FIVE YEARS LATER, NOVA TECH*

Bluey drove into the company and parked in the lots, she stepped out of her car and the securities immediately greeted her which she answered respectfully as well.

“Morning Secretary B”

“Good morning”

They kept on greeting as she made to grab her bag from the car,all eyes on her as usual,it’s no more a new thing.

She’s a temporary Secretary to the President,temporary because once the CEO is back,then she’s going to work directly for him and not the President.

She was putting on a short skirt that fell just above her knees, paired with a crisp white shirt tucked neatly into her waistband. Her hair was pulled back into a sleek ponytail, showcasing her beauty. Around her neck, her ID card as the symbol of her role within the company.

Completing her outfit were a pair of high heels,total epitome of beauty.

Nova Tech, the company she works for, is marvel of modern technology and innovation,it’s hard to believe that this was a company that had only been built and launched just three years ago. Yet, in that short time, Nova Tech had skyrocketed to the top of the tech industry, not just in Italy, but globally.

Every big companies want to partner with them,the company buildings are amazing sights to behold,it even top the chart as one of the biggest and most beautiful companies.

The headquarters was a marvel of design, with gleaming glass and steel towers that pierced the sky like shards of splintered light,like a mighty penthouse. The campus itself was vast, covering acres of amazing gardens, dotted with futuristic sculptures and art installations.

The main building has the structure of glass and steel which glows more brightly in the night.

They have alot of department as there are different buildings in the same company,it’s very wide,like a big estate.

That’s the company Bluey works,just six months ago after years of not doing a thing but she was living extra large.

The debit card seems unlimited and she just can’t stop thinking about Kaine everytime she make use of it,what would have become of her?

After the whole incident five years ago,she got herself a nice apartment and settled down all alone to think about her life,until she found out something crazy.

“Morning Sec!!!” Some of the staffs screamed when they saw her as she got to Technical Writers Team,they are all ladies.

“Morning everyone,I baked some cookies,if you don’t mind” Bluey said.

“You don’t really have to ask those questions anymore please!! We love your cookies and cakes!” Ivy,one of the staffs said,also known as the talkative of the company.

“She’s right Sec” Lucy agreed with her and carefully collected the bag from Bluey,she started sharing the cookies among themselves

“Thanks Sec” They all appreciated.

“The President is not here yet?” Bluey asked.

“I think he might get late,since we are finally meeting the CEO,I just can’t wait” Someone said.

“Yeah,,by ten,they should be here” Bluey nodded.

“I seriously can’t wait,I hope he’s hot so I can start crushing in peace” Lucy arranged her hair and they laughed.

“What if he’s an old man? I mean why would the company owner remain anonymous for three years and just showing up now?” Ivy asked.

Bluey chuckled and shook her head then left them,she walked to the elevator to take the fifth floor where her office is.

“Bluey” she heard her name and turned to see Mark.

He’s one of the senior staffs,a data scientist,his office also on fifth floor.

“Mark,morning” Bluey greeted and he smiled brightly at her.

Even a blind person would notice he’s in love with her,but Bluey never gave him even a chance to express himself,she feels like if she rejects him,then things might become awkward between them,she don’t want to start feeling somehow whenever she’s coming to the office.

She has never even imagined herself in a relationship with anyone,hence she rejects any man who proclaim their interest in her.

“Going up?” Mark asked.

“Yeah right” Bluey replied and they both entered the elevator.

Mark pressed the button and soon the elevator started.

Nobody talked,but Mark was lost in his world,staring at Bluey uncontrollably,she’s just perfect.

Is it her pretty face? Or the perfect hourglass shape? She’s slim and perfect,her legs are so smooth and straight,her long hair is something to write about.

Bluey has never tried to trim off her hair for once, each time she tries to cut,she would remember Kaine telling her not to dare,she would remember how much he loved her long hair.

The elevator stopped and they both walked out.

“Good morning Secretary BB”

Bluey chuckled as everyone greeted her.

“I love your skirt” one commented.

“Thanks” Bluey replied.

