Hailey stood, facing him and deciding not to look at the water around since that’s where her fear comes from.
She smirked before talking…
“Even if you do more than this, you still won’t get me. I love Manson and nothing can change that” she said boldly, and she witnessed it again.
The twitch that happens in the corner of Colt’s eyes, and the darkness surrounding his lids.
His eyes turned red in a whim, and the anger graduated to fury.
Then mad rage…
She didn’t get a warning before he pushed her chest, and she fell into the river with a splash.
“Colt! C…o..kkcc!!” She gagged as water rushed into her mouth.
Colt squatted slowly on the boat and watched like a predator, his cruelty staining his features as his lashes stayed in the middle of his eyes.
Hailey tried surfacing countlessly, but it was useless since she doesn’t know how to swim.
She kept coming up, coughing and going down till she used up all her energy and began drowning.
Colt jumped into the river at this point after three minutes, finally taking pity on her.
He dived down, and after a minute, he surfaced with her.
Hailey quickly wrapped her arms and legs tightly on him, trembling and coughing as her hair got stuck on her facial and bodily skin, same with his own.
Colt watched her through his lids as she struggled to get her bearings.
The water around them swirled in circles, and she began panting heavily and fast, vomiting water.
“Can you breathe?” He asked in amusement, and before she could even reply, she vomited water again.
“I want out… please take me out of this water!!” she yelled breathlessly, roping herself to his body as the water coldness sent chills to her pores.
Suddenly; like flash, a sniper red dot appeared on his chest, and he was lucky to sight it quickly.
“Sniper!” Hailey gasped, and he quickly ducked into the water.
The gunshot came, and the bullet entered the water, chasing them.
On top of a tree not far from the water, Leilani sat masked, her sniper rifle positioned well in the right angle.
She actually trailed them here.
According to Blake’s orders, she’s supposed to kill Colt while Lysandra will kill Queen Rania.
It’s like division of labor.
She released another bullet, and another, and another, and another, rushing the shots into the water since she’s seeing them underwater through her lenses.
The most annoying part is the part where Colt pushed Hailey in the water cos she witnessed everything.
Now her determination to kill him only grew as she released several silvertip bullets into the water.
Meanwhile, inside the water, Hailey’s arms unwrapped from Colt’s body since she already lost consciousness from spending too much time underwater.
Before her body could slip, Colt caught her, bringing her back to himself and hugging her mad tight.
Immediately her body covered his own, the shooter stopped shooting.
Whoever is shooting obviously cares a lot about Hailey. He’s the shooter’s target.
With one hand, he pressed Hailey’s slump body to himself again, diving professionally before raising his middle finger forward.
Leilani saw the FÛCK YOU sign through her lenses, and a smirk tugged at her lips.
Seems this is better done face-to-face.
She jumped down the tree, and without thinking twice, she jumped into the water with them.
