THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 81 – 90
Arachne’s eyes flashed with surprise, and she looked like she was about to say something. But Ryder’s expression silenced her, and she looked away, her face pale.
The king smiled, seemingly oblivious to the tension.
“Well, you can get to know each other now. You can have your privacy.” He said.
Ryder stood up, his eyes fixed on Arachne. “Follow me.” He muttered.
He turned and walked away, leaving Arachne to follow him. She looked back at her parents, who gave her an encouraging smile. She bow to the king and queen.
As they left the room, the king turned to Arachne’s parents.
“She’s so respectful. I like her so much.” He said.
Arachne’s father smiled, his eyes warm with pride. “She’s the best. Since we lost her sister, she hasn’t made us feel bad.” He said.
The king nodded, “I’m sure Ryder will be lucky to have such a lady as a wife.” He said.
“No, our daughter is the luckiest.” Arachne’s mother said.
The room fell silent, and the king smiled, “Well, I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see.” He said.

Arachne followed Ryder, her heart pounding in her chest. She couldn’t believe what she had just discovered. Ryder is the prince, he had been watching her all along, and she had no idea.
As they entered his room, Ryder closed the door behind them, She had never been alone with him before, and she wasn’t sure what to expect but she isn’t ready to act like a coward.
“I must have looked like a fool to you, right?” Arachne said, her voice barely above a whisper.
“So, you’re the prince, but you watch me make a fool of myself always.” She added.
Ryder’s expression was neutral, but Arachne could sense a hint of amusement in his eyes. “Arachne, I don’t expose myself. You didn’t expect me to tell you, did you?” He asked.
Arachne felt a pang of hurt. “Why did you deny knowing me?” she asked again.
Ryder shrugged. “I asked my reasons. They would have bombarded us with questions. You should understand that.” He said.
Arachne’s eyes narrowed. “That hurt,” she said, her voice soft.
“I warned you about all this. You’re just so slow-witted.” Ryder scoffed.
Arachne’s eyes flashed with anger. “That’s not my fault, okay?” she snapped back.
“Just go out and pretend like this is nothing. We’ll talk in school.” Ryder said.
But Arachne wasn’t having it. “You don’t like me, right? You’re not happy about the marriage, right? You like that girl, Aka, right?” she asked, her voice rapid-fire.
Ryder’s eyes narrowed. “You ask too many questions.” He muttered.
“Then give me answers. Let me know where I stand. I can’t drag you into something you don’t want.” She said seriously, Ryder have never seen her act this serious before.
“I can’t give you the answers you want.” He said, his words were like a slap in the face.
Arachne felt a pang of hurt, and she knew she had to get out of there before she broke down.
“Okay, then. I get it. I’ll just leave.” She said.
She turned and walked out of the room, “Arachne!” Ryder call after her.
But she didn’t stop. She kept walking until she reached the sitting room, where their parents were waiting.
“Have you finished your talk? That was quick,” the queen said.
“Mum, can I go back to School now?” Arachne asked, trying to keep her emotions in check.