“Any cookies today? It’s been a week” Goldie,Bluey’s closest friend pouted from her seat.

“Tada” Bluey showed them the bag in her hand and everyone thanked her excitedly.

She left for her office,she dropped her bag on the table and sighed out,her eyes fell on the CEO’s office just opposite hers,it’s been empty,even the President don’t go in.

But just a week ago,it was suddenly announced by the General manager that the CEO is finally coming.

Today is the D-day and everyone’s expecting already.

To be honest,she’s nervous. What if the CEO is a short tempered person? She’s been dealing with her work with no problem at all,the President doesn’t have any reason to complain,but now that the CEO will be showing up,what will be her fate?

What if he doesn’t want her? It’s not as if she’s desperate for the salary,she have more than enough thanks to Kaine,but still she already love her work so much to lose it again.

“Someone’s deep in thought”

“Oh,Goldie” Bluey smiled as Goldie came in

“Bet you’re nervous,since you will be the closest to the CEO” Goldie smiled.

“Yeah,I know. I can’t help it” Bluey muttered.

“You will be fine,let’s just hope he’s not hot tempered and maybe harsh” Goldie said and Bluey nodded.

10AM, CONFERENCE HALL*

All the company staffs already present,waiting patiently for the moment to come.

Only the president was yet to be there and others asumed he’s probably with the CEO.

On the vip table are the Vice president,Directors,Manager,the chief admin and others.

Reporters around all ready with their cameras to capture the big moment.

CEO of the biggest tech company finally getting into office? Big news!

“Oh gosh I’m nervous,so nervous” Goldie whispered beside Bluey since the hall is totally silent in order.

Bluey was about to whisper back when the president walked in and everyone stood at ease.

The president stood up in front of everyone.

“Ladies and gentlemen,please welcome Mr Landon,the honorable CEO of Nova Tech” he announced and immediately the most beautiful view walked in authoritatively with guards behind him,camera flashes scattered all over.

Loud Claps overshadowed the hall

👥 Oh my gosh!!!!!

👥 He’s so handsome!!

👥 Damn!

👥 He’s so young!

“Bluey hold me I’m dying!!” Goldie screamed,shaking Bluey dramatically.

Meanwhile Bluey was standing there getting the shock of her life.

Kaine?!!! Kaine Landon?!! The CEO?! How? Just how?!

Kaine got up the stage and faced everyone,more screams filled the hall as they behold his face well enough.

He looks even more handsome,hot and attractive as usual,his brows moved up and down as he watched everyone still clapping and screaming.

“He still doesn’t know how to smile” Bluey mumbled as she stared at him from where she was standing.

“As you can see,He’s as innocent as s dove” The president added and Kaine looked at him blankly.

After a while the noise died down to listen to him.

“Morning” He greeted in his usual deep and charming voice.

“Is he human? He’s so hot” Goldie pinched Bluey who said nothing.

“It’s a good feeling to be here,finally,I’m happy to stand before you all after years of my absence, Let’s work together to shape the future of Nova Tech. Thank you.” he concluded shortly and they began clapping again.

“He doesn’t talk too much,gosh I’m in love” Goldie gushed.

“In love with someone you don’t know? Come on” Bluey chuckled.

“Doesn’t matter” Goldie said and Bluey shook her head.

Not just her,most female staffs right now are busy blushing and crushing.

There was a short get together after that and about one hour after,everyone got dismissed.

Bluey couldn’t even bring herself to go to her office,she was nervous,too nervous. Maybe a total stranger would have been better,just how is she going to stand in front of him now? How? What if he request for a change and she gets sacked? He possibly still hates her guts,Bluey’s hope died the moment she saw him enter the conference hall,every hope.

“Gosh,He’s trending all over the internet,gosh” One of the staffs announced.

“I was expecting this” Goldie chuckled as she showed Bluey her phone as well.

Bluey sighed and returned the ohone back to Goldie immediately.

“Aren’t you going to introduce yourself to him?” Mark sat beside Bluey.

“I…I should” Bluey muttered.

Almost immediately,her phone rang,it’s the President.

