AURORA POV
I felt a warm hand caressing and kissing every part of my body, I smiled knowing fully well who it was.
“Alex”. I called his name and opened my eyes to see him smiling lovingly at me.
” Did I wake you up?”.
“No”. I replied smiling.
” I want to always wake up with you every single day”.
“Me too”. We kissed
” Have you thought about my request?”. he asked and I suddenly remembered what his request was last night.
“Alex, I–“.
” Please don’t say no”. he said cutting me short and I smiled at him.
“I wasn’t going to say no, but don’t you think is too early for that, you just happened to know about Nora’s secret, and everyone knows you could be grieving over it”.
” But I am not, I never felt anything for Nora, all these engagement things were my mother’s idea”. he said and caressed my face. ” you are the one I want Aurora, my heart yawns for you and he wants to be with you for eternity, please accept to be mine forever”. he said and I could see sincerity in his eyes.
” I love you Alex and I would wanna spend the rest of my life with you”.
“Is that a yes?”. he asked curiously.
I smiled at him and kissed him lightly on the lips. ” Yes”.
“What? Yes?”. he asked excitedly and I nodded. ” Yes!”. he hugged me tight to himself.”Thank you Aurora, you just made me the happiest man on earth, I love you so much”. he said feeling emotional and we pulled away from each other to see tears forming in his eyes.
“You are the one for me and I love you so much, I would love to be your wife and also to call you my spouse”. I said and we smiled at each other.
” Me too “. he kissed my forehead. ” Wait a sec.”. He turned to his drawer and then brought out a little rectangular box.
“What’s that?”. I asked and he opened it, I was amazed to see a couple rings made of diamonds. “Alex”. I called confusedly as he took my left hand and slid the ring on it.
” It’s your turn”. he said and I took the ring from him and slid it to his finger. “Now, we are made for each other”.
” This ring is beautiful and it cost a fortune”. I said.
“You like it?”.
” Yes, but this could cause attraction from everyone if they notice we have the same couple rings”.
“I don’t care Aurora, I want the whole world to know about us, after our marriage registration today, I will take you to my mother”.
” Huh! You mother?”. I sputtered.
“Yes, believe me, she won’t say no to us “.
” But….”
“No, but, everything will be fine”. he said and I became relaxed. ” I love you wifey”.
“I love you more hubby”. We smile at each other and we cuddle tight in each other arms.

Some hours later, the driver came and drove us to the registration office, A few couples came to get their registration done. Alex and I waited patiently for our turn. I could feel the excitement Alex was having as we entwined our fingers and I couldn’t believe I would be officially be married to the man I love the most in this world in the next thirty minutes, I have always dreamt of this day and it’s happening. Soon it was our turn and we went inside, we did the necessary things, and we were told to wait for six weeks before we could receive our marriage certificate.
Along the driveway, I rested my head on Alex’s shoulder and our fingers entwined.
” Alex”. I called and he answered. “Can we keep this a secret from our family for the main time?”.
” Why?”.
“We can tell Nina and Richard about it, but we should keep it from our family and outsiders
too, let’s resolve the issue on the ground and get approval from our families before we can break the news to them”. I said.
” Is that what you?”.
“Yes, for now”.
“OK, if you say so wifey “. He said and I blushed. Then his cell phone rang and he picked up knowing who the caller was. 📞” Hello?”. He said and I could hear Richard’s voice from the other end.
📞”Alex, are you still alive? Which of the hospitals are you admitted to?”. He asked and I could feel anger in his voice.
📞”What are you blabbing about? Are you wishing me dead?”.
📞”You moron, what do you expect me to think when you disappear from the party and your cell phone wasn’t connecting, do you know how worried everyone was, I thought maybe you went to kill yourself”. He said and Alex chuckled.
📞”Seriously, you are one hell of a drama king my Friend, why would I wanna kill myself? I just left the party because I couldn’t stand Nora’s face”.
📞”Damn you! Do you know Aurora was worried sick about your sudden disappearance “.
📞” Yeah, but she is right here with me, I mean we were together last night”.
📞”You twit! Don’t ever ditch on me like that again, here I was worrying my a!s down for you, not knowing you were having a good time with your woman”.
📞”Now you know”. He laughed.
📞”Tell Aurora to call Nina she is worrying sick about her”.
📞”I will deliver your message, now get off my phone”. he hung up smiling.
