Luke left and Lewis approached Richard with an annoying smile.

“What are you doing here?” Richard asked, his face plain and icy.

Lewis scoffed.

“I am a guest. Shouldn’t I at least be welcomed to the luxurious hotel of Richard Hernandez?” Lewis asked rhetorically, cuz his question doesn’t deserve an answer from Richard.

“Then enjoy yourself to the fullest” Richard said walking away from him.

“Kristin, right? She is a gorgeous and a beautiful woman”

Richard halted his feet, and turned back to look at Lewis, his eyes darkening.

“Since when did your hatred for women leave you?”

“My life isn’t yours to worry about, and don’t ever puke out the name Kristin from your mouth again” Richard warned.

“And what exactly are you going to do? The guilt you feel deep down, won’t allow you to do anything to me, betrayal!”

“You can say whatever you want, but the moment you try to touch even the slightest hair of my wife, I’d forget the past and make you pay for it.

You already know I can’t say what I can’t do, Lewis. If you love your life, keep your eyes off from my wife” Richard warns with a scary tone and leaves.

Lewis laughed, but it slowly turned into anger. His eyes were burning in vengeance.

“I won’t ever forgive you for what you did to me Richard. If it means using Kristin to hatch my revenge on you, I’d gladly do it” Lewis tightened the clenching of his fists.

Richard arrived in his office, and Luke approached him.

“If you want, I’d send him away”

“Forget about him” Richard sat down.

“You already know Lewis’s motive. All he wants is to bring you down, I won’t be surprised if he was the one who started the rumor”

“Just let him be,” Richard said.

“What do you have with Lewis? You always allow him to do what he wants, like you owe him something” Luke said.

“Get me the day’s report” Richard said, and Luke sighed.

He knew trying to fish out the truth from Richard will make him angry, so Luke just left to get what he asked for.

As for Richard, he only told Luke to get the day’s report in order to send him away.

What he did to Lewis in the past was uncalled for, and he won’t ever forgive himself for it.

But if he dares to involve an innocent girl like Kristin in the dispute between them, he’d forget about his sins and make Lewis pay for it.

He spend half of the day in the hotel and the other half at his dad’s company, checking out the new inventions of the cars he came up with.

When it was nightfall, he went back home, somehow he was eager to see Kristin.

Richard was finally convinced that Kristin was indeed his sleeping pill.

•RICHARD’S VILLA•

Kristin’s laughter erupted in the living room, as she talked to her parents on the phone. Her mom eventually picked up and explained to her that she was too busy in the farmyard and was unable to pick her call.

“How’s Las Vegas treating you?” Her Mom, Gladys asked.

“It’s a beautiful city compared to the small town in Glenwood. Its rumors about having the best nightlife and classy lifestyle are all true, Mom. Someday, I’d bring all of you here” She smiled.

She misses her parents a lot, being their only daughter, they treated her like a precious treasure, despite having a little to give her.

She is twenty five years old, but anytime she spends or talk with her parents, she feels like a five years old girl

“Have you gotten a job already? Where are you living now?” Her Dad, Dante asked.
