THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 91 – 100

Ryder grinned back at her, but his expression quickly turned serious. “We have to make things look the same,” he said. “Grandfather gets suspicious easily.”

Aka nodded, and Ryder carefully reset the trap. He made another book appear, identical to the one Aka had taken, before closing the door.

As he turned to leave, he realized that Aka was nowhere to be seen. He quickly walked outside, his heart racing with anxiety. His grandfather was starting to stir, and Ryder knew they had to get out of there fast.

He spotted Aka running some distance away, the book clutched tightly in her hand. Ryder took off after her, his feet pounding the earth as he gained on her.

Finally, he caught up to her, grabbing her hand and spinning her around.

“Why are you running away with the book?” he demanded.

Aka’s eyes sparkled with mischief as she smirked up at him. “You said we weren’t allowed to read it, right?” she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “So you can’t.”

With that, she punched Ryder in the belly, sending him doubling over in pain. She kicked him twice more before vanishing into thin air.

Ryder groaned, clutching his stomach as he struggled to his feet.

“I’m doomed,” he muttered, shaking his head.

He took off after Aka, to catch up to her and retrieve the book.

Aka appeared in her room, the book clutched tightly in her hand. She had a bright smile on her face as she stared at the book, her eyes shining with excitement. Maybe, just maybe, she would finally be able to find a way to get to Maledicta.

She locked her room with a swift motion of her hand, using her powers to seal the door. Only then did she feel safe enough to open the book.

As she opened the cover, a yellowed page greeted her. The words “Property of Nightshade Wonderland” were emblazoned across the top, followed by a warning: “This book must not fall into the hands of anyone. Its contents are too dangerous for the uninitiated.”

Aka shrugged, her eyes scanning the page. She had always been one to disregard warnings, and this was no exception.

She began to read, her eyes widening as she delved deeper into the book. The story was five hundred years old, dating back to the time when Mistress Morwen had just taken over the school from her father.

A strange man had appeared at the school, charming and charismatic. His name was Damian, and Aka’s eyes widened as she realized that this was her father.

She continued reading, her eyes growing wider in shock. Her father had come to the school because he had heard about the prophecy of the child Lucan, who would give the demons the strength to take over the world.

The school had been unaware of Damian’s true intentions. He had almost ended the students, using them as sacrifices to his dark god. Aka’s mind reeled as she read the words, her heart pounding in her chest.

“My father isn’t like that,” she whispered, shaking her head in shock. “That’s not my father.”

But the words on the page didn’t lie. Damian had been found out, performing his dark ritual in secret. The goddess had cursed him, but he had taken his own life before the curse could take effect.

The curse had then passed to one of his children, and Aka’s eyes widened as she realized that this must be why her mother had always been so secretive about her past.

It was only after Damian’s death that it was discovered that Mistress Morwen was pregnant with his children. Aka’s mind reeled as she realized the implications.

Did that mean…? Could it be…?

The book fell from Aka’s hand, her eyes widening in shock. Maledicta and Benedicta were her younger sisters.

The room spun around her, Aka’s mind racing with thoughts. Her mother had lied to her about her father’s death. Epusa had told her that he had been killed while out hunting, but it seemed that was just a cover story.
