The man’s impatient voice cut through the air, his eyes fixed menacingly on Kaiden.
“Boy, we can’t wait all day. If you don’t move away, you’ll be stoned with her.” He said.
Kaiden stood firm, “I’m not moving an inch from here.” He said.
“Kaiden!”Benedicta’s voice rang out, laced with worry.
The man’s face twisted in anger, and he raised his hand, ready to throw the stone. But before he could, Belladonna darted forward, joining Kaiden in shielding Maledicta.
The crowd gasped in shock, their eyes fixed on the her.
“It’s the princess!” one of the women whispered.
“Princess, please move away.”A woman begged.
But Belladonna stood firm, her eyes flashing with defiance. “No one is hurting her.”
Cassius joined them, his broad shoulders adding to the protective shield around Maledicta.
“The Alpha prince!” someone gasped.
Thane and Lilith followed suit, their faces set in a frown. Arachne’s bright smile faltered for a moment before she joined the group, her eyes fixed on Maledicta with an unnerving intensity.
Ryder completed the circle, his eyes locked on Benedicta’s unreadable expression. The group formed a united front, their eyes daring anyone to challenge them.
Benedicta’s face twisted in anger, her eyes blazing with fury. She felt like killing them all, especially Belladonna. But then, her expression changed, and she burst into fake tears.
“Thank you all, thank you for standing up for my sister,” she sobbed, joining the group.
The crowd murmured, their faces filled with confusion and uncertainty.
“What are you all doing? The king won’t be happy if he hears about this!”A man yelled.
“You all misunderstood her. She’s not the one who brought demons here. She’s one of us, trying to save you all.”Belladonna’s voice rang out, clear and strong.
“Did you expect us to believe you? This girl has brought nothing but misfortune to us!”A woman shouted back.
“She didn’t! She saved a lot of people. Why aren’t you talking, those of you she saved?”Kaiden’s voice rose in anger.
“She saved me from drowning.”A girl spoke up, her voice trembling.
“She saved me from the demon.”A boy added.
“She was trying to help me up, and she also saved my younger sister.”The girl on the ground spoke up, her eyes shining with gratitude.
“See? She’s no threat. She was just trying to save her people. Baa will be here soon, watch as she tries to protect you.”Cassius’s voice cut through the noise.
The moment Cassius stopped talking, the air grew quiet, and then it went suddenly dark. The crowd gasped, their hearts racing with fear.
“Everyone, find someplace to hide!”Lilith’s voice shouted out.
The group quickly scattered, searching for shelter from the impending attack. Kaiden grabbed Maledicta’s hand, pulling her towards a nearby building.
As they ran, the sound of screams and crashing echoed through the air. Baa had arrived, and chaos had descended upon the town once again.
The students suddenly stop and turn to face the demons.
“Don’t be afraid, we can do it, let get ride of this lousy demon” Belladonna scream.
The students charged forward, their swords flashing in the moonlight as they clashed with the demon. Baa, the splitting demon, lived up to its name, splitting into over a hundred images of itself.
The students were surrounded, but they refused to back down. Ryder, Cassius, and Thane fought valiantly, their movements swift as they cut the demon with their sword. Belladonna and the other female students fought with equal ferocity, their will evident on their faces.
But Maledicta moved with an unnatural speed, her sword slicing through the demon’s images with ease. Her power was mesmerizing, and the students couldn’t help but watch in awe as she fought.
