CHAPTER 112
Paisley was dumbfounded, it was as though her ears stopped malfunctioning that moment.
“Boy…. Boyfriend?” She stammered, staring at her friend in incredulity.
“Yea.i accepted him yesterday, I almost died while avoiding him and….” Paisley’s loud scream shut Melanie up as she was suddenly engulfed into a tight hug.
“Urgh… You’re… Choking me,” Melanie coughed while trying to breathe.
“Are you for real? Axel is your boyfriend now??” Paisley screamed happily.
“Let go first,” Melanie tugged at Paisley’s arm gently.
The door opened and Mrs. Brown showed up. Her forehead wrinkled in confusion and she rested on the doorframe, staring at the two friends who were oblivious of her presence.
She actually rushed there when she heard Paisley’s loud scream. But getting here, she met another sight… A beautiful sight to behold.
Paisley broke the hug and her hand instantly went to Melanie’s fresh cheek, pulling it teasingly.
“So, that was why you rushed away from school? To meet him?” She wiggled her brows.
Melanie sI.apped her hands with a chuckle.
“We both missed each other. Gosh, I was so stupid for asking him to stay away, I must have gone insane then” she breathed out.
“What about Ace?” Paisley suddenly asked.
“I don’t think he’s gonna take this lightly,” she added.
“Axel promised to talk to him, he just needs to accept the fact that I’m over him and I’m in love with Axel” Melanie said with a smile.
“Don’t worry, it’ll be fine. But, I’m still a little bit shocked. Axel is your boyfriend now?”
“Like….” Paisley giggled excitedly and her eyes went to the door.
She was struck dumb when she found Mrs. Brown staring at them with her hands across her chest. A scrutiny gaze was plastered on her face.
“Aunt….” She stuttered, glancing at Melanie with the corner of her eye.
Wait… Aunt? Melanie turned to the door and color drained on her face when her eyes beheld her Mom’s.
“Mom….” She stammered.
Mrs. Brown slowly walked towards them. Each step she took sent shivers down Melanie and Paisley’s spine.
“You have a boyfriend again?” Mrs. Brown asked.
“Erm… Mom, I,” Melanie shut her eyes tightly before opening it back.
“Yes, Mom” her voice came out more boldly than she expected.
“And… I love him,”came another word from her.
Did she just say that?? To her Mom??
“Stop talking please,” Melanie’s frustrated voice begged her inner self.
Paisley was not left out. She was also shocked to hear that from Melanie.
Mrs. Brown walked towards Melanie. Her hand stretched forth in the air and Melanie’s face involuntarily moved to the other side, expecting to receive something hard on her cheek.
Instead, she was pulled to a motherly hug and she was dumbstruck.
“I’m glad to find you moving on,” Mrs. Brown whispered.
“The thought of you being sad and heartbroken, shattered me. I know the feeling of you being betrayed by someone you least expected but I’m glad that you finally moved on,” She concluded with a smile.
