A month later, everything was going smoothly for the whole family, everyone was happy and had a change of heart towards Diana, and she was given a second chance.

At the poolside, Maya and Diana were having a good time chatting as they were served a glass of chill orange and some cookies.

“You are so funny”. Maya said laughing at Diana’s joke.

” I know right”. They giggle.

“I have…She paused as she felt a pain below her tummy.

Diana noticed her mood.

” Are you okay?”.

“I think so”. She said and groaned as she felt the pain again.

” Maya”. She moved to her, she gasped as she saw water coming out from her legs.”Maya, I think your water just broke”. She said.

“Ahh!”. She screams in pain.

” Oh gosh, hold on let me call Jayden”. She took Maya’s phone on the chair beside her and dialed Jayden’s number.

Jayden was having a meeting with some of his clients when he noticed his cell phone vibrating in his suit pocket, he brought it out and smiled as he saw the caller ID.

“Excuse me”. He stood up to answer the call.” Missing me already?”. He asked on the phone and Diana’s voice came from the other end.

“Jayden you have to come home now, Maya water just broke, I think she is in labor”. She said.

” What, am coming right away “. he hung up and turned to the clients.” am sorry I have to go, let’s shift this meeting to another day”. He rushed out quickly and there was murmuring among them.

JAYDEN’S MANSION

Maya was still groaning in pain and Diana kept tossing around confused about what to do.

“Please Maya, hold on for a while, Jayden will soon be here”. She said.

“He should hurry, it hurt!”. She cried out.

Some minutes later, Jayden drove crazily into the compound and rushed to the pool to see Maya groaning in serious pain.

” Maya”. He rushed to her and Maya pushed him off.

“What took you so long?”. She yelled.

” Am sorry, am here now, let me take you to the hospital”. He tries to help her up, but Maya refuses.

“Don’t touch me! I can stand up myself”. She said angrily and managed to stand up and then start hard at Jayden.” Don’t stand there, hold me!”. She yelled and Jayden rushed to support her.

“Come on Maya, try to take a step”. Diana said.

” Gently!”. Jayden said as Maya was counting her steps.

“Ahh! My back!”.

” Do you want me to rub it for you? Jayden asked and she stared hard at him.

“Don’t! I am in this pain because of you”. She said almost in tears.

Diana tried controlling her laughter.

” I am sorry”. Jayden apologized sincerely as he kept leading her.

“I hate you jayden!”. she voices out.

” I know”. he replied.

“Don’t touch me!”.

” I won’t”. He said as he let go of her hand.

“Hold me”. She said and Jayden rushed to hold her.

Soon they came to where the car was and She entered gently.

” What a funny couple”. Diana smiled.”Let me prepare something for her”. She rushed to the kitchen.

From the driveway to the hospital, Maya kept rainy insult on Jayden for putting her in this painful condition and Jayden kept answering her knowing well the pain she was going through.

HOSPITAL

Everyone was already present at the hospital waiting for the arrival of the baby. Jayden was inside the labor room with the doctor and some other nurses. Maya was crying in pain they kept telling her to push, but she kept pushing hard.

“Come on Maya, you can do it”. Jayden said holding her hand.

Maya was sweating profusely as she kept pushing hard. Suddenly the baby cried out.

” It’s a boy”. Doc. Micheal announced. and then he handed over the baby to one of the nurses to wash him up.

Tears mixed with joy came out from Jayden and Maya smiled.

“You did it, Maya”. Jayden said as he kissed her forehead

” Congratulations to you two”. Doc. Michael said smiling at them.

In the corridor, everyone was pestering around waiting for the good news. Then Jayden came out and they rushed to him.

“How did it go?”. Mrs.Williams asked curiously.

” It’s a boy!”. Jayden said excitedly and everyone screamed in excitement and started hugging each other.

“Congratulations son”. Mr.williams said.

“Congratulations bro”. Theo said.

” Finally, I have a nephew”. Ryan said.

“And now I am an aunt”. Mia said.

“That makes me a grandmother”. Ma Lucy said.

” Me too”. Mrs.williams said.

“And that makes me a Dad”. Jayden said and they laughed.

” Congratulations son, I am so proud of you”. Mrs.williams asked.

“Thank you, Mom”.

“Can we see them now?”. Mr.williams asked.

” Not yet, they are preparing them”. Jayden said.

