THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 81 – 90
Her father’s expression turned concerned. “What’s wrong, darling?” He asked.
Arachne shrugged. “Nothing. I think we’re done with the reason we’re here.” She said.
Her father nodded. “Then I’ll prepare the palanquin.” He said.
Ryder appeared beside her, his eyes locked on hers.
“I’ll go with her.” He said.
“Please don’t.” Arachne said and left.
“Don’t worry about us,” Ryder said to their parents, when he saw the way they are looking at him, he quickly follow Arachne out of the room.
As they reached the palanquin, Arachne quickly got in, trying to put as much distance between herself and Ryder as possible. But Ryder was hot on her heels, forcing himself into the palanquin beside her.
Arachne turned her back on him, trying to ignore the feeling of his eyes on her. Ryder chuckled, the sound sending shivers down her spine.

The sun had just begun to rise, casting a warm glow over the academy. The students were already making their way to the training grounds, eager to begin their morning training.
Cassius, however, was lingering by the door, his eyes scanning the crowd for one person in particular.
As he spotted Belladonna walking towards him, a smile spread across his face. But, as was becoming increasingly usual, she ignored him and tried to walk past.
Cassius’s smile faltered, and he reached out, grabbing her hand and pulling her away from the crowd.
“What do you want?” Belladonna asked, her voice cold and detached, as she tried to release her hand from his grip.
Cassius felt a pang of hurt at her gesture, but he pushed on.
“Why are you acting so strangely around me?” he asked, his eyes searching hers for any sign of the Belladonna he once knew.
Belladonna raised an eyebrow, her expression unyielding.
“Isn’t that what you always wanted?” she asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Cassius felt a twinge of guilt at her words. He had, after all, rejected her and pushed her away. But that was before he realized he couldn’t stop thinking about her and like the time she was giving him her attention.
He kept quiet, unsure of how to respond. Belladonna, taking his silence as a sign of acceptance, turned to leave. But Cassius wasn’t ready to let her go just yet. He grabbed her hand again, holding her in place.
“So, are you into Thane now?” he asked, his voice low and husky.
“Remember, he’s a wolf like me. He could find his mate at any moment.” He added.
Belladonna’s eyes flashed with anger, but she kept her tone neutral. “That’s my problem.” She muttered.
Cassius’s eyes narrowed, his grip on her hand tightening.
“You’re not allowed to be with any other man,” he growled, his voice low and possessive. “You belong to me. We mated, remember?”
“You rejected me, and I accepted. Remember? So, the bond is no longer there. Stop being greedy and let me go.” Belladonna said icily.
Cassius felt a pang of pain at her words. He knew he had hurt her, and now she was pushing him away. But he couldn’t help himself. He was drawn to her, and he couldn’t let her go.
“I can’t,” he whispered, his eyes pleading with hers. He cupped her cheeks, his thumbs tracing the contours of her face.
Belladonna struggled against his grip, but Cassius held firm. He leaned in, his lips brushing against hers in a fierce, possessive kiss. Belladonna’s eyes widened in shock, and she tried to push him away, but Cassius held her in place.
It wasn’t until he broke the kiss that Belladonna’s tears began to fall. Cassius’s eyes widened in horror as he realized what he had done. He had hurt her again, and this time, it was worse.
“Bella, I’m so sorry,” he whispered, his voice shaking with regret. He gently wiped away her tears, his eyes pleading with hers for forgiveness.
But Belladonna just shook her head, her eyes filled with a deep sadness. “Why can’t you just let me be?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Did you enjoy hurting me?” She added.
