A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 101 – 110
He could call me whatever he wished; it didn’t change his fate. It didn’t change the fact that he was dying in her arms, and I was here to witness every last, glorious second.
Selene’s sobs grew louder, her fingers pressing into his skin as if she could keep him from slipping away, as if her touch alone could bind him here. Her eyes were wet, her cheeks streaked with tears as she looked at me with a mixture of horror and disbelief.
“How can you just stand there?” she choked, her voice raw. “How can you watch him die and… and smile?”
“Because, Selene,” I murmured, finally stepping closer, my gaze steady as I looked down at her. “He was nothing but a distraction. A nuisance. Someone who dared to tread where he didn’t belong.”
Her expression twisted with anger, her mouth opening as if to protest, but no words came. She simply held him tighter, her tears falling onto his face as his eyes began to dull, his strength finally abandoning him entirely.
I crouched beside her, my gaze cold as I watched the final vestiges of life slip from his body, his chest rising and falling in uneven, shallow breaths. He was almost gone now, a few more moments at best.
And then, I leaned in, my voice low, barely a whisper as I spoke into her ear. “Next time, Selene… limit how you touch another man in front of me.”
She shuddered, her eyes widening as my words sank in. The realization, the understanding of what this truly meant, of the control I held over her life and everyone within it, flickered across her face.
She’d finally seen the depths of what I was capable of, of the lengths I would go to keep her bound to me, and only me.
Liam’s body stilled in her arms, his final breath leaving him in a soft, defeated exhale. Selene’s shoulders slumped, her hands shaking as she cradled him, her eyes red and swollen as she stared at him, uncomprehending.
But I didn’t allow her the luxury of mourning. I reached out, my fingers brushing her chin as I tilted her face toward mine, forcing her to meet my gaze.
“Remember this,” I whispered, my voice a dark, dangerous promise. “Remember what happens when you defy me. When you allow another man to think he can hold any place in your life.”
Her lips parted, a soft, broken sound escaping her, but I silenced it with a gentle press of my finger against her mouth. “You are mine, Selene. And I do not share.”

A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL
LUCIFER SMILE.
I left Selene in the room, her sobs muffled by the thick walls. The sound echoed in my head, a relentless reminder of how everything had spiraled.
Liam’s lifeless form lay behind me, and Selene’s broken heart bled in ways I could feel in my own chest—a feeling I despised.
I stepped into the hallway, but I wasn’t alone for long. I felt the shift in the air before I even saw him.
Mammon, the Sin of Greed, appeared from the shadows, his lips twisted in that infuriatingly smug smile. Of course he’d show up now, basking in his own mess.
“Did you enjoy my little gift, Lucifer?” he asked, tilting his head in mock curiosity, his voice thick with satisfaction.
I clenched my jaw, holding his gaze with a glare. “Very funny of you, Mammon.” The words were cold, each one laced with barely contained rage. “Care to explain why you thought it was appropriate to bring him here?”
Mammon’s smirk widened. He leaned against the wall, crossing his arms like he had all the time in the world. “Oh, come now, Lucifer.
You know me—I simply couldn’t resist. Liam was just… a pawn. A simple spark in a game that was growing far too dull. I thought a little… disruption might spice things up.”
I took a step closer, my voice as sharp as a blade. “You’re meddling in things that don’t concern you, Mammon.
Was your greed so desperate for a fix that you’d risk disrupting everything for your petty amusement?”
