CHAPTER 20

“We would love to undergo the operation for her now. It’s just someone who needs money.” The doctor responded and they both felt so happy.

He remembered what Alex said.

“I would love to tell them myself, I don’t want her to say no to me. That is how Kimberly can be.”

“Thank you so much. I am so happy to hear this news. I don’t care how much I have to pay, I would wholeheartedly pay it.” Landon said and the doctor smiled.

“it is fine. Let me go and prepare for the surgery. It would begin in an hour, and I would be needing to move her away from this ward.” He said and they both nodded.

“Anything you do is fine by us doctor,” Peter responded and the doctor nodded walking out of the ward.

Peter and Landon exchanged looks like they were waiting for one of them to start talking.

“Let us move outside,” Peter muttered and they both moved outside the ward.

“I can believe this just happened. It was so time accurate, this must be an angel sent from God.” Peter stated and Landon smiled happily.

“I am so happy that you wouldn’t have to do anymore. I couldn’t stop thinking about how Kim will feel knowing that you were gone because of her.” Landon said and Peter sighed.

“God must have seen my heart and rewarded my thoughts and actions of love,” Peter added and Landon nodded.

“But shouldn’t we meet the donor? We need to know who the person is right?” Landon asked and Peter sighed.

“That can wait Landon. All we have to do now is to see Kimberly recover from all these. For the doctor to say we have found one, then he must have tested the donor and must have seen he or she is in the right health position to give it out.” Peter explained and Landon nodded.

“So all we have to do is pay for it,” Landon said and Peter smiled.

“And then later, we can meet the donor for more appreciation and gifts,” Peter said and Landon agreed firmly to it.

“It is alright then. The money is not the problem like you said. All we need and want is to see her doing fine, without anyone dying.” Landon muttered and Peter smiled.

Though he wanted to die cos he was tired of almost everything, he was so happy that he would be able to see more of Kimberly, in a good state of health before he dies.

AFTER 8 HOURS

Alex laid on the bed in the ward with his eyes shut. Luckily for him, the operation went complete.

He opened his eyes and gazed at the ceiling for minutes. He was yet to think straight. After minutes of trying to patch things together, he finally remembers all that had happened.

“I just gave out my kidney to the woman I love.” He thought and he smiled widely.

He was so happy he did it.

“Now I would be a part of her and she would want me because I saved her life. She would realize that I love her so much and then would come to me because Landon could give her nothing on her dying bed.” He thought happily.

The door opened and he turned his head to look at who was coming. It happened to be Racheal.

“You are still alive.” She said walking to where Alex laid and he responded with a smirk.

“I know you wanted me dead in the process. But fortunately for you, I am alive and well.” He replied and Racheal gave back a fake smile.

“So what are your plans now?” She asked and Alex looked away.

“It is none of your business anymore. You are free to move out of the picture. “He said and Racheal furrowed her brows.

“I helped you to this level and now you want to shut me out? This is my daughter, you can’t just shut me out. I helped you.” She said and Alex smiled looking at her.

“You helped me to save your own an*s. Not mine. Now I am releasing you to go in peace but you keep insisting to stay. Later you call me the devil.” He said and Rachael went mute for seconds.

“Fine! But don’t even try to call me into this matter again. Never.” She said walking off the ward and Alex watched her as she did.

She got out of the ward and walked straight up to the doctor’s ward. She got there and saw the doctor was locked.

Fortunately for her, a nurse was passing at the moment, so she stopped her.

“Good day, please can you tell me where the doctor went? Is he off seat already?” she asked and the nurse shook her head.

“He is in the hospital. He is operating on a patient, please wait till he is done.” She said and Rachel nodded.

“Right. Thank you so much.” She said and the nurse smiled walking away.

Rachael decided to walk down the hallway to see if she would find Peter or Landon to warm them for what is coming in front of them.

Luckily for her, she sighted Peter and Landon sitting on a chair next to an OR.

“That must be Kimberly.” She thought approaching them quickly.

Peter was the first to see Racheal approaching and he stood up immediately to face her.

“I told you not to come here again. Why are you here?” He asked keeping his voice low.

“Before you attack me, please listen to what I have to say.” She said looking at Landon.

“What do you have to say, Ma’am?” Landon asked standing up too.

“Please after Kimberly is alright. If possible, immediately after the surgery. Please fly her out of the country. I beg of you. It is a saver.” She said and Peter and Landon exchanged looks.

“You have no right whatsoever to tell us what to do and not to do okay? You can buy barge in acting like her mother.” Peter said and she sighed.

“I know you are angry. I know you hate me, but please listen to me.” She said and began to walk away.
