THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 61 – 70
The students were all training, their sweat-drenched faces a testament to the intensity of their workouts. Maledicta was training a group of girls.
At first, the girls had been awkward and afraid, intimidated by Maledicta’s reputation and fearsome appearance. But as the training session wore on, they began to relax, their movements becoming more confident and assured.
Aka sat at a corner, her eyes fixed intently on Maledicta. She still hadn’t figured out a way to get a drop of Maledicta’s blood, a task that seemed increasingly difficult as the days went by.
“You seem really interested in Senior Maledicta.”Ryder’s voice interrupted her thoughts.
Aka finally looked away from Maledicta, her eyes meeting Ryder’s.
“Let’s say, I adore her,” she said, a hint of a smile playing on her lips.
“Well, you’re not the only one.”Ryder chuckled.
Aka’s eyes narrowed slightly, “You must be talking about her,” she said, pointing to Arachne, who was following Maledicta around the training area, her eyes fixed adoringly on the older girl.
“Yeah.”Ryder nodded.
Aka’s gaze returned to Maledicta, “I’m just so curious about her.” She said gently.
Ryder’s expression turned thoughtful, “About that, I think I could find a way.” He muttered.
Aka’s eyes snapped back to Ryder, “Really?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Ryder nodded, “Yeah. When I visited my grandfather about a year ago, I found an old history book about Maledicta’s father in his safe. I wanted to read it, but he took it away, saying the story wasn’t suitable for young ears.” He said.
Aka’s eyes widened, “What do you mean?” She asked.
Ryder leaned in, his voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. “I think the older ones know what really happened to Maledicta’s father, but they won’t tell us. They’re keeping secrets, and I think that book might hold the key.” He said.
“Are you trying to say you should sneak into your grandfather’s safe and take the book?” Aka asked after some minutes.
Ryder nodded, “Yeah. He lives near here, and we’ll have a free day soon. I could sneak out of the school and come back before anyone notices.” He said.
“I’ll come with you.” She said.
“Sure. I’ll tell you when I’m ready.”Ryder grinned.
As Ryder left, Aka couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation. She was one step closer to uncovering the secrets surrounding Maledicta, and she was determined to see it through.
“Soon, I’ll know what really happened,” Aka whispered to herself, a smile spreading across her face.

Thane watched Kaiden with a mixture of surprise and curiosity.
“You haven’t been messing up in today’s training. What’s going on with you?” he asked, eyeing Kaiden’s focused expression.
“It’s nothing, I’m just showing your effort on me, senior.”Kaiden grinned.
Thane raised an eyebrow. “You smile a lot too.”
Kaiden’s grin faltered for a moment, and he looked away, his cheeks flushing.
“I always smile, okay?” he muttered, trying to sound nonchalant.
Thane chuckled, shaking his head. “Whatever, kid.”
