Cecelia quickly grabbed Luke. “You’re the only family I know. You’re the only one I have. You’re my husband and a father to me,” Cecelia choked.

She regretted her actions and only wanted a second chance.

“You knew all this and still went ahead and cheated on me? You remember all the sacrifices I made for you, and you still hurt me?” Luke said. He had promised himself he wouldn’t shed tears because of Cecelia, but the pain was still fresh in his heart.

His smile had been just a facade so that Richard and Kristin wouldn’t worry about him.

“I know I wronged you, and that’s why I’m begging for a second chance. I love you so much, Luke. I can’t bear to lose you.”

“You already lost me, Cecelia.”

Cecelia hugged him, crying heartbreakingly. “No, Luke. Please don’t say that. I was blinded by my love for materialism, but I’ve changed now.

Let’s start over. I will be the best wife from now on. I will clean, I will cook, I will fulfill all the duties of a wife. Please give me another chance,” Cecelia cried.

“Let go of me, Cecelia,” Luke said, wiping the tears from his eyes.

“No, I don’t want to,” Cecelia shook her head, sobbing as she hugged him tightly. To her surprise, Luke pushed her away, and her head nearly hit the wall.

“What you did to me is unforgivable, Cecelia! I’m leaving this house, and if I come back and still see you here, I’ll bury you alive. After all, you have no family, so no one will come after me,” Luke said. With that, he left the house.

Cecelia fell to the ground, crying. What shattered her heart was that Luke had already disposed off their wedding photos.

It now occurred to her that she could never have Luke back; he had divorced her and gotten rid of their photos together.

Her fists clenched on the floor, tears streaming down her face, her expression filled with venom and vengeance.

“I’m going to make sure you feel the pain of losing someone you love, Kristin! I’m going to take the most important person in your life. I will come back for you, Kristin!” Cecelia swore with vengeance and continued crying.

**JULIO’S MANSION**

Adriana came out of her room and headed downstairs, where she saw her parents engaged in conversation.

“Can I join the conversation?” she asked with an innocent smile.

“Yes, you can. It’s about you anyway,” Ophelia smiled.

“About me?” Adriana sat down. “What are you both discussing about me?”

“We want to throw a welcome home party for you,” Julio replied.

“A welcome home party? Why?”

“You’ve been missing for twenty years. You may not know this, but we hold a high reputation in Las Vegas, and we want the whole city to know about you since you’ll be inheriting Skyline Company,” Ophelia explained.

“Really, Dad?” Adriana asked, smiling.

“Yes, Adriana.”

“What about Richard?”

“He is an adopted child. He has no place in this family. Moreover, he has more than seven establishments scattered in Las Vegas. It’s time he steps down from his position as CEO of Skyline Company,” Ophelia said.

“Ophelia!”

“What, Julio? Our heiress is back, so the beggar should resign from being a replacement.”

“Dad, Richard will be coming to my welcome home party, right?” Adriana asked, ignoring Ophelia’s words.

“Yes, he will. I’ll make sure he comes with Kristin too.”

Adriana wasn’t thrilled about Kristin coming, but she managed to force a smile.
