ALEXANDER POV
The Scream of a familiar person woke me up from my sleep, I turned in that direction to see Nora beside me on the bed and both of us were half-naked under the blanket.
“What have you done?!”. She sobs
I was confused because I couldn’t remember what happened last night. I kept staring confusedly at her as she kept sobbing and feeling guilty about whatever things that happened between us. After a long while, we were both seated at the dining.
” I don’t know what happened”. I said breaking the silent mood between the two of us. “Please, can you tell how we both ended up in the same bed naked”? I asked and she stared angrily at me as she picked up her bag and dashed out of the house. I sighed tiredly.” Gosh! What have you done Alex! try to remember”.

I came to my company late to see Richard waiting for me in my office.
“What happened man?”. he asked immediately after he sight my presence. I left to sit down looking moody.” Why are you like this? Did something happen?”.
“Can we go out and get a drink?”. I asked.
” Alex is ten pm in the morning and is too early for a drink, what happened to you?”.
” I think I messed up”.
“How?”.
” Last night when I got home, I saw Nora fixing dinner, and I was surprised to see her, but she told me it was her birthday and she wanted to celebrate it with me…” I sighed.
“And…”
“I accepted, we settled our differences and she agreed not to bother me about the engagement since she knew I liked someone else, we ate and drank, and now this morning I woke up due to her scream beside me, and we were both naked under the blanket”. I said.
” What?!!! Alex, what have you done?”. He said surprisedly.
“I don’t remember what happened, the only thing I remember was drinking with her in the living room after we had our dinner”.
” Oh no, this is not good”.He sighed tiredly.”You mean you can’t remember what happened?”.
“No, I am so confused right now and she is angry that I took advantage of her”.
” Oh sh!t”.
“I am so confused right now”.
” Don’t worry everything will be fine”.
“How? I am confused”.
” Just stay calm and everything will be fine”.
“I hope so”.I let out a deep sigh.

