A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 151 – 160

I took a slow sip of my drink, savoring the burn. “And why would I do that? Earth is… entertaining.”

“It’s killing you,” Gabriel said, his voice hard. “You might not feel it now, but the longer you stay, the weaker you’ll become. If you don’t return to Hell—”

“You’ll what?” I interrupted, smirking. “Do you intend to smite me, brother? Take up arms against the great Lucifer?”

Gabriel’s jaw tightened. “You know I can’t.”

“Exactly.” I set my glass down, leaning against the table. “You can’t sin, Gabriel. You can’t harm me, or anyone else for that matter. So spare me the threats.”

“This isn’t a threat,” he snapped. “It’s a warning. If you won’t leave willingly, I’ll find another way to protect humanity from you.” he frown ” you can’t love, the devil doesn’t fall in love!!!”

” Who says anything about love ”

” You care for that girl, you love her!”

” Watch your words Gabriel!!”

” Leave earth or I might force you back ”

I raised a brow, intrigued. “And how do you intend to do that without dirtying your hands?”

Gabriel didn’t answer. He simply stared at me, his expression a mixture of anger and sadness.

Before I could press him further, a loud crash echoed from upstairs.

I stiffened, my eyes narrowing.

SELENE SMILED

After Lucifer left, I sank deeper into the warm water, letting the tension from the morning slowly fade. The faint scent of lavender from the soap lingered in the air, calming my nerves.

My eyes fluttered shut, and for the first time in what felt like forever, I allowed myself to relax. The silence was comforting, save for the occasional drip of water from the faucet.

But then, like a sudden chill in the air, the calm shattered.

A familiar, bone-deep cold spread through the room. My eyes snapped open, the steam from the bath no longer feeling warm against my skin. My heart thudded heavily in my chest as I scanned the bathroom, dread clawing its way up my spine.

Footsteps.

Soft, deliberate footsteps echoed in the tiled space, though the door hadn’t opened. My breath hitched, and my gaze darted to the far corner of the room. There she stood.

The same creepy child I’d seen before.

Her pale, translucent skin seemed to glow faintly under the bathroom light, her lifeless black eyes boring into mine. That same unsettling smile stretched across her small face, too wide for comfort.

“I’m back,” she said cheerfully, her voice light and melodic, but it carried a dark undertone that sent shivers down my spine.

“No,” I whispered, shaking my head. This couldn’t be happening again. It wasn’t real. It couldn’t be real.

Her smile widened, impossibly so. “I came back to hug you,” she said, tilting her head to the side.

I squeezed my eyes shut, refusing to believe what I was seeing. My heart pounded painfully against my ribs as I tried to convince myself it was a hallucination, a leftover trick of my imagination. But the cold didn’t dissipate. The room didn’t return to normal.

And then I felt it.

Tiny, ice-cold hands gripped my shoulders. My eyes flew open, and there she was—standing in the tub, water lapping against her ankles. Her smile was still plastered on her face, but up close, her features were more horrifying. The pale skin on her cheeks cracked like porcelain, and her sharp yellow teeth glinted in the bathroom light.

“Get off me!” I screamed, trying to push her away, but I couldn’t move.
