HER HEARTLESS MONSTER : CHAPTER 21 – 30
GLENNVILLE PRIVATE HOSPITAL*
The first attendant to enter the morgue that night met the shock of her life.
The plan was to turn off the lights, but then she couldn’t find Slade on his stretcher anymore, and the clothe he was covered with is laying helplessly on the ground.
“Oh gawd!” She gasped, running all the way back to the main building.
“Professor Slade’s body is missing!!! He’s missing!!!” She yelled to anyone who cared to listen.
Doctors and nurses trooped out of wards and offices within minutes, and the hallway became full.
“Prof. Slade’s body is gone!!!” She screamed again.
“What are you talking about?” The head doctor said with a frown.
“Come to the morgue with me” she pulled the doctor and turned around to take him out of the hallway, but she froze in place when she saw Slade himself sitting in the middle of the hallway, watching them with an entertaining smirk on his lips.
“Impossible” The nurse muttered and went down straight, fainting with several other nurses and doctors.
The ones who didn’t faint immediately ran away, bumping against each other in the thin hallway.
Slade stood to his feet, and the smirk continued rowing on his face as he walked out of the chaotic hospital.
He’d do anything to find entertainment. He’d play any game to find fun and escape boredom.
That’s just how he’s built.
He got out of the hospital gate and stopped when he saw his phantom car in front of it.
The window went down, revealing Uriel, his only acquaintance. He’s sitting on the driver’s seat.
A very sturdy guy who looks same age as him.
“The fûck are you doing here? And in my damn car? How did you even get it out of the university compound?” Slade spoke with a scowl.
“Come on in” Uriel replied plainly.
Slade kept his frown intact as he got in the backseat of the car, and Uriel drove him off.
“The doormen at the university let me in after i used Kontrol on them” Uriel explained.
“That thing is still in existence?” Slade scoffed, picking the tablet beside him.
“Yeah. In fact, it got more popular, and I placed an order for it since two years ago but i just got it this year for a whopping two billion dollars” Uriel replied.
“That’s literally your life investment” Slade said casually, putting on the tab.
“It’s worth it. I can use it on any bank manager and I’ll have my billions back” Uriel replied, and Slade nodded as the tab loaded.
“Then I got into the school and heard about your shooting. A girl named Twilight shot you, and immediately I heard the name, I knew it was her. The jasmine scented girl her ladyship talked about” Uriel continued.
“Don’t say mother’s words to my ears right now… it’s not advisable” Slade said, not looking up at all.
“But her ladyship was right. Here’s your chance to finally lift the curse… Kill her once and for all and leave the university. You have a number of fortunes waiting for you at home. His lordship Timothy has twenty establishments in the city and now he’s building the 21st one, but none of it is getting proper care” Uriel said.
“Not my headache” Slade replied, scrolling through the tab already.
True to Uriel’s words, Timothy Luther’s new establishment is all-over the city news.
He turned off the tab and threw it back to where he picked it from, then he winded down the window beside him, staring out of the empty city of Glennville as Uriel drove smoothly.
“You need to kill the girl” Uriel spoke up again.
“She’s fun to toy with. You should see how beautiful she looked when she was shooting me. Why would I kill her when she’s serving a purpose?” Slade said with an eerie tone, and Uriel immediately stopped the car.
“I know you’re masochistic…I know you enjoy hatred, anger and pain from others, but she’s different. She’s your personal poison and you know it. Kill this girl and let’s get it over with. Her ladyship and your sister are waiting at home. The island is useless without you” he said.
“Stop talking about it” Slade said, warning evident in his voice.
“But boss…
“One more word about it from you, and I swear to the devil I’ll snap your neck, Uriel. It’s easy to snap from the back here” Slade cut him off sharply, and that did the magic.
Uriel brought the car engines back to life and resumed the drive.
The rest of the drive to the university was short and silent, and the drive up the hill was even more quiet.
The doormen opened the black gate, and Uriel drove in, stopping at the medium park.
Slade got out, and surprisingly, Uriel did the same.
“I don’t share my bed as it’s only big enough for just me, so you can either go back to the orphanage or…
“I’ll sleep in the car” Uriel cut him off.
“Suit yourself” Slade rolled eyes and walked away, leaving him standing.
Uriel remained standing for almost ten minutes, looking around the goth castle.
Students are probably in bed by now, so the compound is silent, except from the sound of nocturnal insects.
But then a loud roar came from the fifth tower which Slade entered.
The students are probably going crazy right now since everyone thought he was dead.
