A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 111 – 120

I let the silence linger, then smiled, slowly. “And here I was keeping a gift for you.”

Her eyes darted up, suspicion flickering there, mingling with curiosity. “A… gift?” She looked at me warily, as though I might be toying with her, but I kept my expression patient, almost indulgent.

I didn’t answer immediately, just took a sip from my glass, savoring her confusion. A few moments passed before I made a subtle motion with my hand, signaling the door.

I watched her carefully, watched every change in her expression as the door opened, and someone stepped into the room.

Liam.

I didn’t take my eyes off her as she recognized him, as realization dawned, her body going still, breath catching.

A second later, she was out of her chair, crossing the distance between them like she might collapse if she didn’t reach him fast enough.

“Liam,” she whispered, her voice choked with disbelief, her hands searching over his shoulders, his face, his arms as if to confirm he was real. “Are you… are you okay? Are you fine?”

She was so lost in relief, so overcome, she missed the blankness in his eyes, the slight wariness in his stance. But then his hands came up, pushing her back, his gaze fixed on her, his expression blank.

“Who are you?” His voice was calm, almost detached, as if he were meeting her for the first time. And just like that, the reality shattered.

She froze, staring up at him, and then slowly turned to look back at me, horror etched into every line of her face.

“What did you do to him?” Her voice was hoarse, trembling, her body rigid as if to keep from collapsing.

I couldn’t hold back the chuckle that slipped out. “I brought him back,” I said, as if it were the simplest thing in the world.

“But…” Her voice cracked, her gaze flickering back to Liam, who stared at her like a stranger, his expression blank and confused.

“You wanted him alive, Selene,” I said with a grin that I knew would tear through her. “You never said anything about him remembering who you are.”

“Lucifer!” The desperation in her voice was exhilarating, fueling my amusement, and I relished every second of her despair.

“Oh, but since you want no part of the deal…” I trailed off, watching her face pale as she braced herself, waiting for whatever cruelty I might be about to unleash. “I might just kill him ag—”

“No!” She cut me off, her voice breaking with desperation, her whole body rigid with the force of it. “I… I’ll do it.” She took a breath, her voice trembling. “Please, don’t kill him.”

I leaned back, satisfaction spreading through me as I took in her surrender. “As I thought.” The laugh escaped me, dark and triumphant.

She’d do anything to keep him alive, even if it meant surrendering every shred of her freedom to me.

Her gaze was locked on me, her eyes filled with loathing, anger, defeat, and something else… something I couldn’t quite name, but that only fueled my victory.

She could hate me all she wanted; it only made her commitment to my terms all the more binding.

And in that moment, she was truly mine—her will, her choices, even her defiance bent to my whim.

I savored it, letting the silence stretch as she stood there, torn between her love for him and her hatred of me, a fragile balance that I controlled with ease.
