“Get me the gun!” he slammed his fist on the counter and the officers at the counter flinched.
“I just need a gun and I will appreciate it if you hand it over to me now. I can’t believe you’re refusing me, officer. I’m Marcus Blackwoood”
“I understand who you are, Mr Marcus, but I can’t just hand over a weapon without proper procedure. You need to calm down and tell me what’s going on”
Marcus’s face reddened with anger, but he seemed to realize that he wasn’t getting anywhere. He took a deep breath and slowly exhaled, his shoulders relaxing slightly.
“Fine, I’ll calm down. But I need that gun” he said and the officer hesitated, then nodded.
“Okay, Mr Marcus. But first, let’s talk about what’s going on. What’s got you so upset?”
Marcus ran a hand through his hair, his eyes closed.
“It’s Natalie,She’s been threatening my daughter, Hazel” he said and the officer’s expression turned serious.
“How do you know this, sir? How did you find out about the threats?”
“I know because my daughter was acting strange yesterday. She was shaking and crying, and she wouldn’t tell me what was wrong. I had to dig it out of her, and even then, she was too scared to say much”
He paused, his jaw clenched.
“So I told Jenkins, my bodyguard, to check the CCTV cameras in the house. And what he found…it made my blood boil”
“What did the footage show, sir”
“It showed Natalie threatening Hazel. My little girl was shaking like a leaf, her eyes wide with fear. And Natalie…she was smiling, enjoying it. Enjoying scaring my child” Marcus’ fist clenched in anger.
“Now you see why I want that gun. She deserves to be killed. How dare she threaten my child? How dare she think she can get away with it?”
“I see, Mr Marcus. And I promise you, we will take care of Natalie. But please, let us handle it. We can’t let you take the law into your own hands”
“I understand, officer, but I want to see her pay for what she’s done. I want to be there when you arrest her, when you take her away. I want her to know that she messed with the wrong family”
“I understand, sir. And I’ll make sure that you’re involved in the process. But for now, let’s focus on getting the evidence we need to build a case against Natalie. Can you show me the footage?”
Marcus nodded and pulled out his phone, scrolling through the footage Jenkins sent to him until he found the relevant section.
“This is good evidence, we can use this to get a warrant for Natalie’s arrest. Mr. Blackwood, I promise you, we will take care of this. We’ll make sure Natalie pays for what she’s done”
“Good. I want to be there when you take her down. I want to see her face when you cuff her and read her her rights”
“I’ll make sure you’re there, Marcus. but for now, let’s focus on building the case. We’ll get Natalie, and we’ll make sure she pays for what she’s done” the officer assured.
“I don’t think she’s working alone and her intentions to me aren’t pure,she even has a gun in possession”
“Let’s take it from here sir,we will have to monitor her closely and see what she’s up to. She has no idea that you know she threatened your daughter right?”
“She doesn’t know that. I might just kill her myself when I see her”
“Don’t take law in your hands,Mr Marcus. You can also start monitoring her movements and report back to us, don’t get her suspicious”
“Okay. I’m counting on you guys to do your work perfectly” Marcus said and with that,he left the station.

VALDORIA KINGDOM*
Calantha came out from her room, dressed in a elegant outfit, her long hair styled perfectly. She was about to head out for a morning ride when a guard approached her.
“Princess Calantha, the King summons your presence in his chamber” the guard said.
Calantha’s heart skipped a beat. What could her father want with her? She hadn’t done anything wrong, had she?
“When did he summon me?” she asked, trying to sound calm.
“Now, Princess. He wants to see you immediately” the guard replied and Calantha nodded. She followed the guard to the King’s chamber.
What did the King want with her? It’s not about her relationship with Prince Henry right? Did he find out?
She took a deep breath and entered the King’s chamber, her head held high. King Ryker was already waiting for her.
“Calantha, my dear, I have some news to share with you” he said.
Calantha curtsied, her eyes fixed on the floor.
“Yes, Father?”
“You are to be married to Prince Edric of the neighboring kingdom” King Ryker announced, his words dropping like a bombshell.
Calantha’s head jerked up, her eyes wide with shock and horror.
“What?! No, Father! I won’t do it!”
“It’s a royal decree, Calantha. You will marry Prince Edric and secure an alliance between our kingdoms”
“I refuse! I won’t marry some stranger just to further your political ambitions!”
“You will do as you’re told, Calantha. This is not a request, it’s a command”
“I won’t do it! You can’t force me!”
“Try me, Calantha. I am your king and your father. You will obey me”
“You did this to Dominic and Katharina, and now you’re trying to do the same to me? I won’t let you! You’re just going to ruin my life like you almost ruined theirs! They ran away away to escape your stupid arranged marriage and I will do the same, horrible father!”
“How dare you? You ungrateful child!” King Ryker got angry.
He raised his hand and slapped Calantha across the face, leaving a red mark on her cheek and she winced painfully.
“You will do as I say, or you will suffer the consequences!” he thundered.
Just then, Queen Lirian burst into the room.
“Ryker, what’s going on here?” she demanded, rushing to Calantha’s side.
Calantha’s eyes welled up with tears as she looked up at her mother.
“He’s trying to force me to marry Prince Edric, Mother. I won’t do it!”
Queen Lirian’s face hardened as she turned to the King.
“Ryker, how could you? After what happened with Dominic and Katharina, you’re doing the same thing again? I told you to refuse their offer, didn’t I?”
“Stay out of this, Lirian. This is none of your business”
“I will not stand by and watch you ruin our daughter’s life like you almost ruined our son’s and older daughter’s. They ran away Ryker,do you want Calantha to do the same?”
“Shut up Lirian!”
“I’m tired of this, Ryker. Forcing our children to marry someone they don’t love. We didn’t have to go through that, we married each other because we loved each other. Can’t we let our children have the same freedom?”
“Those bastards are no longer my children. They disobeyed me and brought shame to our family. I won’t make the same mistake with Calantha”
“Ryker, please. Don’t do this. I miss our children, I miss Dominic and Katharina. Don’t drive Calantha away too” she pleaded.
“Guards, take Calantha to the dungeon. She needs to learn a lesson for speaking to me like that”
“No, Ryker! Please! You can’t do this!”
“Father please”
“You will learn to obey me, Calantha. And you, Lirian, will learn to stay out of my way”
The guards dragged Calantha away, despite her pleas, Queen Lirian tried to follow, but King Ryker’s guards blocked her way.
“You will stay here, Queen Lirian. And you will learn to respect my authority”
Queen Lirian’s face was wet with tears as she watched her daughter being dragged away.

