THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 51 – 60

Benedicta’s face twisted in anger. “You shouldn’t involve yourself in this matter. It’s between Maledicta and me.” She snapped.

Belladonna shook her head. “Sorry, but I’m going to involve myself. If you continue down this path, I’ll make sure everyone knows the real you.” She said and turned to leave.

“Why are you suddenly defending her? I thought you hated her too.” Benedicta asked.

Belladonna stopped and turned back to Benedicta.

“Of course, I hated her. But today, I realized how terrible I was. She’s been facing so much, suffering for something she knows nothing about. And I, a princess with the best life, was hating on her. I was ashamed of myself, and I won’t stop being ashamed until I make amends.” She said.

Benedicta’s face twisted in disgust. “You’re just feeling guilty because you’re a weak princess.” She said.

Belladonna’s expression didn’t change.

“Maybe i am guilty, but not because I am weak but because this is the right thing to do” Belladonna said.

“ What about Cassius? He didn’t even look at you because of Maledicta. Are you going to stay and just watch that?” Be media” Benedicta asked.

Belladonna’s eyes seemed to cloud over for a moment, but then she shook her head.

“I won’t fight anyone because of Cassius. I can’t force him to like me. I’ll just keep waiting for him, and if he doesn’t notice me before I get tired of waiting, then I’ll move on.” She said and with that, Belladonna turned and left, leaving Benedicta seething with anger. Benedicta watched her go, her heart heaving with rage and frustration.

A DAY LATER

The sun had barely risen over the horizon, but the students of the academy were already bustling about, eager to start their day. The atmosphere was lively, with laughter and chatter filling the air.

Belladonna made her way to Maledicta’s room, She had decided that it was time to drag Maledicta out of her shell, and she was not going to take no for an answer.

As she approached the door, she was nearly cut by the shield that Maledicta had built around it. But Belladonna was not one to be deterred. She focused all her energy and managed to break through the shield, bursting into the room with a triumphant smile.

Maledicta was lying on her bed, her eyes open and staring at the ceiling. She didn’t seem to be sleeping, but she didn’t acknowledge Belladonna’s presence either.

“I can’t believe you’re still here when everyone else is already in the dining hall waiting for breakfast,” Belladonna said, striding over to the bed.

Maledicta slowly turned her head, her eyes narrowing as she looked at Belladonna.

“What are you doing here?” she asked coldly.

“To drag you to the hall, of course. It’s time for breakfast.”Belladonna grinned.

Maledicta’s expression didn’t change, but she sat up, her movements fluid and graceful.

“I’m not going,” she said, her voice firm.

“I don’t take no for an answer. You’ll dress up now, and we’ll go together.”Belladonna chuckled.

Maledicta’s eyes flashed with anger, but Belladonna just laughed.

“Who are you to tell me what to do?” Maledicta scoffed.

Belladonna’s smile never wavered. “I’m your friend, your one and only friend.” She said.

“When did I accept to be your friend?”Maledicta raised an eyebrow.

“You don’t have to accept. I choose you, and I’m not afraid of you.”Belladonna shrugged.
