Luke wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her close.
“You once said you wouldn’t let a man who didn’t love you kiss you, right?”
Romina nodded, gazing into his emerald eyes.
“Then prepare to be kissed hard by a man who loves you when he returns safe and sound.”
It took Romina a moment to process his words before she smiled, and Luke returned it, gently caressing her cheek as she blushed.

They arrived in an empty field covered with grass. Richard, Luke, Lewis, and the FBI all wore bulletproof vests, as Adriana had warned them how tricky Tabitha could be.
Adriana stood at the front, ready to lead them to Tabitha’s underground bunker.
They began walking through the grassy area. It was like a puzzle, and no one would have found the bunker without Adriana.
Tabitha was a sly woman, which was why the FBI couldn’t catch her, no matter how hard they tried.
They continued walking until they reached an area covered with elephant ear leaves.
“Are you sure this is the underground bunker? It’s covered in bushes of elephant ear leaves,” Mark said.
“Tabitha is a tricky woman, which is why you couldn’t find her before. It might look like a dead end, but it’s not,” Adriana said.
She moved through the bushes, and when they followed her, they were stunned to see a small, shining staircase.
“These stairs lead to Tabitha’s underground bunker,” Adriana said, attempting to go down, but Richard stopped her.
“We’ll take it from here.”
“But—”
“We may not be blood-related, and even though it’s hard to accept them as my parents, they raised you and treated you as their daughter, making us family. I won’t allow you to set foot inside the bunker,” Richard said, then signaled one of the FBI agents.
“Escort her back home safely,” he instructed, and the agent nodded.
As Richard and the others prepared to descend the stairs, Adriana hugged him.
“Please be careful,” she said. She still loves him, though she knew he would never be hers.
Richard broke the hug after a brief moment. “Go home and look after my— parents.”
Adriana nodded and left with one of the FBI agents.
Richard and the others began descending the narrow staircase, entering the underground bunker.
Meanwhile, Tabitha sat on a large chair, cigarette in hand, watching as Richard, Lewis, Luke, and the FBI agents entered the bunker. A smirk crossed her face.
Drake rushed in. “They’re here, just as you predicted, ma’am.”
“Begin as planned,” Tabitha replied, smirking.