“Sir” Bluey answered the call

“Where are you Secretary,your work starts immediately,you should know what to do by now,we’ve been waiting for a week,don’t disappoint me please”

“I won’t sir”

The call hung up and Bluey sighed out,she got up.

“You gat this Bluey” Goldie winked at her.

“Thanks” She muttered and walked away.

She got to the office and gently pressed the door buzzer once.

“Come in” His voice sent chills over her body but she calmed herself and opened the door,then closed.

He was busy staring at the painting on the wall so he wasn’t facing her.

“I’m here” Bluey said softly and slowly he turned to see the face of Secretary the president had told him about how hard working she is.

Their eyes locked immediately and Bluey gulped,Kaine’s expression didn’t change,neither did he stare for too long.

He walked over to sit down on his seat.

“Introduce yourself” He muttered.

‘What?! He doesn’t remember me? Or he’s joking?!’ Bluey thought inwardly.

“Bluey Smith” She said.

Where she found ‘Smith?’ Nowhere,she just named herself randomly,she needed a first name badly and she just used it.

“The secretary?” Kaine asked.

“Yes Sir” Bluey replied.

“My work starts fully tomorrow,but I would like to know some schedules beforehand… ” Kaine was saying but Bluey was totally lost staring.

Just why is he acting like they are strangers? He’s making her even more nervous with this silence of his,why can’t he just confront her? If he still hates her,then she wouldn’t blame him if he decides to sack her.

But why is he acting like they had no history together? Why is he still the same even after five years? Just why?

Bluey bit her lips,she doesn’t even hear a thing he was saying,she was only staring at his mouth movement.

For the past five years,she never forgets about him,each day she remembers,but now that she’s seeing him,those memories became raw again in her head,like they all happened yesterday,both the sweet ones and painful ones,everything.

But does he even remember? Does he? Has he forgotten about her totally?

“Are you listening?” Kaine’s voice brought her back to reality.

She opened her mouth to talk but just then the Ipad on the table started buzzing.

Kaine swiped green and answered the face time call.

“You’re finally back silly,how dare you keep something that huge from me?!” The voice screamed.

“I don’t need to tell you,do I? You found out somehow” Kaine replied.

That voice sounds familiar to Bluey.

“I’ve missed you bad,tell me we are meeting tonight,I’m going to close down the store if you want us now”

Right,that’s Adriana.

She owns one of the biggest fashion store in Italy,only the rich shop there,celebrities too,she’s really popular herself.

Bluey remember they met once few months after Kaine’s departure.

Adriana told her she’s not going to touch any money which belongs to Don Bruno and she was ready to give everything out to Bluey since she also got her own money.

But Bluey totally refused,the fact is that she has never for once accepted neither Queen mother as her mother or Bruno as her father,so she won’t spend his money either.

In the end,the properties was donated to some orphanage homes which Bluey was glad about. At least she’s living big as well so she doesn’t need it.

“I’m in the office Riana,I will let you know if we can meet tonight” Kaine told Adriana.

Bluey suddenly wondered if Bian and Risky are back as well.

Kaine hung up and looked at her again.

“You may start” He muttered.

FANG’S HOUSE*

Sapphire sat down on the couch with a bucket of popcorn while dialing Bluey’s number and soon she answered.

Well yes,they both reconciled four years ago,since they are the only family left,they have just each other.

Sapphire found Bluey by herself and since then they’ve been so close.

“Hey,how are you feeling?” Sapphire asked.

“You didn’t call me to mock right?” Bluey asked and Sapphire laughed out loudly.

“I’m sure your heart is misbehaving already,I can feel your pain,so gist me,how is it going? Have you two talked….”

“We talked,about business yes” Bluey replied.

“What? Just that?”

“I’m confused as well,,He’s totally acting like I’m a stranger,does he hate me so much that he forgot my face? I’m dying here,I can’t even confront him,I can’t lose my job,why am I so unlucky? My heart is totally misbehaving like you said,I don’t even trust what I can do” Bluey said.