Some weeks later, everything was going well, Nora refused to pick up my calls or even return my messages, I kept trying to remember what transpired that night, but nothing. I was still pondering on it in my office when Aurora’s voice jolted me out of my thoughts.
” Are you okay?”. She asked calmly and I raised my face to her.
“Yeah, everything is fine”. I forced a smile.
” But you don’t look like one”. She moved closer to me and felt my forehead and my cheek.”Your body temperature is normal.
“I am fine”. I took her hand and kissed it.
For weeks now, I hadn’t gotten close to her, I was trying to occupy myself with work to erase the memory of that night and I knew she was worried.
” But I have been observing you for some weeks now, is there something I should know?”. She asked and I pulled her closer as I encircled my arms around her waist resting my head on it and she caressed my hair, I felt loved and cared for in her hand
“Nothing to worry about”. I said and at that moment I wanted to tell her what was going on, but I couldn’t, because I didn’t want to hurt her feelings.
” What the heck is going on here?”
Nora’s voice interrupted us and we pulled away from each other quickly, I turned to see the dangerous look on her face.
“Nora?”. I called surprisedly standing up.
” I will be in my office”. She walks away and Nora stares after her angrily.
“Nora, you are here, please sit”. I said.
” I am not sitting down Alex! That’s not the reason why I am here “. She said rudely.
” Why are you here? I called you severally for us to talk about that night, but you didn’t answer my calls”.
“That’s because I don’t want to, I needed to clear my head of what happened and now I am here to give you this”. She brought out a brown envelope from his handbag and placed it on my desk.
” What is this for?”. I asked confusedly.
“Why not see for yourself”. She said with her hands crossed.
I took the envelope and brought out a white paper that was inside, I opened it to see what was written inside. I froze in shock to see it was a pregnancy test result.
” Nora, w-w-“. I sputtered confusedly.
“That is the result of what happened between us that night Alex, as you know, I am three weeks gone!”. She said and my heart flinched.” You know what to do, no child of mine is to be born out of wedlock”. She said angrily and left my office.
I stared after her to see her stop at Aurora’s office for a while and then left. I was dumbfounded and confused as I kept glancing at the result. I raise my face to see Aurora looking at me with a concerned look. I sighed and picked up my phone and the result and I came out.
“Are you going out?”. She asked.
” Yes, am heading to Richard’s company, in case I don’t come back, you can round everything up”.
“Okay, but is everything okay?”.
” Yes, but I promise to tell you all about it very soon, okay?”. I caressed her face and she smiled.
“Just be careful okay?”.
“I will”. I kissed her forehead and walked away.
Some hours later, Richard and I came to the bar to drink and I showed him the test result.
” I knew this was going to happen, what did she say?”.
“Nothing much, she said no child of mine is going to be born out of wedlock”. I sighed and gulped my glass of champagne.
” I knew this was her plan to tie you with hers, what did she gain by doing all this? You know your mother will support her one hundred percent if she finds out she is carrying your child”. Richard said and I know he was right.
“I don’t want to do this, but I can’t escape from it, all evidence is crystal clear that I am responsible for that pregnancy”.
” What are you going to do now?”.
“I don’t know Richard, I am as confused as you are right now”.
” How about telling her to get rid of the pregnancy”.
“You think she will do that? Even my mother will never allow that to happen”.
” Then what do you want to do? You want to get married to her and take responsibility for the baby?”. He sighed tiredly. “You and I know you don’t have any feelings for Nora, getting married to her will be like torture for eternity”.
” I don’t want to, is like I am stuck between”.
“Have you told Aurora?”.
” No, although she is kind of suspecting something is wrong with me, I don’t want to hurt her”.
“She will be hurt once she knows the truth”.
” how did I get myself involved in all these?”.I said sadly
“Just chill out, everything will be fine”.
A few hours later, my driver drove me home, I called him to come pick me up after getting drunk. I came down from the car and was staggering on my feet, suddenly, my eyes caught sight of Aurora standing on the veranda.
” Aurora?”. I rushed to her and hugged her tight in my arms. “You are here, I am so happy that you are here”.
” Yeah, I came to see if everything is okay with you”. She said holding me back.
“No, everything is not fine, I messed up Aurora, I messed up, please don’t leave me, stay by my side”. I sniffed and she pulled away from me slowly and cupped my face.
” I am not leaving you, Alex, I will stand by you”. She said firmly and hugged her in my arms, not too long after a black cloud covered my eyes and I blanked out on her body.
The next morning, I woke up feeling one side head migraine headaches, I remember hugging Aurora Last night before I blanked out.
“Aurora”. I called wondering if she was still around but no response from her, I stood up and left for the living room and I saw the dining table arranged with breakfast.” Aurora”. There was no response, I guess maybe she left. I sat down and started eating her delicious breakfast, then my eyes caught sight of a paper and something was written on it.
Aurora:Enjoy your breakfast and I will see you in the office later.
I read and smiled and continued eating.

Days passed and my mind was still occupied with confusion, I kept ignoring Nora’s calls, not until I got a call from my mom asking me to come to the house or she would have no choice but to come to mine, I had no choice, I guess Nora has told them about the pregnancy.
The next day, I drove to my mom’s house and I could see the angry look she was giving me and Nora was sobbing beside her while my grandfather sat down looking confused as well.
“What did you do to Nora? She won’t stop crying and she said you are the cause”. My mother said angrily and I sighed.
” Son, what did you do to her?”.My grandfather asked, but I kept quiet then my mother turned to Nora.
“Nora, what happened? What did Alex do to you?”.
“Alex has refused to take responsibility for his actions, he kept ignoring me for days” she sniffed.
” What do you mean?”.
“Mom, something transpired between Alex and me some weeks ago and it resulted in something good”.
” What are you talking about?”. My mother asked confusedly.
“Mom, am pregnant”. She announced and I could see the surprisedly look on my mother and grandfather’s faces.
” What?”.My grandfather asked.
“Yes, am pregnant for Alex”. She said and they turned their faces at me waiting for my response.
