“Uncle?” Hazel raised a brow.

Hazel never met his uncle, so she was a bit surprised.

YOU ARE MINE BAD BOY : CHAPTERS 31 – 40

“What are you doing here?” Xavier asked in shock.

He didn’t expect to see them. He wondered if it was a mere coincidence or if they knew he was going to be there.

What did they want for him? They already had the properties of his father. Were they here to end his life or hurt his mother?

“I am a businessman. I came here for some work, I never knew that you were in Washington,” Jim lied with a fake smile.

“Xavier, how have you been doing?” Clarke asked with a sweet voice that was forced. “How is your mother?”

“I don’t think either of you have the right to ask that after trying to kill both of them,” Hazel said, not mincing her words.

“Miss Hazel, we don’t know what you’re talking about,” Jim feigned innocence.

“You know exactly what I’m talking about, but this isn’t the right place to have this sort of conversation. But I’ll give you a stern warning. If you dare repeat what you did in California. I’m gonna have your heads,” Hazel threatened.

“Girl, you don’t who you’re dealing with,” Clarke sneered, hating Hazel’s guts.

“No, you don’t who you’re messing with. The devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know. I’m no angel and I’m not going to waste time in ending your lives, so watch out and keep your bloody claws in your pockets,” Hazel snarled.

“Let’s see whose life ends first,” Clarke bragged with a smirk.

“Hazel, let’s go. You don’t have to continue this with them,” Xavier said, holding her hand and pulling her behind him. “I don’t know why both of you are here but I don’t want my father’s wealth back. You’ve been enjoying it for years and I knew where to find you both, but I never tried,”

“So please, leave my mother and me alone. Leave Hazel out of your schemes and unnecessary hate. Don’t start a war when there’s no need for one. You can continue enjoying my father’s money until you die, but karma will get both of you one day,” Xavier spat and pulled Hazel away from there.

Hazel glanced at them and simply smirked.

The party continued as usual and Hazel happily stayed for every activity or speech at the party. She was excited for her acquaintance and wouldn’t let the appearance of Xavier’s wicked relatives ruin her night.

Xavier, who was seated beside her, was still upset by everything. He couldn’t believe that his evil uncle and aunt had the guts to show their faces.

“Hey,” Hazel held his hand.

“Hm,” He hummed.

“They want you to be sad and afraid, but you can’t give them that pleasure. They’ve messed with your life enough. You’ve got to show them that you’re more mature now and stronger. Wipe that frown off your face and be happy,” Hazel encouraged.

“Thanks,” Xavier smiled, squeezing her hand gently. “I love you…”

“Xavier, I love you too. I always have,” Hazel muttered with a beam.

The party continued and ended around 10 pm. After it ended, Hazel went to greet her acquaintance and then she left with Xavier.

Hazel told the driver to exit the car because she was going to drive and though, Xavier spoke against it, she insisted.

“Wear your seatbelt,” Hazel urged.

“Done,” Xavier wore his seat belt.

“Perfect,” Hazel grinned, starting her car.

Her bodyguards started their car, which was behind hers. She always took her guards to events like the anniversary party.

“Hazel,”

“Huh?” Hazel looked at him.

“There’s something I should have given you years ago, but I never did,” Xavier sighed, bringing out a necklace from his pocket. “It’s outdated and kind of rusty now, but it’s something I wanted to give my first love,”

“I lost contact with you that night, so I didn’t have a chance to give it,”

Hazel’s eyes suddenly teared up at the sight of it. Recalling that night made her sad and happy at the same time.

“It’s beautiful,” Hazel smiled, taking the necklace with a heart shape attached to it. The first letter of his name was also there.

“It’s kind of cheesy, but it’s something that I hold dear,” Xavier grinned.

“It’s okay, I love it,” Hazel sniffed and wore it on her neck.

She brought out a mirror from her bag and checked herself. The necklace suited her.

“I’m glad you like it,” Xavier smiled, proud to see it on her.

“Thank you, love,” Hazel whispered, keeping her mirror back in her bag.

“My pleasure,” He pulled her closer and kissed her lips.

Hazel sighted a car moving from the corner of her eye and she pulled away from the kiss.

She started driving and began following the car. Xavier wondered where they were going but he kept quiet.

“I want you to watch how your father’s killers will lose their lives,” Hazel smirked.

“What do you mean?” Xavier asked in confusion.

But suddenly, Hazel started chasing after the car. The car noticed this and started speeding.

“Hazel, what are you doing!”

Hazel kept chasing after the car and soon, the car lost control.

Clarke and Jim were in the car. Jim tried tapping on the brakes but they weren’t working. He tried hard, but before he could suggest jumping out of the car, their car collided with a trailer.

Hazel brought her car to a halt at a safe distance, and Xavier watched as the car collided against the trailer and blew up to pieces.

Xavier’s eyes widened in horror.

“They’re dead. No one will hurt you now, love,” Hazel smiled, holding his hand.
