“I need it more” he replied, and despite Adeline’s teary face, she couldn’t fight the chuckle that crackled in her throat, then she looked up at him.
“Can you stop being arrogant for once, Madden?” She comfortably said, and he slowly brought his cold hand to her face, fingering her freckles and wiping her tears at the same time.
She leaned into his touch, and his brows dipped attractively as he watched her.
“It’s inbuilt, and every other fuçked up stuff in my bloodstream. Don’t be surprised if you find out more triggering things” he said meaningfully, and she almost threw him another question, but he already grabbed her by the wrist, leading the way while taking her away.
She just followed, and till they left the basement vicinity, she didn’t look back for once.
She already filtered Kimberly out of her memories, and though the betrayal still hurts like a bîtch, she’d bear the fire so far Madden stays with her.
Though he’s an emotionless beast who doesn’t know how to sympathize or console.
Hell, he even lacks empathy and pity, and he’s wicked to a fault, but still… The little flicker of kindness he showed her will not be taken for granted.
Her mind went back to Corey’s words…
“If you need help to escape the clan, I’ll help you”
Can she even leave now? She still needs to find out why The Pakhan ordered Corey to kill her parents.
Yeah. Maybe when she finally finds that out, she’d leave, but can she really… leave?
Her eyes went to her wrist which is still held by Madden who’s walking beside her, and she traced his arm to his handsome face, smiling slightly.
Deeply, she’s glad she has him.
They finally arrived at the mountain and entered the freezing manor together.

DOWNTOWN, SERGEI’S OFFICE*
A political meeting ended just now, and several big burly men could be seen pouring out of the office.
Igor is in front of the office, watching them with little patience till the last one came out, then he went in.
He met Sergei on seat, and he settled in front of him without being told to.
“A sudden meeting with you doesn’t sound appealing, Igor Orlov” Sergei said, weaving his fingers together on the glass table.
“You know why I’m here, so quit acting blind” Igor replied, and Sergei chuckled, adjusting his tie.
“I stand with Madden till the end. We have an unbreakable relationship” he said.
“Madden won’t give you anything! He’s not winning this game! I have my father’s support so tell me how he’s gonna overpower me!” Igor spat.
“Your father’s support? How daft can you be, Igor” Sergei rested back, and Igor spranged up, raising a blow to his face.
Before he could punch him, guards rushed in front different angles in the office, and one of them yanked Igor away, throwing him against the smaller table.
Igor lurched back, breathing heavily as Sergei stood.
“Madden is easily a part of my family,, and if you wanna make me turn my back on him, then you need to do more than this childish offer. You seriously look like an highschool kid.
Tasteless, classless and strategically dry. You’re clueless too, which is why Erik has been riding you like a pony” he said with a clear tone of ridicule and left the office.
His guards followed him, but two of them stated back to escort Igor out.
Igor hit his shoe against wall immediately he got out, then he cursed out countlessly.
“That old dîck!”
He dished out his phone and dialled Andrei.
“It didn’t go well like I predicted?” Andrei’s voice came from the other end.
“Shut the fûck up and tell me what you think! Sergei is a hard nut to crack, and I need something to hold him down” Igor replied restlessly.
“Are you asking me for advice right now?” Andrei said, and Igor could imagine him scoffing.
“Don’t rub it on my face. I’m helpless here @sshole!” Igor shouted.
“Come back then, and we can talk” Andrei replied, and Igor hung up, driving off the area.
