A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL : CHAPTER 241 – THE END
A FATHER’S DEAL
LUCIFER FROWNED.
I stood up, disoriented, the world around me shifting in ways I couldn’t comprehend. The sterile birthing room had vanished, replaced by an expanse of blinding light.
Confusion washed over me like a tidal wave, and I blinked against the brightness, trying to make sense of my surroundings.
Before me loomed a massive chair, radiant and imposing, its aura so intense that I could barely look directly at it.
It felt as though I had stepped into another realm entirely, one that pulsed with an energy that sent chills racing down my spine.
“Father?” I mumbled, my voice barely a whisper. The word felt foreign on my tongue, a mixture of longing and dread.
I bent down, instinctively lowering myself in reverence, though I wasn’t sure if my father was even present.
The air crackled with an unearthly presence, and for a moment, I hesitated, caught between fear and hope. I had lost Selene, and in my desperation, I would do anything to bring her back.
“Lucifer,” a voice resonated, deep and powerful, echoing around me. It was a voice that commanded respect and reverence, yet it held a hint of warmth that made my heart race.
“Father,” I said again, standing tall, meeting the unseen presence with a mixture of defiance and supplication. “I’m here. I need to speak with you.”
“You have called upon me in your moment of despair,” the voice continued. “You seek to bargain for the life of one you love.”
“Yes,” I replied, my heart pounding. “Selene… she’s gone. I can’t bear the thought of living without her. I would do anything to have her back.”
Silence enveloped me as I waited for a response, the weight of my words hanging in the air. I felt the light intensify, wrapping around me like a warm embrace, but I knew better than to be lulled into comfort.
This was my father—he was not known for mercy but humans always thought differently.
“Your love for her is clear, but such matters cannot be resolved without consequence,” he said, the gravity of his words settling into my bones. “To bring her back, a price must be paid.”
“What price?” I asked, my voice steady despite the turmoil within. “you hardly take anything from those fragile creatures you create but once am in the picture, you want to take everything ”
” You are not human” his tone has finality to it ” you have done things that warrant no forgiveness”
” Father!!”
“Selene shall be returned to you, but she will walk the earth as a human, no longer a demon,” my father said, the words echoing in my mind. “She will live, but you must remain in Hell. You will be granted passage to the mortal realm only five days each month.”
My heart sank at the terms. “Five days? That’s not enough! I need to be with her more than that!”
“Do you wish for her to live?” he countered, his tone unwavering. “This is the price of your love. You must choose: remain in the shadows of Hell or remain in earth with her dead.”
I felt the weight of his words pressing down on me. “And if I refuse?”
“Then she shall remain gone, her light extinguished forever. The choice is yours, Lucifer. Demons have no soul, which means she will be lost forever.”
I closed my eyes, grappling with the enormity of the decision before me.my body a mix of anger and despair. “Why? Why must it always be this way? Why do you make me choose between love and my own existence?”
“Because it is the nature of all things,” he replied, his voice softer now, almost sympathetic. “Love is a powerful force, but it is also a burden. You must learn to bear it.”
