“Stop talking. Natalie is so dead tonight!” Marcus said looking angry already as he went towards his car,he entered and he sped off angrily.
Marcus’s hands gripped the steering wheel tightly as he sped down the highway, his mind racing with ways to confront Natalie. He was so consumed by his anger that he didn’t notice the car turning into his lane…
“Ah!” Marcus shouted as his car collided with the other vehicle. The impact was tremendous, and Marcus’s world went dark instantly.

NEXT MORNING AT A HOSPITAL*
Marcus opened his eyes slowly, he was lying in a hospital bed, surrounded by beeping machines and sterile white walls. He tried to move, but a sharp pain shot through his chest.
“Mister, you’ve been in an accident” a gentle voice said beside him and Marcus assumed him to be a doctor.
“You need to stay calm and rest”the doctor added.
Marcus struggled to remember what had happened. The accident… Natalie… Katharina…
“Katharina!” he shouted, trying to sit up, but the doctor’s hand held him down.
“Sir, please, you need to rest” he said firmly.
“You don’t understand me doctor, there’s a witch in my house and she needs to be dealt with seriously! My poor daughter is home with her and Kat… Katharina is held captive by her. I need to get out of here, doctor” he tried getting up but the doctor stopped him quickly.
“You need to calm down, sir. You got involved in an accident and I can’t discharge you right now”
“But I’m fine now. If the accident were serious,I wouldn’t be awake right now”
“Sir, you’re not fine, You have broken ribs. You need to stay here and recover”
“You don’t understand, doctor. Natalie is a dangerous person. She’s got Katharina under her control. I need to get out of here and save them”
“I understand that you’re worried, but you’re not going anywhere until you’re cleared by me. And even then, you need to take it easy and avoid any strenuous activities”
“Strenuous activities? You think I care about that? My daughter may be in danger and Katharina is already in danger, and you’re talking about strenuous activities?” He asked frustrated already and the doctor sighed.
“Sir, I understand that you’re upset, but you need to calm down and think about your own health right now. You can’t help anyone if you’re not in good condition yourself”
“Fine. But I’m getting out of here as soon as possible, and I’m going to take care of Natalie once and for all” he said and the doctor nodded.
“I understand that you’re determined, but please be careful. You’re not in any shape to take on anyone right now”
“Where the hell is my phone?”
The doctor nodded and handed Marcus his phone immediately.
“Here you go, sir. But please, remember to take it easy”
Marcus took the phone and was about to dial Jenkins’ number when the door burst open and his family walked in.
“Marcus, oh my god, we were so scared!” Julian, exclaimed, rushing to his side.
“Mom, Dad, what are you doing here?” Marcus asked, surprised.
“We heard about the accident just this morning and came as soon as we could” his father, Leonardo said.
“Big bro, we were so worried about you!” Mason said, while Madison nodded in agreement.
“How did you guys know I was here?” He asked and Julian scoffed.
“Oh, please, Marcus. You’re a billionaire. The whole of New York knows about your accident already. You’re practically a celebrity”
“Who wouldn’t know? It’s all over the news”Madison said like it’s an obvious thing.
“I guess that’s true”
Madison rolled her eyes. “Of course it is, Marcus”
“Yeah, bro, you can’t exactly keep a low profile anymore” Mason added.
“The incident wasn’t even that serious” Marcus said, waving his hand dismissively.
“Not serious? You were in a car accident and have broken ribs! That’s pretty serious to me” Julian hissed.
“Yes, Marcus, it’s not something to brush off. You could have died!” Leonardo added.
Marcus sighed, knowing they were right.
“I know, I know. It’s just…I have more important things to worry about”
Madison and Mason exchanged a curious glance, but said nothing.
“Speaking of which,Where’s Hazel?” Marcus asked and Julian smiled reassuringly.
“She’s fine, dear. She’s at our house, safe and sound” she replied and he heaved a sigh of relief.
“She wanted to come right?”
“Yes, she did. But we didn’t think it was a good idea, considering…well, you know”
“Good. I don’t want her seeing me like this”
“Yeah, Hazel’s been worried sick about you since she heard about your accident this morning. We quickly went to get her since she’s home alone with Natalie” Madison said.
“You met that witch at home?”
“No we didn’t” Mason replied.
“I’m just glad you’re okay, Marcus, But how did this happen in the first place? You’re always so careful on the road” Julian asked him and Marcus hesitated, not wanting to reveal the true reason for his accident.
“I was just…distracted, I guess. Lost control of the car”
“Distracted? By what?”
“Just…my mind was elsewhere, I suppose” he shrugged.
“That’s not like you, big bro, You’re always so focused on the road”
“Look, it’s just…I was dealing with some personal stuff, okay? And I wasn’t thinking clearly” he said and Julian frowned.
“Personal stuff? What kind of personal stuff?” Leonardo asked and Marcus hesitated.
“Marcus, you know you can’t let your personal life affect your safety on the road. And why were you driving alone, anyway? You have a driver for a reason”
“I know, Dad. It was just a stupid mistake, okay?”
“That stupid mistake shouldn’t repeat itself again,I can’t bear to lose you” Julian said and she pulled him close.
“Tonight is my company’s party,I can’t be here”
“Stay still! It can be postponed, your health is the most important thing”
“Okay Mum,dad,I need you to do something for me”
“What’s that?” They asked in unison and Marcus sighed before he began telling them.