Some minutes later, Maya’s ward was decorated beautifully with blue and white balloons and ribbon. The baby was sleeping calmly in her arms.

“Congratulations dear”. Ma.lucy said.

” Thank you, aunt”.

“He is so handsome, he got his father’s nose”. Mr.williams.

” Of course, Dad, he got the whole of me”. Jayden said and that laugh.

“Where is Ella? I didn’t see her”. Maya asked.

” Right here”. Ella said as she entered with Lisa.

“She insisted on coming”. Lisa said.

” Oh my, he is so beautiful, he looks like his Dad”. She said.

“Exactly!”. Theo said.

” Congratulations to you two”. Ella said.

“Thank you”.Jayden and Maya replied.

” Where is the latest mom in town?”. Diana said as she entered holding a hot flake.

Everyone turns in her direction smiling.

“Right here”. Maya said.

” Congratulations! he is so cute”. She said excitedly.

“Thank you”. Maya said.

” He looks so much like his father”. Diana said.

“That’s true”. Jayden said.

” What do we call him?”. Theo asked.

“Hayden, I named him after my name”. Jayden said.

” Wow, I love the name”.Ma Lucy said.

“Welcome to earth, Hayden”. Mia said.

” Before I forget, I brought you guys some food”.Diana said and placed the flasks on the shelf beside the bed.

“Thank you”. Maya said.

” You are welcome”.

The next day, Maya was discharged from the hospital, and the girls made a surprise welcome for them by decorating the whole place and preparing mouth-watering food.

“Congratulations!!!”. They chorus simultaneously

” Thank you”. Jayden and Maya replied.

“This smells nice”. Ryan said as he rushed to the dinner table with the rest.

” I will go put the baby to bed”. Maya said and Jayden followed her to the room.

“This food is delicious”. Lisa said.

” You can say that again”. Theo said.

“Please no talking while eating”. Mia said.

” Sorry”. They chorus simultaneously.

“She right, let’s respect the table manners”. Diana said.

<Jayden’s bedroom>

Maya placed the baby on his cot gently.

” Do you need anything?”. Jayden asked.

“No, the baby is sleeping now”.Maya said smiling lovingly at the sleeping child.” He does look like you and I am happy about that”. She said.

“And you gave me the best gift ever”. He kissed her forehead.” I love you both so much”.he said and they kept smiling at the baby.

Later in the night, Maya and Jayden were having their beauty sleep when the cry of the baby woke them up.

“Not again”. Maya said.

” Don’t worry, I will take care of it”. Jayden said as he stood up.

“But you have work tomorrow, you need to sleep”. Maya said trying to stand up.

” No, you should sleep, I know you look tired, don’t worry I will put the baby back to sleep”. he insisted.

“Okay”. She said and went back to sleep.

Jayden moved to the baby and carried him in his arms and the baby became calm and he slept off. He placed him back on his cot and went to bed, soon the baby cried out again, he moved to where he was and carried him in his arms and he slept off.

He noticed if he lay him down on his cot he would start again, Then he carried him to the bed and he was in between them and he fell asleep, Jayden saw he was asleep, and soon, he drifted to sleep.

A week later, Mrs.williams was bathing the baby while Maya was searching for a suitable dress for the baby, Just then, her cell phone rang, and she sighed tiredly as she saw the caller ID.

” This is the fifth time you are calling this morning”. Maya said on the phone and Jayden’s voice came through the other end.

“I know, I just want to check on you guys”. he said.

” We are fine”.

“Why is he crying so loud?”. Jayden asked curiously on the phone after he heard the baby’s voice.

” He is having his bath that’s why”. She said.

“Okay, hope you are fine?”.

” Yes Jayden, am fine”.

“Okay, I will call you later, please don’t stress yourself till I come back, OK?”.

” Sure, I won’t”.

“I love you”.

” I love you too”.

“kiss Hayden for me, okay? You two should take care of yourself till I get back”.

“we will, take care of yourself”. She said and hung up.

” Jayden is just too over-caring”. Mrs.williams said as she started giving the baby a little massage.

“Yeah, this is the fifth time he is calling to check up on us”.Maya said.

” He is just worried, so don’t blame him”. she said, and Maya sighed.

Mrs.williams was done massaging the baby, she dressed him up and gave the baby to Maya to breastfeed him.
