INTO THE DEPTHS OF LOVE : CHAPTER 31 – 40

Kristin walked under the rain, having no idea on where to go. She was still new in Vegas, and there’s no one she knows apart from Richard and Luke.

She wanted to ask Luke for help, but she stopped halfway when she remembered he was married. She haven’t met Luke’s wife before, and she doesn’t know how Luke’s wife will react when she sees her.

Feeling helpless and homeless, Kristin walked under the rain, crying.

Her clothes were soaked from the rain, her hair was wet, sticking to her face, and her face was being washed out by the heavy rain pour and her tears.

It breaks her heart that Richard could push her out of the house in the ungodly hours of the night.

She always knew he had a hot temper, but she never thought that his anger would take a huge turn to the extent of driving her out of the house when it’s raining.

Where will she go from here? Kristin thought within her, she was crying and at the same time, regretting her actions.

She wished she didn’t bring up the topic, but it was too late to regret her decision. She is out here in the rainy city alone.

Kristin found refuge in a kiosk, and with a shivering body, she sat outside the kiosk.

For the first time, she longed to go home and be with her parents.

They will never push her out of the house, regardless of what she did.

Missing her father so much, she looked at the phone in her hand, and gracefully it wasn’t affected by the rain.

Richard must have spent millions of dollars to get her such a phone that resists water, but that same man drove her out of the house.

Wiping her tears, Kristin called her father. He is not just her father, but also her heart solace.

As if Dante was waiting for her call, he picked up before it rang, Kristin smiled and shed tears at the same time.

“Were you waiting for me to call?” Her voice crackled.

“Are you crying?” Dante asked, Kristin shook her head, more tears dropping from her eyes.

She swallowed and said; “I am not crying dad…. I just miss you”

“Where are you Kristin? I can hear the sound of rain, are you in the rain?”

“Of course not dad. Why would I be inside the rain? I’m close to the window and that’s why you can clearly hear the sound of the rain?” She sniffles, cleaning her tears.

“Are you sure you’re okay, Kristin? We spoke a while ago and you sounded happy, but your voice right now tells you’re crying. What happened, Kristin?” Dante inquired.

“Nothing happened dad. Where’s Kathryn?”

“She is still at Romina’s place. Romina is taking good care of her”

“I wish I could hear her voice. Dad” Kristin called him in a crying tone.

“Yes, my angel”

“What was the funniest thing I did when I was a child?”

“Why are you suddenly asking?”

“I just need something that will make me laugh. Can you please tell me all about it” She smiled, but her eyes were wet.

“The funniest thing you did when you were a child was mistaken a chemical for manure. Our entire crops for that season died, because you spray chemicals on it”

Kristin laughed.

“Mom scolded me a lot, right?”

“Yes she did, but as always I had your back, and told her mistakes do happen. Dad loves you so much Kristin”

Kristin cries silently, her heart was burning, she needed a consoling hug from her father, but she won’t be able to get it, cuz she is in Vegas.

“I love you so much too, dad”

“You’re crying. What happened? Who made my daughter cry?” Dante panicked over the phone.

“No one made me cry dad. I have to go now” Kristin hung up before her dad could speak further.

She folded her arms around her thigh, crying.

It was up to an hour before the rain finally stopped. Kristin came out from the kiosk to find a safe place to rest her head.

She walked only a few steps away, when she became dizzy, she was also shivering badly and her head was pounding rapidly.

Kristin forced herself to walk again, but ended up falling to the ground.

She lost consciousness.