UNKNOWN PLACE*
Natalie walked into a room, her heels clicking on the floor. The person standing with their back to her didn’t seem to notice her presence at first. But as she approached, he slowly turned around, a sly smile spreading across his face.
“Hello, Vinson” Natalie said.
“Nattie” he called her.
“I heard about Marcus’ accident. What do you know about it?” She asked and Vinson burst out laughing.
“Oh, Natalie. You have no idea how perfectly this works in our favor.”
“How do you mean?”
“You’re so clueless, Natalie. It’s almost… adorable.”
“Clue me in, Vinson”
Vinson linked his fingers together.
“First of all, when are you releasing that girl you’re holding captive in the dark room?”
Natalie hesitated. “Tonight”
“Don’t bother. They’ll come for her themselves. Marcus knows you’re holding her captive, and he knows you threatened his daughter”
“What!? How did he find out?” Natalie eyes widened in horror.
“That’s why I said you’re clueless, Natalie. I’ve been monitoring him for a while now, and I know what he’s up to. He was coming back from the house where Katharina lives, and the woman who helped you capture her told him that you took her captive. He got into an accident on his way back”
“What do you mean? How did you…?”
Vinson leaned forward.
“Let’s just say I have my ways, Natalie”
“I completely forgot who you are”
“I just can’t wait for his company to crumble and Vinson enterprises will rise to the top. I told you about you about me visiting his company right?”
“Yes,you proposed a merger between the two companies”
“The idiot refused me. Well…he doesn’t know what’s coming for him”
“I’ve been meaning to ask, since you want him dead so desperately, why do you want me to get married to him”
“Thought you will never ask. I want you to get married to him and then I kill him, simple”
“But why?”
“His will and properties will be shared and you as his wife will get the bigger share”
“Woah… what if I’m not on his will?”
“I never thought of that but now that he had an accident and is hospitalised right now,I got a better idea”
“And that is?” She asked but he only chuckled.

NIGHT, OUTSKIRTS OF VALDORIA KINGDOM*
Elara woke up, yawning and stretching her arms above her head. She was still in the middle of a yawn when the door burst open and Dominic rushed in, panting heavily.
“Let’s move now!” he exclaimed.
Elara’s yawn was cut short as she instantly got down from the bed . She didn’t hesitate for a second, knowing that Dominic wouldn’t be alarming her unless it was absolutely necessary.
“W-what’s wrong?” she stuttered, her voice trembling.
Dominic didn’t answer. Instead, he grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the room, into the cool night air. Elara stumbled after him, her heart racing with fear.
As they came out from the inn, Elara heard the sound of horses’ hooves and men shouting. Her eyes widened in terror as she realized who was after them.
“T-the King’s men?” she whispered.
Dominic didn’t answer. He just kept pulling her along, his grip on her hand tightening as they ran.
Elara’s began to panic. She couldn’t believe that the King’s men had found them. What would happen if they got caught?
She didn’t dare to think about it. Instead, she focused on keeping up with Dominic as they ran through the bushes, desperate to escape.
“How did they find us?” Elara asked as they ran.
“I don’t know! Just keep running, there’s a place we can hide”
As they ran, Elara heard the King’s men getting closer. Suddenly, a loud crack echoed through the air, and Elara felt a sharp pain in her arm. She cried out, stumbling.
Dominic screamed “No!!!” and caught her, holding her up.
“Keep moving!” he yelled.
“Dominic…I can’t…” she said, her voice fading.
Dominic picked her up and ran.
“Hold on, Elara! I’ve got you!”
Elara’s eyes closed, and she felt herself slipping away. She knew she’d been shot, and it hurt so much. But with Dominic holding her, she felt a little better. Maybe they’d make it out alive…
Elara’s strength began to fade. She felt weak and dizzy, her vision blurry.
“Dominic…I…can’t…” she stammered.
“Elara, hold on! We’re almost there!” he urged.
“Dom…I’m sorry…” Elara whispered.
“No, Elara! Don’t give up!”
But it was too late. The King’s men caught up to them, surrounding them with swords drawn.
“Ah-ah, I think you’ll be coming with us. It’s time to return home, our future king” one of the men sneered, grabbing Elara and Dominic.

HOSPITAL, MARCUS’ WARD*
Natalie, disguised in a white nurse’s uniform, walked into Marcus’ hospital ward, her eyes fixed on her target.
As she approached Marcus’ bedside, she could see that he was fast asleep, his chest rising and falling with each steady breath. She smiled to herself.
Without hesitation, Natalie reached into her pocket and pulled out a small injection vial, filled with a clear liquid. She carefully inserted the needle into Marcus’ arm.
As the injection flowed into Marcus’ bloodstream, Natalie’s smile grew wider. She knew that this serum would guarantee his memory loss, ensuring that he would never remember the events leading on to this moment.
With a satisfied nod, Natalie withdrew the needle and pocketed the vial. She leaned in closer to Marcus.
“Goodbye, Marcus. May your memories fade away forever”
