The light tap that Adelaide was feeling was what woke her up from her sleep, she sat on the bed and stretched.
Morning Emily ‘s cute voice snapped her out and she quickly opened her eyes to see the girl smiling at her.
“How was your night?” She asked the girl.
“It was so fine , I love sleeping beside you” the girl said honestly and they both came down from the bed.
“Do you know how I got on the bed? I was sleeping on the couch last night” Adelaide asked curiously. She can’t remember going to the bed herself.
“I don’t know, maybe you came in yourself but you are too sleepy to remember” Emily said smartly and she smiled.
“It’s possible, this is just six in the morning, and you are not going to school today because it is weekend, so why did you wake up very early?” Adelaide asked.
“I want to stay with you in the kitchen, I want to learn how to cook,” she said cutely.
“I am impressed that you are saying that, but you are too young for that, maybe when you are ten” Adelaide said.
“That’s too far, I want to learn the way you cook, it is so delicious, please teach me” she said.
“Emily, you can’t even do anything yet, just enjoy the food while I cook everything “ Adelaide said.
“I really want to learn, I won’t say anything, I will just sit there and watch everything in silence, I won’t disturb you” Emily said with a pout.
“I guess you won’t listen to me, let go then, but you are not going to touch anything right?” Adelaide asked.
“Yeah I promise, “ Emily said and smiled cutely.

They entered the big kitchen and saw the maid already preparing the ingredients.
“I guess I am late today, I am sorry” Adelaide apologize and drop Emily on a counter, then the start cooking, Emily was watching everything in awe, she has never enter the kitchen before and everything seen new to her, she admired the way Adelaide was cutting the onions and veggies carefully and the way they started cooking, the sweet aroma coming from the sauce she was frying, she was happy that she knows someone like her.
“So do you want to have a taste of this sauce?” Adelaide asked with a smile.
“Sure Emily said and pointed one of her fingers, Adelaide added a little to it and she tasted it.
“It’s so delicious , I am rating you ten out of ten” Emily said.
“The food stuffs are almost finished, “ Adelaide said while checking the storage room.
“Yeah, we are actually planning to go shopping today,” Stacy said.
“Then I will go with you guys” Adelaide said and the other maid rolled their eyes secretly, which Emily saw.
“You don’t have to stress yourself, we can go ourselves” the maids said.
“I really want to go, there is some food I really want the family to try, that is the main reason I am going” she said and they nodded.
“So when are we going?” She asked.
“How about later in the afternoon?” Stacy said.
“Sure then” Adelaide smiled.
“We should start arranging the table” she said and the maid went out. Mrs Everest suddenly came into the kitchen and her eyes widened, she suddenly dragged confused Adelaide to the sitting room. The children are there with Mr Everest.
“Do you know what she did?” Mrs Everest asked loudly, which got all their attention.
“What are you talking about mum?” Adelaide asked gently as Stacy brought Emily to the place.
“She was so inconsiderate, can you believe she took Emily to the kitchen” Mrs Everest said and everyone looked at her.
“Yeah I do, she was the one that Insisted on following me to the kitchen, she said she wanted to learn how to cook” Adelaide said gently.
“Imagine what she is saying, even if she said that, are you supposed to listen to her, did she look like someone that is supposed to be entering the kitchen, she is an Everests, she is not supposed to be seen in the kitchen with the maid” Mrs Everest shouted.
“Mum I don’t know why you are saying all this, sister in-law said she is the one that wanted to follow her to the kitchen” Nicholas said.
“Shut up” Mrs Everest snapped at him.
“It’s okay, it’s nothing serious” Noah finally said from where he was sitting.
“I am just worried, what if something hot touches her and she gets burned not to imagine the hot heat coming from the gas” Mrs Everest said.
“She was near the gas at her, the kitchen is very big” Adelaide said and received a glare from Delaney which surprised her a little.
“At least she was okay, nothing of such happened to her so mummy calmed down” Nicholas said.
“That’s true, mummy” Autumn smiles and Mrs Everest rolls her eyes secretly. The look that Delaney was giving Autumn was so hard and deadly but Autumn didn’t even know. Fransisco was losing his patience already but was still trying to calm down.
“I understand you are worried about her, but I trust Adelaide, she will never do anything that will hurt my child” Noah said without looking up and Adelaide can feel her head swollen in joy, she was happy that he defended her.
“You guys are not understanding my point……….”
“Stop overreacting Theresa, the food is ready” Mr Everest cut her off and they all went to sit at the dining since the maid has arranged the table.
“I won’t stop saying this, you are really a great cook sister in law” Nicholas said and smiled at her.
“You guys haven’t eaten anything yet, if you taste my special food, you will be surprised” Fransisco finally said.
“Wow I can’t wait then” Autumn said which made Delaney scoff.
“Don’t forget that I want to see you in my office later,” Mr Everest said.
“Okay dad” Adelaide said and they started eating in silence though Mrs Everest was just glaring at Adelaide. The fact that all her plans were working was driving her crazy.

