【COLD HUSBAND】
Karen walked by the roadside dejectedly, she was trying to hold back her tears but there just flowing freely down her cheeks. She just lost her best friend due to her actions.
A car suddenly pulled over and the tinted windows whined down. Karen narrowed her gaze at the familiar person.
“You!” She called as her mind finally got where she knew the face from. It’s Andrew’s manager.
“Redford is the name” He smiled at her.
“Hop in” He added. Karen opened the car door and entered the front seat.
“Where are you coming from,Mrs Lancelot?” He asked as he drove down the road.
Karen made faces as the name “Mrs Lancelot” sounded strange to her ears.
“I went to see a friend and I got thrown out instead” She answered with a small smile.
“Let me guess, it’s about your marriage to Andrew”
“Yes, how did you know?”
“I just guessed and besides, it was likely to happen. You should try explain things to that friend of yours and I’m sure she’ll come around” Redford said.
“I hope so too, They are all I got” Karen mumbled.
“You have me at your service anytime, Mrs Lancelot” Redford added facing her with a smile.
“The name is Karen, Mrs Lancelot seem a bit…it makes me feel old” Karen voiced out her thoughts causing Redford to burst into laughter.
“Fine, Karen” He said.
“Do you have any idea why Andrew ditched his bride?” She decided to ask him since he seems a bit approachable and nice.
“You really want to know?” Redford muttered on noticing her countenance, curiosity was laced in it.
“She had been cheating on him the whole time and he just found out. A s£x tape of her sh*tty actions with a man was sent to him just before the wedding” Redford explained. Karen just mouthed an “oh” as it became clearer to her.
“How is it going with him? I mean Andrew”
“I don’t know, I still don’t understand what I am doing. I’m starting to regret my decision, I acted cheaply and…..
“Just give it time okay? Everything will fall in place” Redford said reassuringly.

~LANCELOT CONGLOMERATES~
Andrew puffed out smoke from the cigarrette as he watched the s£x tape for the umpteenth times. A chuckle escaped his lips as his eyes were fixated on his phone screen.
“They are all the same, all girls are b*tches” He said to himself. The pains he was feeling could be compared to none, he truly loved Yasmine and then this?
The door opened revealing Redford, he coughed lightly as the smoke from the cigarette filled the office.
“What do you think you are doing? Smoking in the office, this is too extreme” Redford said with a look of displease. Apart from being Andrew’s manager, he is also very close to Andrew. They’ve been friends since they were in college.
Andrew rolled his eyeballs and continued with his cigarette, he didn’t even spare Redford a glance as his eyes were on the phone screen.
Redford grabbed the phone from him and he sighed deeply on seeing what Andrew was watching.
“This again? You should just accept whatever happened and move on with your life” Redford said.
“I loved her, I was hoping to spend the rest of my life with her and no one else. I was ready to do anything for her sake and then…. women are devil incarnate, they are all the same” He retorted.
“You should be saying that, not all women are the same, I’m sure there are still good ones out there. How about the woman you married? You should try to open your heart towards her” Redford suggested.
“I’m done with love” Andrew said simply.
“Then, why did you marry her? I mean Karen?”
“It just happened, she happens to be available at that point and I just did what I thought I should do” Andrew answered with a slight shrug.
“I’ve known you for years Andrew, you are not the type to make careless decisions” Redford said, narrowing his gaze at Andrew who didn’t even spare him a glance this time.
“I’ll be at the management team and don’t forget, be nice to her” Redford said before stepping out of the office. Andrew let out a groan, throwing his head behind him in frustration.

Luciana knocked on the glass partition and waited for a while but she got no response from Andrew. She knocked again before opening the door.
“I brought the files you asked me to go through and I sorted them out already” She said to Andrew whose gaze was on his laptop.
She walked stylishly towards him making sure that her hips swayed to the both sides. She dropped the files on the table before leaning closer.
“Do you want me to do anything else for you?” She inquired, the first three buttons of her shirt were unbutton making sure to reveal her cleavages.
“Just leave, you’re done for the day” He said.
“But… you seem busy, I would like to help out” She protested.
“Get out” His voice came out cold and that made her scurry out of the office. She closed the door behind her, leaning on it while breathing heavily.
“You caused this Karen” She muttered with gritted teeth.

