A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 121 – 130
I smiled, reveling in the way she tried to mask her reaction, and gestured for her to follow as we exited the plane.
The drive back to my mansion was silent, and Selene gazed out the window, her eyes reflecting the city lights as she took in the sights.
Every now and then, I’d catch her breath hitching, her gaze wide with awe. She looked captivated, almost like a child seeing the world for the first time.
Once we reached the mansion, one of my butlers rushed forward, taking our bags. I held Selene’s hand, leading her up the steps and into the main hall.
But as soon as we crossed the threshold, the familiar sound of heels clicking across marble floors echoed through the entryway, and I barely had a chance to brace myself before Ana appeared, throwing herself at me.
“Lucifer!” Her voice was filled with excitement as she wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling me into a quick, eager kiss on the lips. “I missed you!”
I could feel Selene’s gaze piercing through the scene, and I chuckled, catching Ana’s arms to steady her. “Ana, That’s no way to greet, darling,” I murmured, my voice low but teasing, though I could feel Selene’s silent judgment from where she stood beside us.
Ana pouted, looking up at me with a mischievous grin. “You said it was fine,” she whispered, her gaze flickering toward Selene with a hint of smugness.
I could see Selene’s reaction out of the corner of my eye, her posture stiffening slightly, though she did her best to remain impassive.
But I could sense her irritation, the faintest hint of jealousy simmering beneath her calm exterior.

SELENE FROWN.
I stood still, watching the two of them. I kept my expression as neutral as possible, though I could feel my stomach twist.
This girl—clung to him like she belonged there, smiling as though she had every right to be wrapped around him. Lucifer actually smiled back at her, that same infuriatingly charming smile he’d flash at me from time to time.
And he’d even called her “darling.” Darling. I swallowed, fighting to keep the irritation from showing on my face.
What was the meaning of this? And why did I even care? It’s not like I had any reason to feel this way. I wasn’t jealous; that would be ridiculous. I didn’t care about him like that… or at all, really. Right?
Still, my chest tightened, and I felt something dangerously close to frustration simmering beneath the surface.
I just wanted to be away from this whole display, this woman acting so possessive, and Lucifer acting as though it was perfectly natural for her to throw herself at him like that.
“Excuse me,” I mumbled, interrupting their little reunion. “I’d like to go to my room.”
Lucifer and Ana broke apart, turning to look at me with matching expressions of mild surprise.
Before they could react, an older man standing at the base of the staircase caught my eye, motioning for me to follow.
I nodded, grateful for the escape, and started toward the stairs, hoping to slip away quietly.
But I couldn’t resist one last look. “Lucifer,” I said, stopping in my tracks, “isn’t it time you drop her?”
A slight smirk played at the edge of his lips, though he held onto her a moment longer, just to push my buttons, I was sure of it. “Of course,” he replied, releasing Ana with a casual smile that made me want to storm out of the room right then.
But before I could move, he stepped toward me, and I impulsively reached out, grabbing his hand and pulling him after me without even thinking about it.
“Come.” I could feel his eyes on me, his amusement practically radiating off him, but I didn’t care.
I wanted him away from her, wanted to be out of her sight and far from that smug little grin of hers.
