A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 221 – 230
As we sat down, I took a moment to soak it all in. “This is amazing, Lucifer. Thank you for bringing me here,” I said, my heart full.
“Only the best for you,” he replied, his eyes locked on mine. “Now, what do you want to drink? They have an excellent selection of wines.”
“I’ll leave it up to you,” I said, smiling. “I trust your judgment.”
“Good choice,” he said, signaling to the waiter. “We’ll have a bottle of your finest red, please.”
As we waited for the wine, we began to talk, our conversation flowing effortlessly. We discussed everything from our hopes and dreams to the silly things that made us laugh. It felt so natural, as if we’d known each other for a lifetime.
“You know, I did not expect you to look so perfect in that dress” he said, leaning back in his chair. “You’re making me react in wrong places”
“Is that a bad thing?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Not at all,” he replied, a smile tugging at his lips. “it makes things interesting, at least for tonight”
“oh really” I said, feeling a flutter in my chest ” you do know how to make a woman blush”
He chuckled, shaking his head. “I have my moments.”
The waiter returned with our wine, pouring it into our glasses with expert precision. I lifted my glass, feeling a sense of celebration in the air. “To new beginnings,” I said, clinking my glass against his.
“To new beginnings,” he echoed, his gaze never leaving mine as we took a sip. The rich flavor danced on my palate, adding to the evening’s magic.
As we continued to eat and drink, the conversation turned lighter, filled with playful banter and shared stories. I found myself laughing more than I had in a long time, the weight of the world feeling a little lighter in his presence.
After we finished our meal, Lucifer leaned forward, a glint of mischief in his eye. “Are you ready for the next part of your surprise?”
“Surprise? There’s more?” I asked, a mix of excitement and curiosity bubbling within me.
“Absolutely,” he said, standing up and offering his hand. “Follow me.”
I took his hand, feeling a surge of energy as we walked through the restaurant and out onto the street. The night air was crisp and invigorating, and I couldn’t help but smile as I stepped beside him.
“Where are we going?” I asked again, unable to contain my excitement.
“Just a little further,” he replied, guiding me down the street.
As we walked, I noticed the vibrant energy of New York at night—people laughing, music playing, and the city alive with possibilities. It felt electric, and I couldn’t help but feel that tonight was special.
Finally we stopped in a huge hall.
