INTO THE DEPTHS OF LOVE : CHAPTER 141 – 150
**NEXT DAY**
Richard stepped inside the ward with Kristin, and they saw Tabitha looking out the window, smiling softly as she watched some of the patients.
Kristin looked at Richard and gave him a sign to say something. Richard hesitated before clearing his throat.
Tabitha turned to look at him, and a soft smile appeared on her face.
“It’s you again. Thanks for bringing me here,” she said, her voice sounding like a child’s, making Richard recall how harsh she had sounded twenty years ago.
When Richard hesitated to say a word, Kristin spoke for him.
“How are you doing, ma’am?”
Tabitha nodded like a child and smiled. “Who are you?” she asked.
“I’m his wife, and he is your son.”
“My son?” Tabitha asked, looking at Richard, who wasn’t saying a word. He had nothing to say to her. If not for Kristin, he would have been lurking in his dark shell, feeling lost and alone.
“Yes. His name is Richard. Do you remember?”
Tabitha shook her head. She tried to touch him, but Richard resisted.
“You are so handsome and tall,” she smiled. Anger built within Richard, but he tried to control it. She was suffering from amnesia; how could she possibly remember what she did to him?
The same doctor who attended to Tabitha yesterday entered the ward.
“Mr. Richard, you’re here again.”
“Is she ever going to get better?” he asked.
“Amnesia does take a certain amount of time to heal, but she needs to be properly taken care of. She narrowly escaped insanity.”
Richard looked at Tabitha, and the words hesitated before coming out.
“Proceed with her discharge papers. I… I… I will take her home.”
Kristin smiled and patted Richard, knowing it was a very hard decision for him to make, but he had no choice; Tabitha was still his mother.
“Your house is so beautiful, Richard,” Tabitha said playfully as she looked around the huge living room. It was spectacular because every single thing was made of glass.
Kathryn came out from her room and held Richard’s hand.
“Daddy Richard, who is she?” Kathryn asked.
“She is your dad’s mom,” Kristin answered Kathryn’s question, knowing Richard wouldn’t want to refer to Tabitha as his ‘mom.’
“Daddy Richard has a mom?” Kathryn asked again, and Kristin nodded.
“You’re so cute,” Tabitha grinned and tried to carry Kathryn, but she hid behind Richard’s back.
“Don’t overstay your welcome in this house,” Richard finally stopped her. The resentment he felt toward her was palpable, but he didn’t have any choice but to let her stay with him because he was her only child.
“Forevermore, take Kathryn to her room.”
Kristin didn’t argue with Richard, knowing that letting his mother live with him was a difficult decision for him.
“Let’s go, Kathryn,” Kristin said as she left with Kathryn, leaving just Richard and Tabitha in the living room.
“Follow me,” he said, and Tabitha followed him as they entered a room downstairs.
“You can stay here for now, and don’t come out until I say so. My wife is pregnant, so don’t even think about stressing her. If you need something, ask me instead, and my daughter, stay miles away from her. Am I understood?”
Tabitha nodded with a pout.
“Good.” Richard turned to leave, but Tabitha held him, caressing his hand.
“Your wife said you’re my son, but I feel you hate me so much. Did I do something wrong for you to hate me?”
