(MY MAN)
Ryder stepped out of his room, adjusting his dress as he made his way to the sitting room. He had been invited to breakfast, and strangely, he wanted to make a good impression. He arrive very late last night and just went to bed since he was really tired.
As he approached the palace dinning room, he could hear the murmur of voices and the clinking of silverware. He took a deep breath, smoothing out his expression before entering the room.
The room fell silent as he entered, and Ryder’s eyes scanned the room, taking in the familiar faces of his parents, the king and queen, and a couple he didn’t recognize. They looked familiar, but he couldn’t quite place them.
“Ah, Ryder, good morning,” his mother said, smiling brightly. “We’re so glad you could join us.”
Ryder smiled back, taking a seat at the table. “Good morning, Mother. Father.”
His parents exchanged a warm smile, and the king spoke up. “Ryder, I believe you’ve met Arachne’s parents before?” He asked.
Ryder’s eyes flicked to the couple, and he nodded politely. “I think so. Though I’m not quite sure.” He muttered.
Arachne’s mother smiled warmly. “We’ve heard so much about you, Ryder. Our daughter has been looking forward to meeting you.” She said.
Ryder’s eyes scanned the room, searching for Arachne. But she was nowhere to be found.
“I hear you are also in Nightshade Wonderland, You must have met her once.” Arachne’s father said.
Ryder’s expression turned thoughtful, but before he could respond, a commotion at the door caught his attention.
A group of maids entered the room, leading a young woman who looked like a vision in a beautiful gown. Ryder’s eyes widened as he took in her beauty, but his expression quickly turned stoic.
“Meet your future wife, Ryder,” his mother said, beaming with pride. “I’m sure you’ll love her.”
Ryder didn’t respond, his eyes fixed on the Arachne, who has a nervous smile on her face.
Arachne’s eyes were fixed on the floor, her face pale. But as she looked up, her eyes met Ryder’s, and her expression changed from nervousness to shock.
“You……” she started to say, her voice trailing off.
Ryder’s expression remained neutral, but his eyes seemed to bore into Arachne’s soul.
“Do you know each other?” the king asked, his voice curious.
“No, I don’t know her.”Ryder spoke up quickly, his voice firm.
