.
“My mom sent word to me with this dagger,” she explained. “Maybe if I stab his heart, he could come back to his senses instead of dying.”
Belladonna’s eyes widened in fear. “What if he doesn’t?”
Maledicta’s face set in determination. “Then I’ll kill myself because I don’t think I can live without him.”
The others watched her with pitiful eyes, wishing they could do something to make it all go away. But they were weak and helpless, unable to do anything but watch as the events unfolded.
As the cages continued to move, the girls fell into a somber silence, each lost in their own thoughts. Maledicta’s eyes never left the dagger.
