Kyros removed the lobster from his food and turned to Diora.

“Don’t listen to….”

“She’s right” Diora cut in.

“Hey…”

“I don’t know anything about you, well at least I’m curious,but you are never curious to know about me” She sniffs.

Kyros was surprised to see tears dropping from her eyes.

“Were you two lovers? Seems like she knows everything about you” Diora mumbled and wiped her tears.

Kyros sighed.

“We are…childhood friends. But we aren’t close anymore,like she said, don’t mind her” He said.

“As if I can avoid her” Diora muttered.

Alfred and Fatima came back and the rest of the dinner went on silently with no conflict.

ROMANO’S MANSION*

Rona and Sitara entered Miliah’s room and met her on the bed, she’s been this day ever since Diora was announced as the duchess.

“Are you going to remain that way forever?” Rona asked, almost with a pissed tone.

“Not your business, you two are not allowed to come in here unless I permit you, how many times do I have to say it” Maliah asked.

“You are going to school tomorrow right?” Sitara asked.

“I am, Diora will definitely be there tomorrow” Maliah said.

“What are you planning to do? You think the duke would take it easy with you if you try anything?” Rona asked.

“And you think I care?” Maliah glared.

“If you don’t care, I care. Can you not do anything silly for the sake of our parents at least?” Rona snapped.

“Our parents?” Maliah laughed.

“What do you mean ?” Rona raised her brows.

Maliah ignored her and stormed out of the room, she went straight downstairs and met their parents watching a tv show, they both turned to see her.

“Is there a problem?” Mrs Romano asked.

“Does the duke have anything against you?” Maliah asked.

Romano blinked and sat down properly.

“Did you do anything?” He asked.

“Seeing your reaction dad, I guess he has something against you, is that why you gave out Diora to him?” Maliah asked.

“Maliah….”

“You should have sent me there instead!! Why her?? You know how much I like him! You thought he was going to maltreat her? You should have allowed me first!!” She screamed and stormed out of the house in tears.

The couples couldn’t say anything.

“Father is indebted to the duke?” Sitara’s eyes widened and glanced at Rona, they were both listening from upstairs.

Rona said nothing.
