ALEXANDER POV
I know what I perceive when I get out of my car, she is the only woman I know who has that type of fragrance, I have gotten used to her smell while she was still working for me. It’s been a month and I can’t seem to get her off my head, I felt her presence in the house every time and I wished I could have her back. My engagement to Nora doesn’t change what I feel for her, I had to get engaged to her because of my mother’s wishes, her illness became worse and she was diagnosed with cancer, it was just an early stage, so, fast medication can be done to treat it, she was desperate for me to be with Nora for me to see her happy, I had to do what she wishes for, I can’t afford to lose her now, she still means the world to me.
I was still lost in thought when I got a knock on the door and one of my employees walked in holding two files.
👨💼 “Good Morning sir”. he greeted me with a bow and placed two files in front of me.”These are the files of two people qualified for the vacancies, we need you to choose the one that will be your personal secretary, their performances are in the files,”.he said.
“Ok, I will check on it later and I will call you when I am done”.
👨💼” Okay sir”. He bows and then walks away.
I sighed and started to get myself busy for the mail of the day. After an hour of working, I decided to take a look at the files, although I have been hunting for a personal Secretary for a while now after the one that was with me got married and quit the job, a lot has come to apply, but they were not qualified enough for the position. I picked up the first file and glanced through it, I was amazed by her performance and she was quite pretty because her passport was attached to her files, I closed it and put it back on the table, I picked up the other file and open it, I stood up quickly as I saw who it was, I take a proper look to be sure if it was her.
“Aurora?”. I questioned confusedly as her full details were stated on her files and I was quite impressed by her performance, I never knew she was a second-class graduate. I smile curved my face as I sat down and dialed a number on my telephone.” Come to my office”. I hung up and continued staring at the files.”She was here today, no wonder I perceive her fragrance”. I said to myself and there was a knock on my door, he entered and walked closer to my desk.” I have made my choice, she will be my personal secretary”. I said as I handed over the file to him, he glanced through it for a while and returned his gaze to me.”Call her to resume tomorrow, same with the other lady, she got the position of a distributor”.
👨💼”Okay sir”.
” You can go”.
👨💼”Thank you, sir”. he bowed and left.
“Finally, I got to see you again Aurora”. I fell loose on the chair swinging myself at the same time smiling to myself.

NARRATOR POV
Later in the evening, Aurora was having dinner with her grandmother when her cell phone rang, she picked it up quickly knowing who the caller was.
” Hello,” she said and there was a pause and then her face brightened up. “Yes, sir, ok, thank you”. She hung up.
” You got the job?”.
“Yes Granny, they asked me to come tomorrow, but I don’t know the position yet”. She said.
” Congratulations dear”.
“Thank you”. she said and they continued their meal.

AURORA POV
I got to the company early with full confidence, immediately I stepped out of the elevator and got a cold look from Judith, I ignored her and sat down a little far away from her, just then the man came over smiling at us and we stood up quickly.
👨💼” Good Morning ladies, we are pleased to announce to you that you two got the job, but one of you was chosen to be the boss’s secretary”.
“Yeah, I know I will be chosen”. Judith said boldly.
👨💼” Yeah, so the person that was chosen for the position is no other than Miss Aurora Smith”.
I was shocked to hear my name and I couldn’t hide my joy.
“What? How is that even possible”. Judith said angrily.”She is not worth the position, just look at her, I am sure he seduced the boss to get the position”. She fabricated.
“That’s not true, I don’t even know him”. I said trying to defend myself.
” Liar!”.
👨💼 “That’s enough, Aurora you can go to the boss’s office, he will like to see you, and you follow me”.
” Ok, sir”.I said and turned to leave.
“You won’t get away from this”. She said and left with the man while I was directed to the boss’s office.
I got to the office and I gasped for air, it was mighty and exclusive with trophies lavished on the shelf, I noticed a familiar muscular body facing the window while sipping from his drink
“Um, Good Morning sir”. I greeted and waited for a response. I stood still waiting for him to turn in my direction.
Just then he made a turn in my direction, I froze and opened my mouth widely as I almost lost my balance. The face I had yawned for a month was standing right in front of me and he was also the CEO of this company, just then my stomach growled embarrassing the moment, I didn’t had breakfast before I left the house, and I was in a hurry because I slept late, I stare at him to see him trying not to laugh.
” You didn’t have breakfast this morning didn’t you?”. he asked.
“Um, no I was late, so I didn’t get the chance to eat”. I replied nervously.
” Come on, let’s go grab something for you to eat”. He said and tried to walk, but I stopped him.
“No, You don’t have to, beside is my first day of resumption, so… I got interrupted.
” I don’t care, you are not new to me, this is not the first we have met Aurora, you are my Secretary now, so you are going to do as I have said, ok?”. he said and I gulped nervously. “Now, we understand each other, so follow me”. He walked away and I followed him behind quickly.
We came across other staff and they were looking at us whispering to each other and I could hear what they were saying.
👩💼” Who is she?”
👩🦱”Why is she with the boss? did he hire a new secretary?”
👩🦰” I guess so”.
They continued talking and I sighed, then we got to his car and drove off to a nearby restaurant, the place was amazing and we were ushered to a vacant space, we sat down and I made an order of I want, not too long after, the meal was brought to me and I started eating. I became nervous with the way he was staring at me and not eating, instead, he folded his arms.
“Aren’t you eating?”. I asked with my mouth full.
” No, I had my breakfast already”. he replied with his gaze still resting on me.
“Ok”. I said and lowered my head to my food avoiding his gaze.
” Aurora”. he called and raised my head to him.
I was caught off guard by his action as he used his handkerchief to wipe a food particle stuck at the corner of my lips, I swallowed hard.
“Thank you”. I said nervously and continued eating.
Some minutes later, we arrived at the company and I was introduced to my office, unfortunately, my office was facing his office, and I could view everything in his office, when someone came to see him in his office, they had to approach my desk first before going in. I was satisfied with the arrangement of my new office.
” You like your new office?”. he interrupted.
“Yes sir, I like it”. I sputtered.
” Sure, you deserve it, so, can I sit?”. he asked and stared confusedly at him
Why will he be asking me if he can sit, this whole place belongs to him, so, he can do whatever he wants.
“Um, yes sir”.
” Thank you”. he said and sat down.
“Is there something you want me to do?”.
” No, but I just want to say that I am quite impressed by your performance, I didn’t know you were this intelligent”.
“Um, thank you, sir”.
” I am glad you are here and I hope we can work together to make this organization great”.
“Yes sir, I will do everything possible to do my best”.
” And I trust you on that”. He smiled and stood up to leave.”Anyway, enjoy your stay”. he left to his office.
I continued to place things in order in my new office when someone interrupted me.
👩🦳”Hi”.
I raise my face to see an elegant lady in glasses smiling at me.”Hello”. I replied with a smile.
“Are you the new Secretary to the boss?”. She asked.
” Yes, am Aurora Smith”. I introduced.
“Nice to meet you, am Kessy, one of the staff here”.She introduced.” Anyway, am so happy that you are part of us now but different though, we would like to welcome you by hanging out with us after work”.
“Hang out?”.
” Yes, we usually do this for our new staff, is a tradition here, we always treat our work as a night out, so, get yourself prepared”.
“Okay, thank you”. I replied.
” See you soon Aurora”. She waves at me and walks away.
I smiled after her and I noticed she was kind of cool and friendly, suddenly, I noticed someone’s gaze on me, I turned to his office and he turned his face away quickly, I guess he noticed I saw him staring. I sighed and turned to continue what I was doing.
