A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 211 – 220
My heart raced as I reached the bushes, pressing myself into the thick foliage, hoping it would conceal me from view.
As I crouched low, I listened intently, my breath shallow. I could hear the men moving closer, their voices a mix of anger and determination. “She must be around here somewhere,” one said, and I felt a shiver run down my spine.
I held my breath, praying they wouldn’t find me. The thicket was a refuge, but it wouldn’t last long. I had to think of my next move. I could hear their footsteps circling the clearing, my heart pounding in rhythm with their approach.
“Spread out! Search the area!” another commanded, and I felt a jolt of fear. They were closing in, their voices echoing in the stillness of the night.
I needed to act quickly. I couldn’t wait here forever. With a deep breath, I peeked through the leaves, my heart pounding as I searched for a way to escape. The clearing was still, but I could see the men moving about, their shadows flickering in the moonlight.
“Where is she?” one of them growled, frustration evident in his tone.
I felt my heart race, the urge to flee bubbling to the surface. I couldn’t stay hidden forever. I had to find a way to slip past them undetected.
Just then, I noticed a path leading deeper into the woods, barely visible beneath the underbrush. It was a risk, but it was my only option. I had to make a break for it.
With a surge of determination, I pushed through the thicket, darting toward the path. The leaves rustled behind me, and I could hear the men’s voices rising in alarm. “Over there!” one shouted, and I felt a fresh wave of adrenaline course through me.
I sprinted down the path, my feet pounding against the hard earth. The trees closed in around me again, their branches reaching out as if trying to hold me back. I dodged and ducked, my heart racing with each step.
The sound of their pursuit echoed in my ears, but I focused on the path ahead. I needed to keep moving, keep running.
The fear that gripped me was a powerful motivator, pushing me to go faster, to escape the danger that lurked behind me.
The forest was a blur of shadows and moonlight, each step taking me further away from the nightmare I had just escaped.
I could hear the men shouting, their voices growing fainter as I navigated the winding path. Hope surged within me—I was getting away.
But just as I began to feel a sense of relief, I stumbled upon a steep slope, the ground beneath me giving way.
I barely had time to react as I slipped and tumbled down the hill, my body rolling over the uneven terrain. I landed with a thud at the bottom, the impact knocking the breath from my lungs.
Dazed, I lay there for a moment, trying to catch my breath. My heart raced as I struggled to push myself up, the fear of being caught still fresh in my mind.
I could hear the men above me, their voices echoing in the distance. They were searching, but I had to keep moving.
I forced myself to stand, my legs shaky from the sudden fall. I scanned my surroundings, desperate for a way out.
The trees were thick here, but I could see a faint trail leading deeper into the woods.
Before I could run, I stare blindly at the same three headed dog I saw in that cave, he came into view, huge, his six gaze remain on me ” what are you” I gasped, stepping back.
Instead of the dog to attack, it bend down, Bowing his head to me ” my queen ” I remain standing, shock to hear this ” i will dispose of those who wish you and the devil’s child death ” before I could respond I turn around and notice that it was talking about those men
” Th..th..thank you ” I stammer and I watch the dog rush them, tearing each one of them into pieces, I have no plans of waiting her till it eat me too so I ran.
the forest came alive around me. The sounds of night creatures filled the air, the rustle of leaves and the chirping of insects a stark contrast to my pounding heart.
I didn’t stop running.
