A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 131 – 140

I have no idea why he is so defensive about Anna, I get is his child and I do want to know who her mother is, the way things are, I doubt he will answer my questions.

feeling the weight of every unspoken word between us. The scent of old books filled the air, mingling with the faint, intoxicating hint of something else—something dark and compelling that always seemed to linger when Lucifer was near.

I glanced up at him, noting how the warm glow from the overhead light softened his sharp features, making him look almost… human. But I knew better.

He watched me with that look, the one that always left me feeling as if he could see right through every wall I’d built around myself. His gaze never faltered, never softened.

It was relentless, intense, and it made me want to look away, even though I couldn’t. My heart thudded loudly, and I swallowed, trying to ignore the tension hanging thick between us.

“Selene,” he said softly, his voice a low murmur that seemed to wrap around me. “Why do you always look at me as if I’m about to shatter you?” he changed the subject.

“Maybe because you could,” I replied, barely above a whisper.

A faint smile tugged at his lips, both amused and sad. “If I ever did, it wouldn’t be in the way you fear.” He took a step closer, his movements slow, deliberate. “I could never break you. Not unless you asked me to.”

His words held a promise I wasn’t sure I was ready to understand. But even as doubt lingered, curiosity whispered to me. His hand lifted, and before I could process what was happening, his fingers brushed against my cheek.

The warmth of his touch sent a shiver through me, his fingertips gentle, as if he was afraid I might disappear under his touch.

“You’re really beautiful selene” he murmured, his thumb tracing a slow, delicate path along my cheekbone.

I could feel the blush creeping up my cheeks, my throat suddenly dry. “I know,” I whispered

“of course you do” he said firmly, his hand slipping from my cheek to tilt my chin up. “You are so much more. Give yourself to me selene.” His eyes darkened, softening with an emotion I couldn’t name. “i will take good care of you” he admitted, his voice so quiet I almost didn’t hear it.

My heart skipped a beat. “You’re telling lies”

“hmm.” He leaned closer, his face inches from mine, and I could feel his breath warm against my skin. “I don’t want to be without you. You are really Entertaining .”

” That’s not something you should say to someone, you wish to sleep with ” I furrow my brows and he smile

” Punish me then ” his words were raw, with an intensity, I don’t know

I felt myself drawn in, unable to resist. His hand moved to the back of my neck, his fingers tangling gently in my hair. He was so close now that I could see every fleck of darkness in his eyes, every hint of lust in them.

“Tell me to stop,” he whispered, his voice barely more than a breath, his lips so close that his words were almost a part of me.

But I didn’t tell him to stop. I couldn’t. My heart was pounding too hard, my body already leaning in, surrendering to the inevitable pull that had always been there between us.

I closed the distance, and then, his lips brushed against mine, soft and tentative at first. The world around us faded, leaving only the warmth of his mouth, the steady touch of his hands anchoring me to him.

The kiss deepened, and his grip tightened, his arms wrapping around me as if he was afraid I might vanish if he let go. His kiss was both gentle and possessive, a silent declaration of everything i felt but couldn’t say.

His lips moved against mine with a rhythm that felt like it was ours alone, a language we didn’t need words to understand.

My hands found their way to his chest, feeling the steady, almost unnatural warmth beneath his shirt. I pressed closer, feeling his heartbeat—or whatever it was—thundering against my palms.

His hand slid from my neck down to my back, pulling me closer, erasing the last bit of space between us. I felt his fingers splay across my spine, grounding me, holding me in place as if I was something precious he’d been waiting for an eternity to hold.
