CHAPTER 22

A car arrived, and Dolores came out of it.

“Francesca!”

“Nanny!” She said cheerfully, rushing to her.

Dolores carried her in her arms.

“Take her, please” Sloane said.

“Sure, thanks ma’am” she replied.

“Bye Maxwell!” Francesca waved as Dolores carried her to the car.

“Bye Frances” he smiled as he waved back.

The car drove off, and Sloane faced him.

“Whoa, nice comforting skills you’ve got” she said, and he smiled slightly.

“Heard you’re Jemima’s new secretary, nice to meet you, I’m…

“Sloane Roosevelt, I know” he cut in, and she blinked.

“You’re a celebrity too, your company is one of the top ten, and you’re a Diamond, you’re my boss’s bestie too, so it’d be odd if I didn’t know you” he continued, and she smiled.

“Now I get it, but I must say… you’re good-looking” she bit her lip, and he laughed.

“Thanks, I have to go back to work right now”

“Wait! We can exchange contacts, right?” She asked, biting her lip again.

“Oh…yeah sure!” Maxwell replied and took her phone to type his number.

She dialled it immediately, and he nodded when it rang on him.

“I’ll see you soon” Sloane said

“Sure” he replied, going back in.

Sloane stared so hard till he was out, and it was Miguel’s cough which brought her back.

She looked at him, and she found him smiling mischievously.

“What’s up baby?” She asked.

“Did you just hit on a guy in front of your son? You even collected his number” he replied, and she laughed as they got in the car together.

“I like him though, he’s Limited Mell on IG, the handsome swimmer I follow back to back” he replied.

“He’s a swimmer?” Sloane asked as the driver drove them away from the company.

“Sure, my role model” he replied.

BACK IN THE COMPANY

Maxwell met Lina waiting in his office when he came back…

“I saw the files on your table about making the directors attend the meeting.

Half of the directors don’t like boss, so it’s always hard making them attend any meeting planned by her, I think that’s why she gave you the hard task” she said.

“I know what to do” he replied.

“What’d you do?” She blinked, and he smiled.

FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER

He was already on his way to the chief director’s office, if he really wants to do this, then he needs to tackle the strongest.

He’s holding a package in his right hand, smiling handsomely as he advanced his office.

His phone suddenly rang, and he checked to see it’s Francesca. He picked immediately.

“Hey Frances!”

“Limited Mell! It’s you!” She shouted.

“How did you know?” He giggled.

“Miguel called to tell me about it just now!, and I’m currently on your IG, checking out your pictures and swimming videos… you’re so cute and perfect!” She gushed.

“Aww, but Frances can we talk later? I have something urgent to attend to” he said.

“I understand, promise to call me when you’re done?” She replied.

“Promise” he replied.

“Bye Mell!” She replied, hanging up

“How cute” he smiled, returning his phone to his pocket before opening the chief director’s door.

He met him hanging his suit on the hanger, he’s obviously just getting in.
