INTO THE DEPTHS OF LOVE : CHAPTER 161 – 170
Later that night, Richard went to Kathryn’s room to get Kristin, only to find her already asleep beside Kathryn. Their daughter had her arms and legs sprawled over Kristin, who looked even more delicate now that she was pregnant.
Richard sat on the edge of the bed, gently caressing his wife’s face and Kathryn’s.
“How do I start explaining this to you, Forevermore?” Richard whispered to himself as he stared at Kristin, her peaceful face illuminated by the soft glow of the moonlight streaming through the window.
He watched her sleeping next to Kathryn, her body wrapped protectively around their daughter.
Richard’s heart pounded as the weight of his secret hung over him like a storm cloud. He brushed a strand of hair from Kristin’s face, feeling the love he had for her intensify with every breath.
“How do I tell you that I knew Paul was lying from the moment he showed up? That I had to play along because deep down, I was terrified of you finding out the truth. How do I tell you that Kathryn is my biological daughter, and that I’ve known all along? I’m the man you slept with in that dimly lit restroom seven years ago.”

Richard continued staring at his wife as he flashed back to what had prompted him to conduct the DNA test with Kathryn.
**FLASHBACK, SOME MONTHS AGO**
Kristin sat on Richard’s lap with her hands draped around his shoulders, grinning.
“What really happened that night seven years ago?” Richard asked. Kristin bit her lower lip before speaking.
“I don’t know if I can remember. All I recall is going to a club with a friend from college. After our freshman party, she insisted we hang out. I got drunk and went to the restroom, and then a stranger came in. Before I knew it, he kissed me, and that’s how it happened. The next morning, I woke up in my bed; my friend had brought me home.”
“Then she must know who he was, right?”
“I guess she did. She was the one who brought me home. I never asked because I didn’t know that mistake would lead to me getting pregnant.”
“Did you contact her?” Richard asked.
“Agatha left school a week before I found out I was pregnant. I lost contact with her and haven’t heard from her since then. I wish I could just remember the face of the stranger from that night.”
“It’s fine, Forevermore. Even I can’t remember a thing when I’m drunk, especially from that drugged night in the Philippines.”
“You were in the Philippines?”
“Yes, for a business meeting with a client of my dad. I don’t remember much, but I was drugged that night.”
“You were drugged? By who?” Kristin asked, her brown eyes locked on his gray eyes.
“I don’t know. I went to the Philippines to sign a deal for my dad, but during the meeting, I was drugged.”
“And after that?”
“I don’t remember.”
“Poor you. I wonder who drugged my Mr. Grouchy,” she said with a pout, and Richard smiled, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.
“What’s the name of the bar you and your friend went to? It might help,” Richard asked.
Kristin sighed and shook her head. “It’s not going to help. I went back to the bar after I found out I was pregnant, but since I couldn’t give any details about the man I slept with, they couldn’t help me. But I think the name of the bar was Convey Bar.”
“Convey Bar?” Richard’s eyebrows furrowed at the mention of the bar.
“Yes. Do you know the bar?” she asked, and Richard slowly shook his head.
