She used one of her free hands to touch the space beside her and it was empty. She opened her eyes and turned around only to see Hiro playing a game with his father’s phone, he was seated on the single sofa chair inside the room.

Samira breathed in relief, she and Zinedine were so tired and didn’t make Hiro sleep in their middle.

“What? You thought I had been kidnapped?” Hiro said before adding. “Good morning mum.”

Samira chuckled. “I will just pity those kidnappers, anyway, you were so tired last night and had one of those your longer sleep looks and when I told your dad you will be waking up in 2 days time or more, he told me you will wake up today and true to his words you did.”

Removing his eyes from the phone to stare at his mother. “And did he tell you the reason why I am doing that?”

“Yes, he told me your powers are manifesting so it will soon stop and since he is closer to you, you won’t be sleeping for as long as before.” Samira answered, getting up from the bed and making sure she shook Zinedine too so that he should wake up. Checking the time it was almost 8am and he needs to be at his office.

“Good,” Hiro said. He is going to remind his father about the promise he made to him in the office.

Samira shook Zinedine again, waking him up this time around.

“What mum?” he playfully said, pretending to close his eyes.

“This is almost 8.” Samira said as she emphasized the time.

“So?” Zinedine uttered, opening his eyes to look at her. His brows furrowed in confusion. He sat up on the bed.

“So you better get your arse up and go to work.” she reminded him.

Oh that? Zinedine thought.

“Don’t worry, I am not going to work today. I want to spend today with you and my son.”

“What? You are not going to work today?” Samira asked in surprise.

Zinedine and Hiro snorted at the same time.

“Don’t worry mum, he is not going to go broke because he missed work today.” Hiro chips in from where he sat.

“Please tell her son.”
