A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 221 – 230
She looked at me, the vulnerability in her eyes cutting deep. “Okay.” she slowly close her eyes
The soft glow of the evening light filtered through the curtains, casting a warm hue across Selene’s sleeping form. She lay nestled under the covers, her face serene and peaceful, a stark contrast to the turmoil we had faced earlier. I couldn’t help but admire her, the way her features softened in sleep, the tension from the day finally melting away.
As I stood there, I felt an overwhelming urge to protect her, to shield her from the world outside. I also hate myself for wishing to kill what she has grow to love
I reached for a blanket folded at the foot of the bed and gently draped it over her, careful not to wake her. She stirred slightly but settled back into her dreams, a small sigh escaping her lips.
For a moment, I simply watched her, my heart swelling with a mix of love and concern. This was what I had fought for—her safety, her happiness. But the weight of our situation pressed heavily on my mind. I had made promises to her today, and I was determined not to keep, I will definitely end it.
After a long moment, I turned away, the quiet of the room enveloping me as I stepped out into the hallway. The mansion was still, a sanctuary in the midst of chaos, but I knew I needed to find answers. My mind raced with questions, particularly about the tea Mirabel had prepared for Selene.
I made my way to the kitchen, my footsteps echoing softly against the marble floors. As I entered, I found Mirabel tidying up, her hands moving deftly as she cleaned the counters. She looked up when she heard me approach, a warm smile spreading across her face.
“Lucifer, how is she?” she asked, setting aside a dishcloth.
“She’s sleeping,” I replied, my tone serious. “ I told you clearly what I wanted!!”
Mirabel’s expression shifted slightly, a hint of concern crossing her features. “i will not let you kill your child” she growl ” who cares if Selene dies? Your child should live”
“I need to know exactly what you put in it,” I said, gripping her neck firmly as I looked into her eyes. “Tell me!!!”
She paused, the weight of my request hanging between us. “I added chamomile and valerian root for relaxation, along with some honey to sweeten it. Nothing harmful, I promise.”
“Mirabel!!” I pressed, searching her gaze for reassurance ” I clearly told you to use harmful herbs, I have you one damn task”
“Lucifer, she doesn’t deserve you, if this is a way for her end … So be it” Mirabel said, her voice steady. “I know how much she means to you. This child might be the one, the one you have been searching for…. The reason you came to earth!!!”
Tightening my hands around her neck I stare at her with pute hatred ” if you do one more thing I ask you not ” my voice deepen ” I will kill you ”
” Forgive me” she begged, trying to breath.
“I will not choose a child over Selene, not my Selene!!!!” I growl, feeling the ground shake from my anger.

EVEN THE DEVIL HAS A HEART
MIRABEL GASPED.
I gasped for air, my throat raw from Lucifer’s grip. The moment he released me, I stumbled back, trying to steady myself.
Anger simmered beneath my skin, mixing with the fear that had taken hold when he threatened me. As I watched him walk away, his silhouette framed by the dim light of the mansion, I felt a surge of determination swell within me.
I couldn’t let this continue. Not when the life of the child selene carried—hung in the balance.
With a flick of my wrist, I muttered a simple spell, and the world around me shimmered. In an instant, I was transported to the house where Selene had fled.
The air was thick with the stench of death, and the atmosphere crackled with lingering violence. I took a moment to collect myself, the shadows of the dead men who had once roamed these halls looming large.
