**JULIO’S MANSION**
The moment Adriana entered the house and saw Ophelia in the living room, she began shedding tears, running towards her.
“Mom!” she cried.
Ophelia’s eyes widened when she saw the wound on Adriana’s forehead.
“What happened to you, Adriana? Did you get into an accident?”
“No, Mom. Kristin did this to me,” Adriana answered, fake tears flowing.
“Kristin did this to you?”
“Yes! She texted me earlier, saying she wanted to talk, and that’s why I left the house so early. When I got to the meeting place, she started slapping me, blaming me for pushing her into the pool.
I tried to explain it wasn’t intentional, but she smashed my head against the car’s hood. It hurts so much, Mom,” Adriana cried, and being manipulative, Ophelia quickly believed her.
“Kristin is going down today for hitting my daughter! How dare she!” Ophelia spat.
“What did Kristin do?” Julio asked, approaching them.
“Just look at what that Kristin did to our daughter! She almost killed her!” Ophelia raged.
“What did you do to her, Adriana?”
“I didn’t do anything. She attacked me out of nowhere. I would have died if people hadn’t stopped her,” Adriana said, feigning a crying voice.
“I’m going to make that Kristin pay. I’ll send her to the hospital for daring to lay a hand on my daughter!” Ophelia seethed as she headed for the door.
“Dare to step out that door, and I will divorce you,” Julio warned, making Ophelia halt in her tracks.
Ophelia turned to look at Julio, shocked that he actually spewed those words from his mouth.
“What did you just say?” she asked, doubting that she had heard correctly.
“I’m going to divorce you if you dare try to leave this house to do something to Kristin. I’ve had enough of your madness!”
Ophelia scoffed bitterly. “Madness? You call this madness? Kristin did this to your daughter, and you aren’t going to do anything about it?!” she shouted.
“I didn’t say I wasn’t going to do anything. Kristin isn’t the type to hit someone without a reason. I’m going to Richard to confirm what really happened,” Julio said.
Knowing Julio might know what made Kristin hit her, Adriana quickly rushed to him.
“It’s okay, Dad. You don’t have to confirm anything. I’m totally fine,” Adriana said, faking a smile.
“You said Kristin harmed you without a definite reason, right? I’m going to confirm with Richard. Only then will I be able to do something.”
“Are you calling your daughter a liar? What’s going on with you, Julio?!” Ophelia asked.
“I am so tired of putting up with your madness. Maybe I shouldn’t have chosen you.”
“Are you going to bring up Paulina again?! I’m sure she died in that acid accident, and it was all your fault!”
Julio exhaled. “I’m going to talk to Richard.”
He left the house before Adriana could stop him, and Adriana became worried because she knew Richard would definitely tell him.
“Are you okay, Adriana? Don’t worry; I will find a way to make Kristin pay for what she did to you, but not now, so Julio won’t have to put his threat to good use.”
Adriana only nodded and went to her room, pacing around.
“If Richard tells him the truth, my plans will be ruined. What should I do?” Adriana asked herself, biting her fingers and thinking about what to do when a call interrupted her.
She looked at the caller ID; it was from T, the name she had saved the number with.
“Not now, please.” Adriana picked up her phone and switched it off to prevent T from calling her again.