“Seriously, everyone was worried about you though”. I said.
” Yeah”. He sighed and then the driver turned on the radio and the news of Nora’s secret was been announced on air, I glanced through my phone to see the news all over the air with a lot of bad comments about Nora. “Why are you reading that? Are you feeling sorry for her?”. he asked and placed my phone back in my bag.
” No, I guess she deserves what she is getting”.
“Don’t let it bother You”.
“Sure”. we went mute for a while.” Alex, you should go see your mom”.
“No, I don’t want to”. he said and I pulled away from him to look at him.
” You have to, she is feeling guilty for what she did to you”.
“That’s her problem, not mine”.
” But she is your mother”.
“Can we not talk about this?”.
” We have to”. I said sounding serious and he looked at me and sighed.

NARRATOR POV
The next day, at the office, the news was still spreading rapidly all around the air. Aurora was working on her desk when Nina entered giving her a hard look.
“To the fifth floor now”. She said and walked away. Aurora sighed tiredly at her as she followed her behind.
Not too long after, Elizabeth arrived at the company, she walked to the office and noticed the Secretary was not at her desk.
” Where did she–“. She got interrupted.
“Are you looking for me?”. Aurora asked from behind and she turned to her.
” Yes, I thought you were not on sit again, because a good Secretary is to be available always”. She said unlikely.
“It looks like you are an expert in that field, so, tell me, have you worked as a secretary before?”. Aurora asked unfriendly.
” What an insult, do you think I look wretch like you”. Elizabeth retorted and Aurora scoffed.
“If you are here to see Al…I mean my boss, he is not around, I really don’t like it when someone is Loitering around my office, am his secretary and it is a mandate that if anybody wants to see my boss, should come through me first before”. She fired back and Elizabeth was surprised.
” What right do you have to talk to me like that?”.She said angrily. “You know, I will report you to Alex and make sure you are fired”. She said angrily and walked away.
” I will report you to Alex and…”. She mimicked and kissed her teeth.”Gosh, I can’t stand her”. She grunted and sat down, and then Nina came over.
“What happened? I saw the lady leaving angrily “. Nina said.
” She is really getting on my nerves, she thinks is the owner of this place and that she has to order people around”.
“I guess you serve her this time”. Nina said and that chuckles. ” I understand the reason why you had to rush back to your office when you saw her “.
” Yeah”
“Ok, that serves her right”. She stood up to the window. ” just know we still need to talk at my house this evening, we are having a girl’s night”.
“Sure, I also have something to tell you”.
” Ok”. She smiled.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth came out of the building angrily, immediately she saw Alex’s car drive into the building, and she burst into tears.
“Elizabeth?”. Alex came down from the car immediately after he saw her crying.” What’s wrong with you? Why are you crying?”. he asked and was caught off guard as Elizabeth ran into his arms sobbing.
“Hell no”. Nina said as she was staring at them from the window.
” What is it?”. Aurora asked.
“Come look at this”. She said and Aurora rushed to see what was going on. ” Now she is a pest”. She said and Aurora was pissed.
“What happened to you, Why are you crying?”. He asked as he pulled away from her. ” Did someone hurt you?”.
“Your Secretary”. She sniffs and Alex is confused.” She just insulted and humiliated me simply because I came to see you”.
“My secretary? How? and why?”.
” I don’t know what I have done to her, this isn’t the first time she has been aggressive toward me”. She said and Alex sighed.
“Am sorry about that, I know my wi–…I mean my secretary very well, she is very kind and loving, I guess she doesn’t mean anything she says to you”.
” Are you taking sides with her?”.
“Am sorry, please let me make it up to you, by taking you out for lunch”. He said and opened the car for her to enter.
” Really?”. She said excitedly and Alex nodded.
“For the trouble”.
” Yes!”. She enters the car and Alex as well and they drive off.
Aurora sighed angrily seeing what just happened.
“How dramatic can she be “. Nina said. ” Only heaven knows, the lies she might have cooked up for him”.
“This is unacceptable, how could he”. Aurora said angrily.
” Don’t be angry, am sure he is just trying to ease her tears”.
“Yeah, right”. She scoffs.” He will get it from me for allowing another woman into his arms and he even offers her a ride”. She said angrily.
“Hmm, someone is jealous”. Nina tease.
” I will make him pay for this”.
“Don’t be too hard on him”. She said.