~EVENING_LANCELOT MANSION~
Karen’s eyes lit up as she stared at the caller, she quickly swiped green and sat up on the bed.
“You know I am still mad at you right?” Kimora’s voice came up.
“I know and words are not enough to express how sorry I am” Karen replied.
“I’ve always wanted to be the bride’s maid, you should have called me at least” Kimora whined from the other end causing Karen to chuckle lightly.
“How is your marriage life going, Mrs Lancelot?” She asked. A smile appeared on one corner of Karen’s face, just the thought that Kimora still cares was enough to lit her up.
“How did the wedding night go? I heard that it used to be the best night of one’s life, was he rough? Just tell me everything, don’t miss out a single detail” Kimora added almost immediately.
“Typical Kimora, I knew you were going to ask that” Karen laughed.
“Are you telling me or not? I just want to know how it feels like, afterall you are the married one in our midst” Kimora said.
“Well, nothing happened. It was just, like a normal night for me” Karen replied with a slight shrug.
“Girl! Why are you spoiling things for yourself? If he does not approach you, then go to him! Wear a s*xy dress that will make him drip and loose his senses” Kimora said from the other end.
“I don’t want to act so cheap. Come to think of it, I’ve been acting cheap the whole time, from giving my first kiss to him, to the night stand we had and then blindly accepting his marriage proposal without a second thought” Karen explained.
“Have you told him about the child?” Kimora inquired.
“I haven’t! I’m scared, what if he rejects the child? What if he don’t believe that the child is his? What if…. I just don’t know, Kimora. I’m really confused on what to do” Karen said with so much emotions laced in his voice.
“I’m sure you’ll be fine okay? You’ve always been strong and now, you have to be stronger to overcome what is ahead of you. Don’t let the situation around you affect your thinking, okay?” Kimora advised.
“Thank you…. and about Luciana?”
“I’m sure she’ll be fine and she’ll come around soon. I really have to go now, I have a blind date tonight and I have to dress hot and s£xy. Who knows I might just have a night stand with a rich man and then boom! We will fall in love and get married, isn’t that so perfect?” Kimora said dreamily.
“Good luck with it” Karen said before hanging up. The smile that had been on her face during the whole conversation disappeared immediately as the thought of Lucinana came again. She exhaled sharply falling to the bed.

Andrew walked into the mansion, the living was dimly litted but he managed to make his way through. His eyes caught a figure on the couch making him halt.
For a while, he seem to forget the fact he is married and that he has a wife at home. He stared at her briefly, he noticed that her lips were trembling and her whole body was shaking probably due to cold.
He sighed deeply before going closer to her, he stared at her for a while. It is the first time he is looking at her this close up and to be honest with himself, she is really beautiful. Her long eyelashes stood out and then her perfect oval face.
He raised his hand to tuck a part of her hair that was covering her face but he stopped, momentarily scolding himself. He moved away from her before taking the stairs leaving her shivering on the couch.

~REDFORD MANSION~
Just as Redford stepped out of the car, his gaze landed on Yasmine who was resting on her car, the same Rolls-Royce phantom Andrew had gifted her.
He ignored her presense, heading for his car. He was dressed for work already judging by his outfit.
“Didn’t he see me?” Yasmine let out a loud scoff walking briskly to him. She was lucky to catch up with him before he entered his car.
“Are you naturally blind or you just pretended not to see me?” She asked rudely.
“If avoiding bad luck in the early hours of the morning makes me blind, then I am blind” He retorted.
“I have no dealings with you, who is the lady Andrew got married to? Has he been cheating on me the whole time?” She inquired.
“Now I wonder who should be asked that question, who cheated on who?” He retorts.
“What do you mean?”
“How shameless can you be Yasmine? You had s£x with someone else, a day to your wedding! After all the love he showed her, the care and attention was out of the world but what did you repay him with?” Redford said.
“What…. What do you mean by that? How the hell did you find out?” Yasmine exclaimed with gritted teeth.
“Someone sent the s£x tape to Andrew” He replied.
“Who?” She asked almost immediately, her eyes widening at every passing seconds. It was still shocking to her. Redford meant to open his mouth to speak but he suddenly stopped.
“Why am I replying you?” Redford asked no one in particular and with that, he pushed her out of the way. He entered his car, ignited the engine and the car roared back to life.
He whined down the glasses, poking his head out.
“And as for who he got married to? He got married to his wife and they are living happily so just rest” Redford said, he released a mockery smirk before zooming off.
“No…. no…. seven” Yasmine muttered ruffling her hair like a deranged person.

~LANCELOT MANSION~
Andrew came out the stairs dressed casually with his both hands tucked in his pocket. He furrowed his brows on the sight in front of him.
Karen was setting the table!
He took a deep breathe before walking past her, like he didn’t see her at all. He meant to go to the kitchen when her voice stopped him.
“Good morning!” She greeted cheerfully but as expected she got no reply.
“I made breakfast, you should join me” She added putting on a smile on her face. He remained rooted in a spot as if he was considering her offer. Karen face beamed hopefully waiting for a positive response but his next action stopped her.
He took a step further, going to the kitchen.
She quickly ran after him and caught him by his arm and that halted his steps. He trailed his eyes from her hand which was holding his clothes back to her face, coldly.
“Oh, sorry about that” She quickly apologized, dropping her hand down.
“Well, just take it as a thank you from me for using the duvet to cover me up last night” She said biting the inside of her mouth. She raised her head to look up to his face hopefully.
