Madden could plant a bullet between her eyes right now or kidnap her and take her to the basement where he’d torture her till people won’t be able to tell her mouth from her nose.
He could decide to behead her right here and take her head to his dogs, but he chose not to do any.
He has never treated the clan as if Erik is The Pakhan. He treats it as if his father is still the Pakhan, and till he takes over by himself, he won’t allow any harm over it.
With a sharp eye roll, he sat back, and an unsettling hush enveloped the hall.
Time itself seems to have been arrested, leaving the room in a perpetual state of silence.
The table was pulled back between them, and a already-set board of Go was brought to the table by a server.
“I believe you know how to play” Mercy said arrogantly.
Madden replied with a smirk, and she grinned.
He badly wants to wipe the ground with that grin.
Adeline exchanged glances with Loud and Jinx, and they both have confident looks in their eyes.
She’s not scared though… She trusts Madden that much.
She turned to the other side to look at Sin and Trixie, then Andrei and Kimberly.
They’re all gallant behind Igor, and when her eyes met with Kimberly’s, she looked away immediately.
Mercy started the game, moving her first stone on the board then waited for Madden to move his own.
Adeline watched keenly as Madden’s eyes ran through the board before settling on one stone
He touched the stone with two fingers and was about to move it when Adeline noticed something under the table.
Mercy is playing the game with her right hand, but her left hand is under the table.
Adeline moved to another angle to have a clearer view, and immediately she got the view, her eyes widened.
It’s a gun! And Mercy is about to pull the trigger on Madden.
She literally pushed the mobsters out of her way and ran two steps forward, jumping skillfully on the Go table before swinging her leg in a circle, kicking Mercy in the face.
Mercy fell from her chair to the ground, and her gun flew to the far end of the room.
Igor spranged up shockingly, but Madden remained sitting.
Mercy’s gun was the first thing he noticed under the table when they came into this hall ten minutes ago, but he decided to trust Adeline with it.
As expected, she didn’t disappoint.
Adeline jumped down from the table smartly.
Loud, Jinx and the other members of Madden’s team directed their guns at Mercy immediately.
Igor and his team didn’t make any move at all, then Madden stood tall to his feet.
Loud threw him a brandishing machete which he caught cleanly by the hilt, then he started walking to Mercy, suspense filling the room.
“My boys surrounded this bar already! They’re on their way to this hall presently! Kill me and you won’t get the goods!” Mercy shouted desperately as she stood from the ground, shifting back.
“I’ll kill you and still get the goods, then I’ll proceed to kill everyone you love… Whore” Madden replied glacially, raising the machete on her neck.
He was about to behead her when Adeline saw Kimberly from hindsight.
She’s the only one raising her gun in Igor’s team, and she’s pointing it at Madden’s head.
