THE MISTRESS’ DAUGHTER : CHAPTER 31 – 40

(NERVOUS)
Mistress Morwen walked into Maledicta’s room, her eyes widening in surprise. The room was spotless, with not a single speck of dust or dirt in sight.
The walls, which were once a dull gray, were now a bright, sunny yellow, and there were intricate, beautiful designs etched into the walls.
“Wow, it’s really true,” Mistress Morwen said, her voice full of wonder. “You’ve finally cleaned up your room.”
Maledicta looked up from the book she was reading, a scowl on her face.
“What’s it to you?” she muttered.
Mistress Morwen smiled,”I’m just happy, that’s all.” She said.
“Can’t I do what I like anymore?”Maledicta scoffed, rolling her eyes.
Mistress Morwen chuckled, her eyes never leaving Maledicta’s face. “I’m happy for this new change in you,” she said, her voice sincere.
“Nothing’s changed,” she spat. “No one can ever change me.”
Mistress Morwen’s smile never wavered. “We’ll see about that,It looks like your sister likes him too.” She said.
Maledicta’s eyes narrowed, her face darkening. “
I don’t care about that, They can be together for all I care.”she said coldly.
“Are you sure?” Mistress Morwen asked calmly.
Maledicta’s face twisted in anger. “Mum, just leave,” she spat.
Mistress Morwen’s face lit up with a wide smile.
“I can’t believe you called me mom, I’ve been waiting for years to hear that.” She said.
Maledicta’s expression didn’t change.
“I know that boy is special,” Mistress Morwen said, her voice serious. “I did some checking on him, and he’s an ordinary human, but he may still be your helper. You shouldn’t let him go, Maledicta. Please don’t lose him.”
Maledicta didn’t respond, but Mistress Morwen could see the wheels turning in her mind. She knew that Maledicta was intrigued by Kaiden, and she was determined to make sure that Maledicta didn’t let him slip away.
As Mistress Morwen left the room, Maledicta couldn’t help but think about what her mother had said. She knew that Kaiden was special, but she had no idea just how special he was.
She thought back to the previous night, when she had seen Kaiden hugging Benedicta tightly. She had felt a pang of jealousy, but she had quickly pushed it aside.
Maledicta stood up and walked over to the mirror. She stared at her reflection, her eyes scanning her face and hair.
She touched her face, her fingers tracing the contours of her cheeks and jawline. She couldn’t help but think who’s more prettier between her and her sister, she slapped herself and snapped out of the silly thought.

Kaiden heard a voice calling from his door and went to open it and Aka standing there, a bright smile on her face.
Before he could even greet her, she pushed past him and entered his room.
“You have a nice room,” she said, looking around with interest.
Kaiden closed the door behind her, feeling a bit uneasy.
“What are you doing here?” he asked calmly, trying to hide his surprise.
Aka sat down on his bed, making herself at home.
“To see you, of course. Aren’t we friends?” she asked.
Kaiden raised an eyebrow. “We are, but I don’t think we’ve gotten to the extent of visiting each other’s rooms.” He said.
Aka laughed, a throaty sound that sent a shiver down Kaiden’s spine.
“It’s nothing, we should start somewhere. And I really want to get to know you.” She said.
