To my surprise, I Respond. My hands found their way to his chest, clutching at the fabric of his shirt as if it were the only thing keeping me upright.

The world around us seemed to fade away, leaving only the warmth of his body against mine and the intoxicating taste of him.

Lucien’s hand tightened on my waist, pulling me closer until there was no space left between us. His lips moved against mine with a skill and confidence that left me breathless, and I couldn’t help but wonder if this was what it felt like to lose control.

When we finally pulled apart, I was panting, my heart racing in my chest. Lucien didn’t let go of me, his dark eyes searching mine as if looking for something.

“That…” I started, but my voice trailed off, unsure of what to say.

He smirked again, though there was something softer in his expression now. “You surprised me, Selene.”

I raised an eyebrow, still trying to catch my breath. “How?”

“You kissed me back,” he said simply.

Heat rushed to my face, and I looked away, suddenly feeling shy. “I didn’t mean to.”

“Liar,” he murmured, his voice low and teasing.

I glared at him, though there was no real anger behind it. “that was a mistake”

“Maybe,” he said, his smirk widening. “But you didn’t seem to mind.”

I rolled my eyes, pushing lightly against his chest. ” Lucifer …..” his expression changed at the mention of Lucifer’s name

Lucien finally let me go, though his gaze lingered on me for a moment longer. “You should probably get some rest,” he said, his tone harsh now.

“Right,” I muttered, stepping back and trying to regain some semblance of composure.

As I turned to go back inside, I heard him call after me.

“Selene.”

I paused, glancing back at him.

“Don’t overthink this,” he said, his expression unreadable. “Just…don’t.”

I nodded, though I wasn’t sure I could promise that.

As I walked back into the house, my mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. I didn’t know what had just happened or what it meant, but one thing was certain: Lucifer can never find out.

LUCIFER FROWNED

I stood before the mirror, a shimmering portal conjured by my will—my magic a mere whisper in the fabric of reality.

The reflection revealed not my own visage, but the scene unfolding in Lucien’s house. My heart thundered, not with fear but with a rage that simmered beneath the surface, waiting to erupt.

There they were: Lucien and Selene, entangled in a kiss that felt like a dagger twisting in my chest. I had thought Selene was different. I had thought she wasn’t safe and was worried.

Yet here she was, throwing herself into the arms of another man, breaking the promise she had made to me. The very thought made my hands clench into fists, my nails digging into my palm until I felt the sting of pain.

I leaned closer to the mirror, my breath fogging the glass momentarily. “What game do you play, Selene?” I muttered, my voice low and dangerous.

She had vowed never to betray me, yet here she was, breaking that vow with every second that passed. My mind raced, each thought sharper than the last.

The betrayal felt fresh, a wound that would not heal. I had shown her kindness, had been patient, had even created Lucien with my very hands, believing him.

But now, as I watched the way they melted into each other, it became clear that my generosity had been misplaced. They thought I was weak, that my affection would blind me to their treachery.

I straightened, my reflection morphing into the embodiment of my wrath. They believed I would come rushing in, demanding answers, seeking to understand. But what was there to understand? Lucien had crossed a line, and for that, he would pay dearly.