Adelaide enters the office and looks around nervously, she doesn’t know why he wanted to see her and that is causing fear. Had she done something wrong, she can’t imagine, she saw him going through some books.
“Afternoon dad” she greeted nervously and he looked at her.
“You can seat your daughter” he said and she sat opposite him.
“I called you here because I want to have some important talks with you” he said and she nodded.
“So ,how did you see your married life? I hope you are not regretting the marriage?” Mr Everest asked.
“Surprisingly I am not, I am happy I have a daughter like Emily” she said and Mr Everest smile.
“Do you know we don’t actually know her mother?” Mr Everest said.
“Wow really?” Adelaide asked in surprise.
“Yeah, when Noah was in college, I will always talk because of his playboy way, he slept with different girls and was known all over the college. Few months after he graduated from college, a baby trolley was dropped at the villa gate, thank goodness the guards found it earlier. Inside the troller, we saw little Emily and a letter.
In the letter, it says Emily was just three months old so they are handing her over to her father to take care of her. We went for a DNA test and realized she is really his daughter, you too can see their resemblance right, we believe Emily mother is one of the women that he has been sleeping around with but we don’t know the person till now” Mr Everest said.
“Poor girl, so she grew up without a mother” Adelaide mutters sadly, now she has made up her mind to take good care of Emily just like her own.
“So after Noah has Emily, he suddenly changes his way, it is like the girl changed him, he loves his daughter more than anything “Mr Everest said.
“I can understand and I saw it too,” she smiled.
“So the reason I called you, I saw the way you are doing everything and I know right away that you are not the lazy girl, so I was thinking if there are any businesses you have interest in so that I can help you with it” Mr Everest said.
“Really dad?, But I haven’t had any business in mind “ she said.
“Then I will give you time to think about it, is five days going to be enough?” He asked.
“More than enough, thank you so much “ Adelaide smiled. He noticed that he groaned and dropped the file he was reading on the table.
“I hope all is well sir?” She asked gently.
“Yeah it’s just that I wanted to create an automobile industry in Africa but I don’t know the country that is suitable, “ he said.
“I recommend South Africa and Nigeria, the countries that know about technology and I am sure it will work out,” she said.
“That’s true, but how do you know?” He asked gently.
“I study business administration in college, I graduated two years ago,” Adelaide said.
“Wow, then why are you working as an ordinary waitress?” Mr Everest asked.
“It’s a long story and I don’t want to talk about it now,” she said.
“I understand, I think I know what to do now, I will get back to you” Mr Everest said and Adelaide bow respectfully and left.

Adelaide went out of the mansion and met Stacy waiting with the two maids.
“I am sorry that I am late” she apologized and a big car stopped beside them. Nicholas came out and Stacy quickly looked down as her heart beat loudly.
“I heard you are following them to the market, so I am tagging along” he said with a smile.
“You don’t have to stress yourself,” she said.
“No he can come” Stacy said but quickly covered her mouth as all of them looked at her weirdly.
“I mean he isn’t going to work today since it is the weekend, so he can come if he wants to,” Stacy said again and looked down nervously when she saw Nicholas looking at her.
“She is right, not like I am going anywhere” he smiled.
“Get in” he told the maids and they all entered the passenger seat. He opened the front door for Adelaide and she entered, the car drove out immediately. Stacy was grinning from ear to ear and she stared at him from where she was seated. The other maids looked at her and scoffed. They arrive at the mall and start shopping since they have a lot of things to buy.

They were finally done with shopping and it was evening and they were all looking tired.
“We won’t be shopping for the next three months,” Stacy smiles. They all entered the big bus and were about to go but Nicholas suddenly stopped and leaned over Adelaide and started doing something.
“Isn’t that your wife and your brother?” Stanley asked Noah, they are both inside a car, they have been hanging out and he was heading home.
“I think they are the one,” Noah muttered.
“Are they kissing?” Stanley asked in surprise. Truly watching their position from the angle looks like they are kissing.
“I don’t care” he scoffed and drove away, though his mind was troubled and he was angry.
“I help you to fasten your seatbelt” Nicholas said after he was done.
“You should have just told me” Adelaide mutters and they return home in silence.

Noah came into their mansion and ignores Adelaide totally, he can smell the aroma of the food she cook but he is not ready to eat. He enter the bathroom to take his showers and came out fully dress, he walk past her.
“Noah” she called as he was about to get to the door and he stopped to look at her, the image of her and his stepbrother kissing got to his head and felt so much anger at the moment.
“What do you want?” He asked.
“It’s been a week since we are married, I just want to know if you still remember our deal?” She asked nervously.
“I remember,” he said and she smiled.
“Thanks, I almost thought you forgot since you don’t talk about it” she said.
“I didn’t forget but I am not doing the deal, I am not helping you like I promise” he said with a smirk and the smile disappeared from her face.
