THE DEVIL’S CHILD
SELENE FROWNED.
The air crackled with tension after Lucifer’s revelation, the weight of his words hanging between us like a thick fog.
I stood there, shaking as I processed what he had just said. **I was a demon.** The world around me felt unreal, as if the very foundations of my existence were crumbling beneath my feet.
“Selene?” he said, his voice low and earnest. But I could see the conflict in his eyes, and it only fueled my anger and confusion.
“you created me to be a demon? That I’m destined to die like Anna? What kind of life is that?”
He opened his mouth to respond, but no words came. I could see the pain etched on his face, a reflection of my own turmoil. “I didn’t want this for you,” he finally said, his voice strained. “i didn’t expect us to be…. Like this”
“lucifer” I echoed, incredulous. “You think that’s a good excuse? I’m dying and you see no reason to tell me?”
“i was trying to protect you,” he insisted, frustration creeping into his voice. “If you knew everything, you might not want to be with me anymore.”
“Maybe I should know what I’m getting into!” I shouted, tears brimming in my eyes. “maybe if you had told me earlier, we would have done something about it!”
Lucifer’s gaze hardened for a moment, and I felt a flicker of fear. “You don’t understand anything ” he growl. “you can’t change anything, they is no way to undo what I have done!!! Is even useless to learn your powers, that will just make you die sooner ”
The weight of his words settled heavily in my chest, and for a moment, I felt paralyzed by the enormity of it all. I wanted to scream, to cry, to run away from this reality that felt like a nightmare.
“why is this happening to me?” I yell, my voice trembling. “Help me understand. Why am I always passing through different challenges”minutes passed and Lucifer said nothing, just kept staring at me.
“Is that what happened to Anna?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. “you couldn’t save her?”
Lucifer’s silence spoke volumes, and the realization crashed over me like a tidal wave.” I can’t end up like her” I felt the panic rising within me, a primal fear that threatened to overwhelm my senses. ” Lucifer please, help me”
“Selene” Lucifer said firmly, reaching for my hands. “You will be fine”
But as I looked into his eyes, I felt a gnawing doubt. “You say that, but your eyes says something else” looking at him, I couldn’t bear it anymore ” excuse me” i walk out of the garden in a rush, trying to catch my breath.
Moving back to my bedroom , I shut the door and the air shifted. A chill raced through the chamber, and my instincts kicked in.
I stopped, my heart pounding as a sense of foreboding enveloped me. “Lucifer?” I look around but he is not here
the shadows around me darkened, swirling violently as if disturbed by an unseen force. I glanced toward the entrance, but the heavy door open and once again slammed shut, sealing me inside.
“Selene!” Lucifer shouted, his voice edged with panic. The voice was still far, far from my bedroom.
The shadows began to writhe, and a sinister laughter echoed through the chamber, reverberating off the stone walls. “Did you really think you could hide from me?” the voice taunted, smooth as silk but laced with malice.
I stepped back, my heart racing. “Who are you?” I called, trying to sound braver than I felt.
The figure emerged from the shadows, coalescing into the form of the sinister man from earlier—the one who had warned me of the darkness.
His eyes glowed with malevolence, and a cruel smile played on his lips. “Just a friend, Selene. But now, I’m here to take you out of this place, keep you and your child save.”
“ child?” I frown “am not pregnant ”
” Oh yes you are” he replied and by this time, am no longer in my bedroom, everywhere was filled with grass and when I look at him again, he has Liam face….