NEWYORK,THE BLACKWOOD MANSION*
Marcus sat in his parents’ living room, his eyes fixed on the screen of his phone. He had just shown them the footage of Natalie threatening Hazel, and they watched it in disbelief.
“Natalie? That’s hard to believe” Julian said, shaking her head.
“She seems like such a nice person. Are you sure it’s her?”
“I’m positive, Mom. I know it’s hard to believe, but I have proof”
“Marcus, we’re so sorry. We were blind to her true nature. We are so sorry for trying to force you to marry her…” Leonardo was saying.
“It’s okay, Dad. You were just thinking of what you thought was best for me. I know you didn’t mean any harm”
“Thanks for understanding”
“I’ve found someone else myself. Someone Hazel is comfortable with”
“Who is it?” Leonardo asked curiously.
“You’ll meet her soon enough. Just trust me, okay?”
Julian and Leonardo exchanged a glance, then nodded.
“Okay, son. We trust you”
“As for Natalie, we’ll play along for now. I want to know what she’s up to”
Julian and Leonardo nodded in agreement.
“We’ll do whatever it takes to protect you and Hazel” Julian said.
“Thanks, Mom and Dad. I appreciate it. I need to go home now, Hazel is the only one at home”he said.
“Alright son”
“And where are the twins?” He asked.
“They went to a birthday party of their classmate” Julian said.
“Okay,tell them I asked of them” he said and then left.

A DARK ROOM*
The door opened slowly, and Natalie walked in. The room was dark, but she flipped a switch and the lights came on. Katharina was sitting in a chair, her eyes closed. She was tied up with chains and couldn’t move.
Natalie smiled meanly and walked closer to Katharina. She was carrying a big bucket of water. She poured it all over Katharina’s head.
Katharina’s eyes opened instantly, and she started coughing. Water was pouring out of her mouth, and she was struggling to breathe. Natalie laughed in a way that wasn’t funny.
“Welcome back, Katharina” Natalie said in a mean voice.
Katharina was still processing how she got here, when only was she remembered was that she was at Mrs Gray store, planning to go home.
“What am I doing here?” She finally managed to ask.
“I need to pass a warning to you. Stay. Away. From. Marcus” she said picking her words.
“And why should I?”
“Oh please. Do as I said to stay out of trouble. You are hindering my plans , Katharina. I got Hazel under my control and now it’s your turn,you need to stay away from him”
“What did you do to Hazel?”
“Why do you care?”
“That’s not the answer to my question, Natalie”
“And you haven’t replied mine either,I said why do you care?”
“I won’t reply your question if mine isn’t answered”
“Hazel is just a pawn in my game. And soon, Marcus will be too”
Katharina struggled against the chains, but they were too tight.
“You’ll never get away with this, Natalie. Marcus will find out what you’re doing, and he’ll make sure you pay for it”
“I’m shaking in my boots. But until then, you’re going to stay here, and you’re going to learn to obey me”
Katharina spat in Natalie’s face.
“I’ll never obey you. And I’ll make sure Marcus knows what you’re doing”
“You’re going to regret that” She slapped Katharina hard on the face.
“You’ll never break me, Natalie. And Marcus will never be yours”
Natalie’s face twisted with anger, her hands closing around Katharina’s throat.
“We’ll see about that” she said, her grip tightening. Katharina struggled to breathe, her vision starting to blur. But just as suddenly, Natalie released her, a sinister smile spreading across her face.
“I have a better idea” she said. She left the room and seconds later she came back holding a pail of bucket.
Katharina’s eyes widened in horror as Natalie poured the contents of the bucket over her head. The liquid wasn’t water, but pepper water, and it burned her skin like fire. She screamed out bitterly, the pain and shock overwhelming her.
“Ahh! Oh God, please! Stop! Stop!” she begged, but Natalie just laughed maniacally.
“We’re just getting started”
Katharina’s screams grew louder and more desperate as the pepper water continued to burn her skin, her vision blurring from the intense pain. She was trapped, helpless, and at Natalie’s mercy.