“Oh come on baby girl,everything will be fine,why not tell him everything? Like just try to have a conversation with him” Sapphire said.

“I don’t know how to,he’s totally the same Sapphire,He’s no longer a mafia but those cold expressions remain the same,it scares me like hell” Bluey muttered.

“You will be fine,,I’m just happy that he’s finally back. Let’s hope for the best” Sapphire said.

“I have to go,,I answered your call in the restroom” Bluey said.

“Alright baby sis” Sapphire mumbled and hung up.

She resumed her popcorn but then she heard the door code being pressed,she turned and waited for the door to open.

Fang came in.

“Babe!” She screamed and immediately dropped the popcorn,she ran to jump on Fang who caught her into a warm hug.

“I missed you” She pouted as they both stared at each other closely,He’s still carrying her with her legs wrapped around him.

“It’s barely two hours already” Fang said.

“But I’ve missed you” She said and pecked his lips.

Fang chuckled and touched her nose.

“You knew right? That Kaine was coming back” She asked as they walked to the couch.

“Yeah” Fang smiled and sat down,she sat there on his laps.

“Is there a welcome party?” She asked.

“Puma talked about that,but I don’t know if the boss would agree,I will talk to him” Fang said.

“You sound like you missed him alot,I’m so happy he’s back” Sapphire said.

“Me too,finally” Fang smiled.

“But Bian and Risky…”

“They are not back,I don’t know when” Fang shook his head.

“Oh” Sapphire mumbled.

Kaine checked the time on his wrist watch while inside the elevator,he already told Adriana to meet up by 6pm and now he’s just leaving the office.

There was alot than he had imagined,just for today and he had to deal with two official meetings already,he rejected the interviews but tomorrow won’t be the same at all and he knows.

The elevator opened and he walked out only for something to bump into his legs,then a fall followed.

Kaine looked down to see what happened and it was a little boy who’s about four years of age who fell,the snack in his hand dropped as well but he got up right away and raised his head to look at Kaine.

“Mister….did I hurt you?” He asked in his baby voice,so cute,his fluffy hair made him even more cute.

Kaine loves children alot,they always remind him of when Bian was a child.

But still,who among the staffs would bring a child to the company?

Kaine squatted in front of him and gifted him his first smile of the day.

“I should be asking you that,I’m sorry for making you fall” He said and picked up his biscuit for him.

“Thank you mister,you’re so handsome,like me” He grinned,revealing his feet teeth.

Kaine smiled brighter.

“Right,I took after you” He said.

“Mister,you’re so nice,do you like busicuit?” The boy asked,handing over his biscuit to Kaine.

He’s a child but sounds so sharp.

“This is for you,finish all okay? Are you alone?” He asked.

“Mommy will be here soon,she went to pick up my bag so we got home”

Kaine nodded.

“Our house is really amazing,do you want to follow me? I can show you” He said and Kaine chuckled.

“Really?”

“Yes mister,and my mom is beautiful too”

“Ohhh”

“My dad is also handsome,I took after him,that’s what I was told” He continue talking,he already held Kaine’s hand and not letting him go.

“I see,that’s why you’re cute” Kaine said and he smiled happily.

“Oliver” a voice called

“Mommy!” He released Kaine’s hand and ran to meet who called.

Kaine turned and his eyes fell on Bluey who was also looking at him already.

Kaine looked at Oliver,then back to Bluey but he didn’t say a word.

“Mommy,the mister is so nice,can we invite him to our house? You can bake him a cake,the delicious ones” Oliver said.

Kaine looked at Oliver again and without another word he turned and made to leave.

“Mister! Don’t go yet!” Oliver cried and Bluey stopped him from running to Kaine.

Kaine turned back.

“You should go home with your mom” He smiled at him.

“Come with us” Oliver replied.

“I have my own house” Kaine said.

“Are you married?” Oliver asked and Bluey’s eyes widened,she immediately covered his mouth.

“No,I’m not married” Kaine replied.

Oliver pushed Bluey’s hand from his mouth.

“Marry my mommy then” He said.

Bluey and Kaine blinked in shock.
